Incarnation Music Ministry 2011– 2012 As the school year winds down and the summer season kicks in, it is time to rest and reflect after a truly amazing year in Music Ministry at Incarnation. In the space of a year, our music ministry has grown to new heights in both faith and community. We have done service projects like Music for Food 2011, we have joined together as one parish family to celebrate the birth of our Lord at Christmas with our bilingual “Incarnation Christmas Concert and Pot Luck”. We have travelled across the Atlantic to Rome and the Vatican to sing before Pope Benedict XVI. At Easter we performed our first stage production in many years “That you may have life”. Most importantly of all, we have come together week after week to lead our parish family in song and prayer for the Celebration of the Eucharist. I am honored and proud to be part of this vivacious, dynamic and energetic music ministry and to serve as Music Minister for the Parish of Incarnation, Tampa. We have lots to be proud and thankful for. I am most thankful to the members of the music ministry, people just like you, who were sitting in the pew and answered the call to serve their parish in active ministry. The invitation is always there and the door is always open to you. YOU ARE NEEDED and YOU ARE WELCOME. Last year we were blessed to bring on staff Seth Bowser. Mr. Bowser worked in our parish school and played and sang so beautifully in our masses. He is moving on at the end of this month, along with his wife to greener pastures. We wish him well and many blessings in all he lays his hand to in the future and hope that his time here at Incarnation was as spirit filled for him, as it was for us to have him with us. I thank the many volunteers and staff who work to make our music ministry the success and professional program that we have come to expect and love and we thank all those who support us in prayer, talent, time and treasure. As of yet, our prayers have not been answered for a new organ but in time I am sure a group of generous benefactors will grace us with funds to fill this need in our ministry. Until then, we will continue to make a joyful noise unto the Lord and remember in the words of St. Augustine “ Those who sing, Pray twice” - Mr. Donal P. Noonan

Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
June 17, 2012 Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time June 17, 2012 They that are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. —Psalm 92:14 GOD’S TIME We either pay attention to or ignore “clock time” as we play in the summer sun and note the earth’s tilt and the lengthening days. We live by time. We reckon time in seconds and minutes and hours, or we use broader chunks like suppertime and summertime. God keeps another sort of time. God speaks to us of “saving time,” that is, the time of salvation. This sense of time is called kairos, and this time is always now, always present and available, always revealing, often surprising. This Sunday’s readings alert us to the reality and the import of God’s time. Ezekiel and the Gospel of Mark remind us that our labor and our plotting and our planning rest in God. For God takes our smallest efforts and makes of them great works. Paul points us to the “harvest” time, urges us to be watchful for its coming, and calls us to recognize that we must spend our time pleasing God. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

Lk 1:57-66, 80 PRAYER OF THE WEEK O God, strength of those who hope in you, graciously hear our pleas, and, since without you mortal frailty can do nothing, grant us always the help of your grace, that in following your commands we may please you by our resolve and our deeds. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Reflection question: In what ways do I need the help of God’s grace?
TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION The reign of God comes about because people commit to reversing their lives completely, to embracing new vision, new values. Many popular television shows exploit an unattractive side of human nature by pitting contestants against one another, even to the point of performing dangerous stunts or devious schemes, to gain money or favor. At the liturgy, we counter that impulse by committing ourselves to live generously. In response to Christ’s total gift, we offer bread and wine as the emblems of our lives, our hopes, our joys and sorrows. The bread and wine carried to the altar contain our lives, and by offering our lives to God, we prepare to receive the gift of God’s own life. We are to become what we receive: the body of Christ. On Sundays, this self-giving is often accompanied by a collection and procession of gifts for the poor and money for the upkeep of the parish. There are certainly other methods of collecting money, some perhaps more efficient. Yet the act of giving from our abundance, and attending to the needs of the poor, opens us up to participation in the changes the Reign of God requires. —James Field, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

On April 12, the Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Liberty of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) issued a document, "Our First, Most Cherished Liberty,” outlining the bishops’ concerns over threats to religious freedom, both at home and abroad. The bishops called for a Fortnight for Freedom, a 14-day period of prayer, education and action in support of religious freedom, from June 21July 4. The Diocese of St. Petersburg is joining dioceses nationwide to highlight the importance of defending our religious freedom.
Bishop Lynch will be celebrating a special Mass in recognition of the Fortnight for Freedom on Friday, June 29, 2012, at 7:30pm at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tampa. All are invited to attend.
What can you do to ensure the protection of religious freedom? To learn more about our first freedom, and to send your message to HHS and Congress telling them to stand up for religious liberty and conscience rights, go to www.usccb.org/conscience today! Thank you for joining the effort to end this unprecedented government coercion of conscience and intrusion in religious affairs.

© Nuestra Parroquia.
FESTIVAL DE MANUALIDADES Y ARTE Atención: ¡Se necesitan exhibidores!

A menudo sorprendente. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
