I pray these lines find all doing well. I pray that you had a very joyful and Blessed Christmas. Mine was great, celebrations and Masses were flawless and the celebration with friends was the best! (Hope springs eternal!!! Once again, I am writing this way in advance I’m currently writing on December 16th). I always loved going to Mass this weekend with my family because the readings are about family. We would always bust each-others chops by punching each-other in the knee as our titles were mentioned. “The Lord sets a father in honor over his children,” I’d take a knee hit (obviously light ones, after all we were in Church.) “Confirms a mother’s authority over her son” I would take a hit from Mom. But I always got the last hit “Son, be good to your father even if his mind fails” Dad got the hit. Mom and Dad are both in Heaven now, but I so fondly remember those times and the amazing memories will always remain. During this weekend may you come to cherish your family. Enjoy the time you get to spend with them, each year is a gift, and nothing is ever worth staying away from family. I pray that all of you have a blessed and Happy New Year! Love, Fr. Mike
