CONFESSIONS/Confesiones:

LISTEN TO JESUS AND THE PROPHETS Prophets have always had a tough row to hoe. Their words, often unwelcome, are used against them to persecute and even kill them. Such was the fate of the Old Testament prophets, and Jeremiah is a great example of this. Jesus endured opposition from sinners, and did not turn back from a shameful death in order to rise to a glorious new life. The ultimate prophet, Jesus sought to warn the people of his time and ours of the divisions that his words would cause, showing himself to be the prophet of all time. We all need to look at our divisions and dilemmas in light of Jesus’ teachings and warnings, and seek to understand all that he has proclaimed and taught about what will happen if we fail to listen.

Why register with your Parish? By registering at a parish, you are declaring your desire to be part of a Catholic faith community. If you have recently moved to the area or if you are a long-time resident, please consider registering. You can pick up a form in the main entrance of the church, or stop by the office and fill out the form. The registration form is also available online at www.icctampa.org on the home page, click on the Register under the “About Us” menu. This is especially important during a time of crisis so that the pastoral staff can attend to your spiritual needs and the needs of your family. • Registration helps you stay connected with your parish and helps your parish stay connected with you. Providing your contact information is important so that parishes provide you timely updates via email, direct mail, phone, etc. Once you are registered, please notify the parish office of any changes in address or phone number. • Registered active members are eligible for sponsor/godparent validation. • Census numbers may determine how many priests are assigned to a parish and how many Masses and enrichment programs are planned and scheduled. 4

Night English Bible Study Group

Incarnation’s Tuesday Night English Bible Study Group will begin Ascension Press’ eight week study, “Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible” on September 3rd from 7:00-9:00pm. The Bible is at the heart of our faith and our relationship with God. It is the place where our Heavenly Father speaks to us with love. It is a rich source of wisdom, encouragement, instruction and solace. In this study, dynamic presenter Jeff Cavins will show you how to read the Bible so that you can actually understand it. Aided by a color-coded Bible TimelineTM Chart that arranges the key people, places, and events of Scripture in chronological order, Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible will help you discover the story of salvation history and understand how you fit into God’s marvelous plan of salvation. The cost for a workbook is $19.95. Each participant will also need a Catholic bible and should have access to a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. For additional information or to enroll, please call either Donna Burch at 813-541-8506 or Peggy Kelly at 813-855-8025.

LECTURAS DE LA SEMANA Jue 2:11-19; Sal 106 (105):34-37, 39-40, 43ab, 44; Mt 19:16-22 Martes: Jue 6:11-24a; Sal 85 (84):9, 11-14; Mt 19:23-30 Miércoles: Jue 9:6-15; Sal 21 (20):2-7; Mt 20:1-16 Jueves: Jue 11:29-39a; Sal 40 (39):5, 7-10; Mt 22:1-14 Viernes: Rut 1:1, 3-6, 14b-16, 22; Sal 146 (145):5-10; Mt 22: Lunes:
