No registration required! DROP IN and enjoy any of the dozens of drop-in activities at the Kroc Center! From Open Art Studio, to TurboKick® to Aqua-Joints, there’s something everyday for everyone. In addition, you will find that many activities are offered multiple times a week, making it convenient for you to get into a routine and enjoy new friends. Use this Drop-In Schedule to see what drop-in activities are available in all areas of the Kroc Center. Each month a new schedule can be picked up from the literature racks or at the Welcome Desk. Of course you can always check online, too at www.OmahaKroc.org. Please note, Aquatic and Fitness drop-In activities require a “Class Pass” card to participate, see pg. 7 for details. The Kroc Center reserves the rights to add, cancel or change classes as needed to meet minimum class participant requirements and may do so without notice. No refunds or credit for daily classes.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

OPEN COMPUTER LAB

Children 8-12 years old may come to the Kroc Center right after school until 6pm for the After School Program, which provides tutoring, help with homework and some structured programming such as art, and other interactive activities.

The Kroc Center's state-of-the-art computer lab may be used for academic work, checking emails, playing computer games or surfing the internet. The lab is open for walk-in use during regular lab hours. Individuals 8 and older may use the lab without being accompanied by an adult. Printing services are available for a small fee.

The program is FREE to Kroc Center Members. Non-members may attend for $5 per day (includes access to the facility: computer lab, game room, gym & pool). Please register at the front desk .

Explore your creative side! Our Art Room is open for you to spend time learning and practicing your artistic skills. Open Studio is not a structured class, but an opportunity to work independently on art projects of your choice. Staff will be on hand to offer advice or assistance. Some materials are available for your use, or you can bring your own! Open to individuals 10 and older. Children younger than 10 may attend if accompanied by parent.

Our Pottery Studio is now open at select times for students who have completed at least 8 weeks of class instruction. Students MUST BE approved in advance by instructor. Both the indoor and outdoor fields will be used and times may be adjusted (depending on weather and demand). The gym will be available throughout the week for adults to play pick-up basketball or soccer. Drop by and get in the game!

This is a great way for teens to have FUN, meet friends and get some exercise too! Staff will set up the gym and be on hand to give instructional hints and monitor fair play. The gym will be available at a variety of times for both boys and girls.

KROC CENTER SENIOR SPORTS Are you a Baby Boomer or beyond? If so, join us each weekday morning for active FUN! Participate in many of the activities played at The State and National Senior Games or just enjoy a game of cards with your friends. We walk, swim, play, visit and just plain laugh a lot. The FUN is geared for those 50 years of age and older; however, anyone can join in the FUN and give it a try.

Youth Pool Usage

Open Swim on weekday mornings is intended as a workout area for adults. Sorry, youth ages 15 & under are NOT permitted in the pool until noon — this includes the Lazy River (exceptions made for OPS breaks).

Children AGE 7 and under need to be accompanied by an adult age 19 or older. Children AGE 5 and under must have an adult age 19 or older in the pool within arm’s reach. Children not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper.

Designed to help individuals with arthritis and those recovering from surgery or just starting an exercise program. This group class encourages self care, provides social interaction and improves muscular strength, endurance and flexibility. Individuals may participate at their own pace.

Combine a shallow and a deep water workout. Improve your cardio, balance, flexibility and core strength.

AQUA-CIRCUIT A total body water work-out! This drop-in class combines a variety of cardio, water circuits, resistance, strength and interval training. and flexibility. Individuals may participate at their own pace.

AQUA-ZUMBA® Aqua-Zumba® is an easy to follow class set to high-energy, latininspired music. Interval training and resistance training combine with dance moves to tone and sculpt the body while burning fat.

HYDRO-PUMP Use flotation devices to promote proper vertical alignment and stabilization of the body resulting in an intense core muscles workout. This deep water class incorporates cardio, strength and interval training.

SUNRISE SPLASH Start your day off with a splash! This shallow water exercise class will tone your muscles and strengthen your cardiovascular system.

ADULT FITNESS

FOR OLDER TEENS AND ADULTS AGE 16+.

DROP-IN CLASS CHECK IN PROCEDURE Class participants MUST obtain a wristband/class pass from. Welcome Desk and present it to the instructor prior to the beginning of class. One wristband/pass per person. Due to space limitations, a limited number of wristband/pass cards are available for each class. Wristband/pass cards are issued on a first come, first served basis starting one hour prior to the start of class, please plan accordingly. Wristband/pass cannot be shared or loaned and must be worn to class by the authorized user.

BOOT CAMP

WARRIOR WORKOUT

Want a killer workout? Join an interval training class with a boot camp theme. This class has intense cardio sessions with time to recover while doing strength training! Add this to your routine for a sure boost to your metabolism. This 50-minute class is a higher intensity level class. Weather permitting, this class could possibly take place outdoors.

An intense 30 minute workout involving 6 exercises, 6 rounds each. 3 exercises are with a resistance band, 3 without. It’s a good, hard workout in a short amount of time!

FUNCTIONAL FITNESS CLUB This class is for older adults to help improve everyday function and range of motion (carrying groceries, gardening, lifting boxes, cleaning house, etc.) These instructor lead classes will help strengthen your muscles while improving your balance to prevent falls, too.

KICKBOX This is a high intensity workout combining cardio and strength training. Using a heavy bag to punch and kick while including squats, sit ups, push ups, jumping jacks, and much more to burn a large amount of calories and tone your muscles. A great workout and stress reliever.

