I pray these lines find all doing well. All is well here at “Incarnation Central.” I am very happy to announce that we have made APA 2019 the Annual Pastoral Appeal given by the diocese. I cannot begin to THANK all those responsible for making this a reality, your generosity in this matter is such a gift!!! Today in our Gospel we see the wisdom of years, many years to be more specific. Both Simeon and Ana were both advanced in years and spent much of their time in the temple. God had given each of them a revelation and this revelation came true in the presentation of Jesus, by his parents in the temple. They both trusted in God’s word and were rewarded for their consistent faith. In my time as a priest it is very rare that one who is young has a very strong/connected faith. It is the gift of years and wisdom that we are not in charge that gives us our docility and openness in the faith. There are those who have told me that – the reason why older people attend Mass more than the younger is that “They are studying for Finals” to turn a phrase, they will see God soon and want to be ready. This simply is not the case. With Age comes wisdom, the “older “people have simply learned to give it all over to God and trust in Him. It all comes from God anyway but at a younger age we think we direct and control our own lives and Yes, we have freedom BUT following God alone leads to true peace and joy! Have a great week! Have You Been Confirmed yet? As Catholics … the three sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist are what are required to become fully initiated into the Church. If you are 18 or older and have never been Confirmed, this might be your blessed day. Incarnation will be having Adult Confirmation classes beginning in January 27th. They will be offered in English in the evenings beginning at 7:00pm. Classes will also be offered in Spanish in the near future. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Deacon Jim Minary and his wife Linda to Incarnation parish. I had the pleasure of working with Deacon and Linda while I was at St. James in Port Richey Florida. They have moved and now live within our parish boundaries. Last Sunday was the debut of the Spanish mass children’s choir! Congratulations to David Funes our music director and his assistant Angel Val on their efforts in working to organize and build up the choir. The children will be singing on the last Sunday of the month at the Spanish mass. Coming soon… David plans on having a children’s choir to sing at an English mass. 5

La Presentación del Señor
Le pido al Señor que al recibir estas líneas estén disfrutando de la salud del alma y del cuerpo. Todo anda bién por aquí, en nuestra Parroquia Encarnación. Me place comunicarles que hemos cumplido con el monto asignado por nuestra diocesis para la pelación Pastoral Annual (APA) de 2019. No tengo suficiente palabras para agradecerles su generosidad, la cual es y será siempre, un verdadero regalo. En nuestro Evangelio para el día de hoy podemos apreciar la sabiduria de los años. Tanto Simeón como Ana estaban avanzados en edad y empleaban mucho de su tiempo en el Templo. Dios le había dado una revelación a cada uno, y esa revelación se hizo realidad en la presentacion de Jesús, por sus padres, en el Templo. Ambos confiaron en la palabra de Dios y del mismo modo fueron bendecidos por mantener su fé. Durante mi tiempo como sacerdote, he notado que no es común que una persona joven tenga una estrecha conección con su fé. Por lo regular, es la vivencia de los años, la que trae consigo la sabiduría que nos enseña la docilidad y la apertura a la fé. Algunas personas me han dicho que – la razón por la cual un mayor número de personas mayores asisten a la Misa, es porque “ Ellos están estudiando para los examenes finales”; en otras palabras, saben que pronto estarán en la presencia de Dios y quieren estár preparados. Sencillamente, eso no es verdad. Con la edad viene la sabiduria, las personas “mayores” simplemente han aprendido a ponerlo todo en las manos del Señor y confiar en “El. De todas maneras, todo viene de Dios, pero en la juventud creemos que controlamos y dirigimos nuestra propia vida, de hecho, tenemos la libertad de hacer eso, PERO solamente siguiendo los caminos de Dios encontraremos paz y gozo!
