We will begin celebrating Sunday Mass the weekend of May 30th & 31st.
(We are requesting our parishioners to please wear a mask during Mass). Here are some details of some changes to expect. The dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass is still in effect and will be until further notice. Everyone must use main entrance and follow the instructions of the ushers. Please be patient. The side doors are ONLY emergency exits. Incarnation is limited to a maximum seating of 128 due to social distancing. They are marked by green crosses. Once we reach 128 people there will be no more permitted to enter. People who live in the same home may sit together. Ushers will greet each person and show them to their seat. In order to properly disinfect after each Mass, the Sunday schedule will be:
Saturday 4:00 pm Sunday 7am, 9am, 11am, 1pm, & Spanish at 3pm Please limit private prayer after mass to no longer than 5 minutes so our volunteers can properly disinfect the church. The chapel and cry room will remain closed. There will be a collection basket at the entrance. No basket will be passed around and there will be no basket bearers. Hand sanitizer dispensers are in the Narthex as you enter and leave. No holding hands at Our Father and no contact peace. Ushers will direct section by section in a single line at three communion spots. Communion is ONLY distributed on the hand, not the tongue, for the time being at Incarnation. Please respect other’s space in communion line with proper distance.

Going Forth with the Holy Spirit Have you ever been asked to do something that you didn’t feel prepared to do? Maybe it was something at work, like being asked to lead a team on an important project. Maybe it was when you found out you were having your first child. Perhaps it was when you were called into a difficult situation to bring words of comfort and compassion. I know I’ve experienced that feeling during my years as a priest and now a bishop. What do you do when you feel inadequate to tackle the task at hand? This weekend the church celebrates Pentecost, the birthday of the Church, which marks the end of the Easter Season. It’s now 50 days after the resurrection. Despite all they witnessed while in the presence of Jesus, the disciples still had questions...not so much as to who Jesus was, but what they were to do next after he ascended to the Father. In future scriptures we read that Jesus tells them to go to the ends of the earth, proclaiming the good news and baptizing all in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They no doubt questioned if they had what it would take to do so. Could they do it? Did they have the courage to do it? Those questions may also be in your heart today. This same commandment Jesus gave applies to you and me. Do you have the courage to stand for truth, to love our enemies, to persevere when things seem difficult or impossible, to lead others to know Jesus Christ? Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete, to give us that courage. It is our vision today in the Diocese of St Petersburg to courageously live the Gospel: to proclaim, invite, and encounter. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, may we emerge from this pandemic and go forth in our circles to proclaim, invite and encounter Christ in our own lives and to invite others to do the same. -Bishop Gregory Parkes THE RICHNESS OF THE SPIRIT Students, and most adults recalling their school days, are familiar with the phrase “compare and contrast” that shows up from time to time on tests. Today we hear two different accounts of the giving of the Holy Spirit to the church. Let’s contrast, then compare. Luke’s account from Acts is filled with arresting details: the mighty wind from heaven, the tongues of flame, the miracle of different languages. John’s account seems timid: fearful disciples, the wounded Christ, the expelling of breath from his risen body, not from the sky. Our literal, modern minds wonder which way it happened; our noisy culture probably makes us prefer the former. But if we compare the two, we find that the dazzling richness of the Spirit fills both accounts, for it is the very breath of the risen Christ, ascended to the sky in Luke, that appears to his disciples in John and sends his followers forth to carry on his mission of forgiving sin and proclaiming the mighty acts of God.
