Most of us have more than one job to do, and we never seem to have enough time. We are workers, volunteers, parents, friends, and most of us are more than one thing at a time. But which of these is the work of God? We seldom view our ordinary work as being the work of God. We may think that we have to be ministers or priests, missionaries or charity workers, engaged full-time in works formally identified as being “God’s work.” But everything we do with a faithful heart and with love for others is God’s work. We each have our own role to fill in the world, and many gifts are necessary. We cannot always see the direct connection of our daily work to the plan of God. But we trust and we believe that God leads us to do what is needed, where it is needed. What is “God’s work?” “This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent” (John 6:29). WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Sunday: 7:30am, 9:00am, 10:30am (signed),

The crowd wanted to know, “What can we do to accomplish the works of God?” They were looking for a way to do miracles, signs, and wonders, and they expected Jesus to prove himself by doing this for them, too. They had just witnessed the multiplication of the loaves, yet it seemed not to impress them! They are asking for yet another “sign.” Jesus directs their attention to the meaning of the miracles: God’s loving faithfulness to them in their need. Manna in the desert and loaves in the wilderness were the signs of Jesus’ gift of himself to us in love.

& 12pm MISAS EN ESPAÑOL: Domingos a la 1:30pm Viernes a las 6:30pm LATIN MASS: Sundays at 4:30pm CONFESSIONS: Saturdays - 2:30pm to 3:30pm in Church Or by appointment DEVOTIONS Morning Prayer Group: Liturgy of the Hours Mon., Tue., Thurs., Fri. & Sat.: 8:10am - 8:25am EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT Every 1st Friday following the 8:30 am Mass until 6:15pm ROSARY: Thursdays at 11:30am in the chapel ROSARIO EN ESPAÑOL - Jueves de 5:30pm6:30pm en la capilla

What Jesus was looking for in these people was an attentive heart. He wanted them to see that God was providing for their needs with love and faithfulness, and had always done so. But the people didn’t get it. They had just witnessed a miracle, and yet they still were asking for “a sign.” What counts as a sign? Do we need to be hit over the head? Every day we witness miracles, and yet we don’t really see them, or believe that they really come from God. Every day, we are bread to each other, or someone is bread for us, and yet we do not make the connection! No doubt the people in the desert failed to connect the quail and the manna with their crying out to God for food. God answers our prayers and knows our needs, and sends people to us and us to others, and yet we look for other explanations of these “miracles” in our lives. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Company

Healing the Effects of Abortion Related Trauma (H.E.A.R.T.)

“It is normal to grieve a pregnancy loss, including the loss of a child by abortion. A hole in one's heart can form so deep that sometimes nothing can fill the emptiness.” H.E.A.R.T. provides a confidential, non-judgmental, and caring group that will journey with you on the road to hope and healing from pregnancy loss due to abortion. Abortion recovery helps overcome the emotional trauma and spiritual issues experienced after an abortion. The H.E.A.R.T. group explores grief, guilt, anger, depression, fear, un-forgiveness, and shame associated with abortion while trusting in the love, mercy, and grace of God to restore us to wholeness. The H.E.A.R.T. group will meet August 7, 2015 to October 2, 2015 (9 sessions) from 3pm to 4pm at Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center, 2021 East Busch Boulevard in Tampa. Anyone affected by an abortion is encouraged to attend. For more information and to register, contact Liliana or Denise 813-631-4398 or Email: bgimenez@ccdosp.org All Calls Are Confidential