STRENGTH & STRETCH

YOGA Now with different classes to choose from: Chair Yoga, Fundamental Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Intermediate Yoga, Yin Yoga. Yoga classes through The Salvation Army combine some of the traditional yoga concepts and techniques with Western scientific and medically based knowledge. Programming concentrates on breathing techniques, stress reduction, relaxing, and increasing range-of-motion in all major muscle groups while enhancing strength and flexibility. One class objective is to work towards an understanding of body awareness. Please know that one can practice yoga postures without adopting Eastern philosophies or religions.

Enjoy the challenge of working on muscular and core strength, endurance, balance and flexibility, and even a little Pilates thrown in to mix it up! This class will use dumbbells, elastic bands, stability and Bosu® balls. Options for beginners to advance students.

WALKING CLUB Walking is a healthy, fun way to exercise and socialize at the same time. Join us Monday - Friday to get in shape at the Kroc Center! All are welcome to walk together in small groups or on your own using one of four designated paths within and around the Center. As part of the Kroc Center’s community outreach program anyone 50 and older can sign up for a Free Fridays Card! Stop by the Club Check-in table located at the entrance of the building, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 7:30am-11:30 pm, to get a tracking card. Take the tracking card to any qualifying activity listed on the card and have your instructor initial it. Please note that fees apply to non-members for most activities. Participants must attend 3 of the approved activities each week to be eligible to take home free bread, which will be available that same Friday from 9-11am. Bread will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. SENIORS, YOU MAY QUALIFY FOR A FREE MEMBERSHIP! The Kroc Center is now a Silver&Fit® participating fitness facility, details on pg 4 of the program guide. FAMILY-FRIENDLY FITNESS are classes for kids (ages 8 and up) but parents are welcome to join in the fun! Scheduled at the same time as adult fitness classes, these classes are an option for younger members to attend a supervised fitness class with or without mom and dad! Please refer to Drop-in Class Check-in procedure listed above, at the top of the page.

CADET BOOT CAMP Boot Camp for the younger generation! Build high moral, strength and confidence with military based exercise safe for individuals ages 8+. Bursts of cardio and strength training elements are a fun way to get healthy and stay active. Hoorah!!

KIDZ KICKBOX This is a high intensity workout combining cardio and strength training. Using a heavy bag to punch and kick while including squats, sit ups, push ups, jumping jacks, and much more to burn a large amount of calories and tone your muscles. A great workout and stress reliever.

KIDZRIDE & NEW! FAMILY RIDE Hey kids! Take a ride in this cycling class geared towards the younger generation. You and your friends are sure to get moving in this fun cardio activity designed for youth ages 8-15. Family Ride welcomes parents to join their kids. All participants must be at least 51” tall to take this “ride”.

FAMILY ZUMBA® Want to Zumba with your teens? This class is for you and your family! A regular Zumba class that teenagers can attend with or without their parents. Moms, come and have some fun with your teenage daughters! For ages 8+

ZUMBATOMIC® Kids love to crank up the music, shake, wiggle and have a blast with their friends. So why not get fit while they’re at it? This course teaches how to fuse the Zumba® program’s exciting formula with the psychology and physiology relevant to teaching kids. Kids will learn how to modify Zumba® moves to get optimal results and get moving! Designed for ages 8-15.

SENIOR LUNCH BUNCH Are you a Baby Boomer or beyond? Adults 50 and older are invited to join us for lunch and conversation. Pot Luck 1st Wed of month, 11:00am Bring a dish to pass and enjoy lunch together. A short themed program will also be provided. Brown Bag Bible Study 3rd Wed of month, 11:00am Bring a sack lunch from home and participate in a short Bible Study.

KROC CENTER SENIOR SPORTS Join us weekday mornings for active FUN! Participate in many of the activities played at The State and National Senior Games or just enjoy good times with friends. Activities include billiards, ping-pong, seated volleyball, basketball, washers toss, board games, card games, visiting with one another and lots of laughter. The FUN is geared for ages 50 and older; however, anyone can join in and give it a try.

FUNCTIONAL FITNESS CLUB

GENTLE YOGA

This class is for older adults to help improve everyday function and range of motion (carrying groceries, gardening, lifting boxes, cleaning house, etc.) These instructor lead classes will help strengthen your muscles while improving your balance to prevent falls, too.

A gentler form of yoga for older adults that concentrates on breathing, stress reduction, and increasing range-of-motion in all major muscle groups.

WALKING CLUB Monday-Friday, 9-11am Walking is a healthy, fun way to exercise and socialize at the same time. Walk in small groups or on your own using one of four designated paths within and around the Center. Stop by the Fitness Desk today to get more details and receive your free program and tracking card.

* An EFT monthly payment will be deducted automatically each month on an ongoing basis. EFT withdrawals remain in effect until the Kroc Center receives written notification of membership termination. Any debit requests in process at the time the notification is received will be completed. ** 1-Month Memberships are pre-paid and must be renewed monthly at the Welcome Desk within 7 days of expiration date. A $10 reactivation fee applies after the 7 day grace period. Lapsed 1-month memberships may incur additional fees to renew. ***Household members must reside at the same residence as the primary member. Each adult (ages 19+) must show proof of address. Households with more than 6 individuals may add people for an additional cost of $10 per month per person. After the initial membership application has been submitted a $5 processing fee will be charged for adding or removing individuals from a membership.
