Having the Courage to Share the Good News Sometimes it seems like no matter what Jesus did, no matter how difficult or impossible, there were always people who doubted and would not believe. He wanted to convince people to follow Him, to believe that a man could be raised from the dead and that those who believe that He is the son of God will also have eternal life. On the surface it seems like an impossible task. Who would believe this man? After all, He was the son of a carpenter. No man could do this; but Jesus could. And yet. there were those who still refused to believe. Jesus proved His words through actions, by performing miracles, such as making the blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk, and even bringing a dead man back to life as he did with Lazarus in this weekend’s Gospel. After seeing this, how could someone not believe? But some didn’t believe or refused to do so. Once the doubters saw the miracles, some became fearful because their authority and power was threatened by Jesus. We all know the rest of the story. Over 2000 years later, we still believe…but doubt can still enter our minds. In John’s Gospel this weekend about the story of the raising of Lazarus, Jesus wants to convince the Jews that He is the son of God, and that whoever believes in Him, though they may experience physical death, will live forever. We see miracles every day in our own lives, big ones and small ones. It takes courage not only to step out in faith and believe, but to tell others to do the same. Do you have that courage to proclaim that Jesus is your personal savior and to share that with others? When you’re facing moments of doubt regarding your faith, ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten your heart to know that Jesus is Lord and you can do all things through Him who gives you strength. -Bishop Gregory Parkes, Diocese of St. Petersburg I pray these lines find all doing well and staying home! We, the parish staff and clergy are doing what we can to not cause further spread of the virus, working from home and not going out unnecessarily. All of us are well to date and we pray it stays that way and hope all of you are remaining healthy. Every parish generally celebrates Holy Week and Easter in a specific way with little personal touches here and there. I have no doubt that my first Easter here at Incarnation is going to be one to remember – I can almost promise it will be like nothing any of us have ever experienced! During this time our faith is the greatest gift any of us can have! It is given to each and every one of us, and FAITH will never run out. In fact, it has the ability to grow in us and strengthen us. Having faith does not mean that we are not concerned for the health and wellbeing of those we love as well as ourselves. Having faith means that we never lose sight of the fact that God is right with us, walking this road that we are on presently. This weekend’s Gospel recounts Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. This Gospel ties in well with what we are presently going through, allow me to explain; Lazarus had died and was gone already four days before Jesus arrived. Martha and Mary had to be devastated – and rightly so. But it was Martha’s faith that maintained her trust in Jesus. Martha said, “But even now (after Lazarus’ death) I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.” … Jesus told her. ‘I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies will live. Do you believe this?’ She said to Him, yes Lord, I have come to believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God.” Jesus asked Martha – “Do you believe this?” The Lord can obviously do anything he wants but, He chooses to require our faith in some instances before He will act. Jesus IS walking this road with each one of us. His question to Martha should echo in our own ears – “Do you believe this?”- that I am with you always. My personal prayer is that each and every one of you respond – “YES.” In order to get through this, definitely pray- but also communicate with those you love by texting, calling, however you keep in touch. Lots of people are watching TV shows and movies. Speaking from personal experience this can take us out of the reality we are presently in and distract us. However, when the movie or show is over, we get catapulted back into our reality. I believe the norm is to try not to think about the outbreak but that only instills fear. When our present situation is personally set before our mind and attention, it is then that we bring Jesus with us. We know in our mind that He loves us and cares for us but, in our hearts, He is asking the question – “Do you believe this?” All of us have been through tough times before and we have gotten through. Hold fast to Jesus and remember the words we hear from (ROMANS 8:37) “WE TRIUMPH OVER ALL THESE THINGS THROUGH HIM WHO LOVED US.” So that you know it’s me, I will always give you really bad jokes – “What kind of Jam cannot be eaten? – a traffic jam // Why did the stadium get hot? -All the fans left. God bless your week and please be assured of my prayers!! -Love, Fr. Mike

A simple vista parece algo imposible.
