In this day and age of paperless communication, Incarnation Parish is getting on board by reaching out to our parishioners via email. We invite you to join our Parish Email list(s) in order that we may better communicate to you different things going on in the parish, things such as the development of our relationship with our mission parish in the Dominican Republic, the upcoming Carnival, or various opportunities for ministry, just to name a few. Joining our email list(s) is very simple. Just go to our parish website homepage (www.icctampa.org) and scroll to the bottom, and enter your email address into the "Join Our Email List" box. At that point, you will be asked to confirm your email address, select the email lists you wish to be included on, and give us your basic contact information. It's that easy and should take no more than about a minute or two to complete. For those who text you can also join our email list by texting the word INCARNATION to 22828 and follow the instructions. Also, be assured that your personal information, including your email address, will not be sold or given to anyone. It's simply to ensure that we can reach out to you whether you are at home or away. Thank you for your cooperation and for your continued support of the parish.

FAITH FORMATION’S 2013 LENTEN MISSION

This year the children will be collecting money during Lent for our sister Parish, Espiritu Santo in the Dominican Republic. Each class will be adopting a child from their boy’s home and all monies collected by the class will be sent to help that child. The children will be praying for their adopted friend and sending letters to him as well. The home needs $75.00 a month for each child for their care. Parents please have your child “earn” the money for their new friend by doing chores around the house or something extra during lent. Please stop by their classroom to see a picture of the child they are adopting. You and your family are asked to pray for the child as well. REMINDER – NO Faith Formation this Sunday. Sessions resume next Sunday.

Please keep in prayer all the Confirmation Candidates and volunteers who are participating in this year’s Confirmation Retreat this weekend.

ATTENTION YOUTH OF OUR PARISH!!! Come and join other teens in your parish on Friday nights from 7:30PM – 9:00PM in St. John’s Room. Stop by and see what’s happening!!

The 2nd Sunday of Lent TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION By now, many may have failed in Lenten discipline to some measure or another: the daily doughnut is simply too alluring, or a furtive puff on a cigarette irresistible. There is meaning even in the failure, though, a kind of reminder that we cannot save ourselves. Part of the power of Lent is that we do it together, and although individuals decide on different ways to keep it, it is fundamentally the same journey. We fall, we get up, we keep moving. The desire to "give something up" for Lent is an age-old impulse in the Christian heart. We get better at it over the years, and move more deeply into the meaning and message of acts of sacrifice; so there is no shame in stumbling, as long as we are not discouraged by the failure and give up. We are clearing space in our lives, after all, and some of the things we desire to give up are worth rooting out completely anyway. What do we do with the space we have cleared out by our sacrifice? The Lenten question of giving up is balanced by the

Pensar en qué he ofendido a Dios, nuestro Señor y si realmente estoy arrepentido.
