I pray these lines find all doing well. All is great here at Incarnation Central. This weekend our parish welcomes Fr. Chuck Dornquast who is our vocation director for our Diocese. Father is really a great guy and a blessing to have in our diocese. I think Fr. Chuck is taller than Fr. Brian. I’m starting to feel more and more like I should join the Lolipop Guild with the munchkins on the Wizard of Oz. LOL We are giving all of you a gift, we are not preaching this weekend, Fr. Chuck will be speaking at all Masses. Although all Gospels feed us and change our lives and thought processes for the better today is one of my favorite Gospels, probably good I’m not preaching – it would have been a long one. My favorite part of this Gospel is something that so many people who read it – breeze over, but it really has to be looked at. Jesus is very clear “… if you bring your gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother, then come and offer your gift …” I know so many people who truly do love the Lord BUT they harbor grudges, will not speak to certain people, are quick to point out the faults others have committed and think themselves holier than others (this translates to people thinking that they are somehow holier and better than others when they are presently in sin because they will not forgive, let go of, and speak of and focus on others faults.) How can we possibly say we love God who we cannot see if we cannot love our brother/ sister who is right before us?! And don’t even get me started on the rest of the Gospel!!! LOL I pray you have a great week and please look at your situation to make sure you are at peace with everyone, if you are not please do all you can to reconcile. Not my words – Jesus’. God Bless You All!! Have a great week! Love, Fr. Mike

Gospel — Jesus has come not to abolish but to fulfill the law and the prophets (Matthew 5:17-37 [20-22a, 27-28, 33-34a, 37]).

Safe Haven Sunday—Equipping the Family: Having Critical Conversations The constant flood of influence that comes through the internet and social media in all of its various forms, along with social pressures from peers make it difficult for children to live virtuous and holy lives. In the digital age, it’s not a matter of if your child will see something inappropriate online. It’s only a matter of when. And regrettably, internet pornography is teaching our children how and what to think about sex and marriage. Next weekend, February 22-23, 2020, the Diocese of St. Petersburg will be celebrating our second annual Safe Haven Sunday. This weekend of awareness will provide free resources to you to give you confidence for how to talk to your children about internet dangers, as well as their personal online and offline choices. Please join us with your prayers and presence as we prepare for this unique event. To learn more, please visit https://www.dosp.org/ 3 freedom-from-porn.
