AWAITING THE SALVATION OF GOD The world does not seem big enough to contain the jubilation of the first reading. In the Gospel reading, the Roman empire isn’t big enough, either. The great powers of Rome are named and made to stand waiting for the arrival of God’s salvation. And we find Paul meditating joyfully on what really matters. According to Baruch, the city of Jerusalem is like a person standing on tiptoe looking for God’s salvation, which is coming from the east. Those who were led away on foot, heads down, now come back, a proud people. Why, the very way is smoothed out. The path is lined with fragrant, lush trees. It can’t get any better than this, can it? Well, yes, it can. For a voice calls out in the desert. Here is the beginning of the salvation of God.

TODAY in St. Michael's Hall after all masses.

SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT

Who are we, what are we about? We are Catholic women 18 years of age and older, who work side by side with the Knights of Columbus. We are presently established in the United States and Canada. At present time we have 50 Auxiliaries in Florida alone, and are still growing. Please join and become a member of # 8612 Incarnation Auxiliary. For more information about us please call President Jennifer Clavell 813-244-8039, or Membership Chairman Dale Zgurzynski 813-885-5228 Also you don’t need to be married to a Knight to have membership with us.

December 9, 2018

Please join us on Saturday, December 15th for our first Advent Eucharistic Adoration Day. We will begin at 9:00am (immediately following the 8:30am Mass) in the Church with a Patriotic Rosary. Then we will have silent Eucharistic Adoration until 4:00pm. Please consider signing up to spend at least one hour with our Lord. We will have a signup sheet in the church foyer. Please contact Cheralyn Quevedo at (813) 5239349 (cell), (813) 884-3624 (office) or email at reled@icctampa.org if you have any questions or would like to sign up.

Support the Retirement Fund for Religious. Aging religious need your help. Senior Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests ministered for years for little to no pay. Their sacrifices now leave their religious communities without adequate retirement savings. Your gift to today’s second collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious helps to provide medications, nursing care, and more for tens of thousands of elderly religious. Please be generous.

We are planning a Pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament at the Our Lady of the Angels Monastery in Hanceville, Alabama in mid February. If you are interested in going, please contact 813-884-8326 or call the Parish Office to leave your name and contact information.

Sean generosos.
