GOD’S PROVIDENCE Today’s readings celebrate God’s providence. No matter how wonderful (or heartbreaking) our relationships are, God always provides for us. No one cares for us the way God does. Isaiah delights us with a deeply intimate image of God caring for us “as a mother comforts her child.” The prophet describes us not as the usual “children of God,” but as “babies.” We should not resist this image, but rejoice in it. Trusting in God’s care, we can all let down our guard and rest like infants in the lap of our mother. Saint Paul’s trust in God allows him to be at peace like this. He boldly declares that no one can “make troubles” for him, because he has given himself completely to Jesus. And when Jesus sends his disciples out to preach and heal, he challenges them not to provide for themselves, but to let faith be their guide. TODAY’S READINGS First Reading —As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you (Isaiah 66:10-14c). Psalm — Let all the earth cry out to God with joy (Psalm 66). Second Reading — May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ (Galatians 6:14-18). Gospel — Jesus sends out the seventy-two (Luke 10:1-12, 17-20 [1-9]). READINGS FOR THE WEEK Monday: Gn 28:10-22a; Ps 91:1-4, 14-15ab; Mt 9:18-26 Tuesday: Gn 32:23-33; Ps 17:1b, 2-3, 6-7ab, 8b, 15; Mt 9:32-38 Wednesday: Gn 41:55-57; 42:5-7a, 17-24a; Ps 33:2-3, 10-11, 18-19; Mt 10:1-7 Thursday: Gn 44:18-21, 23b-29; 45:1-5; Ps 105:16-21; Mt 10:7-15 Friday: Gn 46:1-7, 28-30; Ps 37:3-4, 18-19, 27-28, 39-40; Mt 10:16-23 Saturday: Gn 49:29-32; 50:15-26a; Ps 105:1-4, 6-7; Mt 10:24-33 Sunday: Dt 30:10-14; Ps 69:14, 17, 30-31, 33-34, 36, 37; or 19:8-11; Col 1:15-20; Lk 10:25-37

Offertory totals will be in the next bulletin. Prayer for Protection against Storms & Hurricanes O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed Your order and returned to its former quietude. You are still the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow of a danger over which we have no control: the Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land, and spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season we turn to You, O loving Father. Spare us from past Tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with passing of time. O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our beloved Mother, we ask you to Plead with your Son on our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the heavenly Jerusalem, where stormless eternity awaits us. Amen.
Please pray for those who are suffering from illness in our parish. Prayer list names remain on the prayer list for 3 months. 14th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
JULY 7, 2019
Father Michael Cormier was born in Leominster, Massachusetts on July 15, 1964 to Raymond and Pauline (LeBlanc) Cormier. He was baptized at St. Francis Catholic Church, in Leominster. His education was through the public-school system, where he enjoyed music and art. He graduated from Billerica Memorial High School in 1982 and later attended the Massachusetts College of Art for one year, followed by 1-1/2 years at St. John’s Seminary, in Brighton, Massachusetts. Taking some time away from seminary life, Father Cormier spent nine years as a laboratory technician for DuPont, spending much of his time in cancer research. After moving with his parents to Citrus County, Florida, he worked for a short time as an animal technician in a veterinary clinic. During this time, he continued to utilize his artistic talents in the area of drawing and wood carving. One of Father Cormier’s favorite hobbies was creating decoys from photos of various types of ducks (for full article see our parish website). Still, the Lord was persistent in calling Father Cormier to the priesthood. In 1992, he entered St. John Vianney College Seminary, in Miami and was later accepted into St. Fr. Mike’s Sample Art Work Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary, in Boynton Beach, where he received his Master of Divinity degree. Father Michael Cormier was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of St. Petersburg on May 13, 2000 by Bishop Robert N. Lynch.
Florida Catholic article from 1999
In the nineteen years since his ordination, Father Cormier has served as Parochial Vicar of St. Paul Parish, St. Petersburg (2000-2005) and St. Cecelia Parish, Clearwater (2005-2007) and as Pastor of St. James Parish, Port Richey, where he has provided excellent leadership for the past twelve years. He has also served the Diocese of St. Petersburg as Vicar Forane (Dean) of the West Central Deanery and as Pastor of Bishop Larkin Catholic School, in Port Richey. In May, following the recommendation of the diocesan Clergy Personnel Board, Bishop Gregory Parkes appointed Father Cormier as Pastor of Incarnation Parish. 4

LECTURAS DE LA SEMANA Gn 28:10-22a; Sal 91 (90):1-4, 14-15ab; Mt 9:18-26 Martes: Gn 32:23-33; Sal 17 (16):1b, 2-3, 6-7ab, 8b, 15; Mt 9:32-38 Miércoles: Gn 41:55-57; 42:5-7a, 17-24a; Sal 33 (32):2-3, 10-11, 18-19; Mt 10:1-7 Jueves: Gn 44:18-21, 23b-29; 45:1-5; Sal 105 (104):16-21; Mt 10:7-15 Viernes: Gn 46:1-7, 28-30; Sal 37 (36):3-4, 18-19, 27-28, 39-40; Mt 10:16-23 Sábado: Gn 49:29-32; 50:15-26a; Sal 105 (104):1-4, 6-7; Mt 10:24-33 Domingo: Dt 30:10-14; Sal 69 (68):14, 17, 30-31, 33-34, 36, 37 o 19 (18):8-11; Col 1:15-20; Lc 10:25-37 Lunes:
