THE WAYS OF LOVE One can feel the energy of a young, growing church in today's first reading. For Paul and Barnabas, it's smooth sailing. For the sponsoring church at Antioch, good news. The second reading--a vision--offers a picture of triumph, pure and simple. We might paraphrase God's direct words to read: "Don't you see? I make all things new!" The young church remains new and young to this day if and when it follows the command Jesus lays down in the Gospel: "Love one another." The attitude and actions of love define the disciples and identify them with their master. Every person on this earth can be a disciple. For discipleship does not depend on learning or sophistication or age or arcane knowledge of secret cults. We are asked to study and practice the ways of love, right here and right now in the company of ordinary people. Copyright (c) J. S. Paluch Co.

It's no secret; Altar Serving is one of the coolest things you can do as a young Catholic: sitting with the priests, getting to carry the cross and candles, learning how to use all the special vessels that usually only the priests get to touch... As far as life experiences go, Altar Serving is hard to beat. And if you think Altar Servers are cool on an ordinary Sunday, you should see us at Christmas and Easter! Now's your chance to join this exciting and important ministry, or even just find out more! If you are:
Baptized Catholic
Receiving Communion regularly Starting the 5th grade or older in the Fall ... come see what we are all about!
A banquet immediately follows in St. Michael's Hall. Sitting is limited and reservation is required. Donation $35.00 per person
On May 11, we are starting training for NEW altar servers who wish to begin serving at Mass over the summer. If you'd like to attend this session to find out what it's like to be an altar server, now is your chance! But you have to register first. There are three ways to register. Have your parents: Send your name, age, grade, and phone number to iccaltarservers@gmail.com; OR visit http://icctampa.org/altarservers and fill out the form under "How to become an Altar Server"; OR Call the parish office an leave a message for the altar server coordinator with your name, age, grade and phone number Once we get your information, we'll sign you up for training and contact you with the details for May 11th or another training date.
