A SEASON OF JOY “They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers” (Acts 2:42). This first line of today’s first reading sets the tone as this fifty-day celebration of Easter opens before us. Today we listen to the teachings of three apostles—Luke, Peter, and John—who remind us that even though we have not seen Christ, we nonetheless are filled with joy as we place our belief in his saving death and resurrection. Each week during the Easter season we will gather as a community of faith to find strength and support from our God and from one another. Each week we will gather to break bread and offer the great prayer of thanksgiving, actions that will manifest the very presence of the risen Christ in our midst. Let us be open to the wonders of this season of joy. READINGS FOR THE WEEK Monday: Tuesday:

SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER

Carnival 2017

Faith and Family Women’s Group Incarnation Catholic Church is excited to announce the formation of a new ministry for all women of our parish community. Faith and Family Women’s Group has evolved from Pope Francis’s mission of the importance of family life within our Catholic faith. Whether you are a Mother, Grandmother, Godmother, Daughter, Sister or Aunt, we invite you to participate in this new ministry that will focus on the family as a whole within our church community. Is your Catholic faith an important part of your life? Are you interested in becoming more involved in your church community but cannot make a commitment to regularly scheduled meetings or dedicate time to multiple committee meetings? Would you enjoy getting to know other ladies and families within the parish community?

Do you enjoy attending parish events? Would you like to see more family focused occ asions within the parish? If you answered yes to any or all of the above questions, we encourage you to learn more about the Faith and Family Women’s Group. The focus of this ministry is to provide an opportunity for women of all ages to gather, get to know each other and find enjoyment in helping within the church community to provide family fun, focused events that can also help raise funds to support our parish. Stay tuned for more information on the new ministry, including how you can become involved as well as a spring themed kick-off event.

On Mother’s Day we honor our Mothers living and deceased. We visit them, send cards, call or bring a special gift. However, the best spiritual gift for our Mothers, living or deceased is to remember them in our masses celebrated on Mother's Day! Remember your Mother, grandmother, wife, aunt, sister, or loved one in our Mother’s Day Masses. Mother’s Day Spiritual Bouquet Mass Cards are available at the Parish Office. Mass cards will be available for a donation of $20. Envelopes for living or deceased also available in the pews and church foyer.

Sunday, May 7th is First Communion Sunday, a very special day for our parish! There will be reserved seating at the 9:00am, 10:30am and 1:30pm Masses for our First Communicants. The 10:30am Mass will have the largest group. Please keep these families in prayer for this very blessed day. 7

Diocesan & Community Events Hi, my name is John Flynn, and I am currently a junior in high school who is working on my Eagle Project. I have decided that my Eagle service project will be to help improve the lower-school Incarnation playground. Some of the things I will be adding include mini soccer goals, a tire climbing obstacle, and new additions to the sound board. To make these additions I will need to raise around $700. I am collecting donation this weekend to help turn this project into a reality. Any excess funds that are not used for this project will go straight back to Incarnation, so your money will help the school no matter what. Monies for this project will be disbursed by the parish business office only when receipts for supplies are presented. Please use the red envelopes located at the end of each pow.
