We have lots of fun!
Special Education Ministry Introducing our Saturday Bible Class We meet every other Saturday at 3:00 during the school year until 4:15pm and then many of the students attend the 4:30 mass. If you are a regular at the Saturday, 4:30 mass you may have seen some of the students assisting the usher’s with the Offertory collection and at communion time. This is very rewarding for them and they love to wear their blue blazers and the badges given to them by the Knights of Columbus.
We are a very interactive group; each student is issued a Journal in which they record the gospel reading, arts and craft project of that week. The visual hands on experience is very enlightening. On special occasions such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentines Day, we prepare a project to distribute to the residents at Woodbridge Nursing Home and Assisted Living. The students understand and get excited about these projects. We are sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and are extremely grateful for their
long time support of our faith community students. When you see the Knights outside local grocery stores during their “Tootsie Roll Drive” please contribute! Your support benefits us and other agencies . We go on Field trips. We’ve been to MOSI, Aquarium, Lowry Park Zoo and Bowling, and afterward we share a meal. We have a sing along Christmas party and a year end party; issuing a certificate of completion for the year. Many of the students work and rely on public transportation.

MISSION Today's first reading from Isaiah was occasioned by the return of the Jewish people from exile. The prophet visualizes the Holy City as a mother welcoming her children home. The people may now look forward to prosperity and comfort. In this post-Pentecostal season, the Church attributes this sense of fulfillment to the Holy Spirit. Paul, on the other hand, speaks of "the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ." It is the single thing of which he will boast, for it is the means by which we are re-created. The comfort and prosperity promised in the first reading are here transformed by a deepening of the Christian paradox. Luke's Gospel describes the calling and the mission of "seventytwo others," who are commissioned to bring in the "harvest." The number is symbolic, since according to Jewish tradition the number of nations in the world is seventy-two. This then is a universal mission, a catholic mission to all the world. Copyright (c) J. Decimocuarto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario 7 de julio de 2013 No permita Dios que yo me gloríe en algo que no sea la cruz de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. — Gálatas 6:14 Domingo 7 de Julio. Domingo 14 Tiempo Ordinario Reflexionando la Palabra de Dios Decía un fiel católico que durante la semana solía compartir el evangelio y la homilía con los compañeros de trabajo. El domingo llena el tanque y luego empapa a los otros en el camino de la vida. La misión es universal. Es la misión de todos, "Jesús los envió de dos en dos". Vemos a los hermanos de otras religiones ir de dos en dos ofreciendo una Biblia nueva, una iglesia nueva, una fe nueva. Para nosotros "de dos en dos" significa más que una manera de hacer prosélitos o proclamar el mensaje. Para nosotros "de dos en dos" significa que la fe tiene que ser vivida en comunión con los hermanos, que la fe, la Eucaristía y la salvación no es un asunto privado sino que pertenece a toda la comunidad. A veces algunas personas dicen: yo rezo, yo creo en Dios, incluso bailo para Dios…El "yo" tiene que disminuir y el "nosotros" tiene que crecer, si queremos hacer el trabajo de Dios. Aquí, en la asamblea eucarística, brilla el nosotros ampliado y santificado por Jesús que nos reúne y nos envía a todos como obreros de su cosecha. Jesús los envió y nos envía sin dinero, sin talega. Y nos envía como corderos en medio de lobos para recordarnos que siempre necesitamos escuchar, mirar y seguir al pastor, a Jesús. Para hacer el trabajo de Dios no necesitamos poder ni millones ni doctorados ni mucho equipaje. Para hacer el trabajo de Dios necesitamos el poder de Dios. Una profunda relación con el que nos envía es más importante que cualquier otra cosa. Los discípulos tienen que recordar que es Dios quien tiene que trabajar a través de nosotros. Nunca debemos caer en la tentación de creer que la misión y el éxito es nuestro. Todos somos pecadores, tarros agrietados y el agua de la salvación que llevamos es obra de Dios. "Paz a esta casa" sea su saludo. Este fue el saludo de Jesús. Paz es plenitud, armonía, bienestar, amistad con Dios y con los hermanos. Paz es la gran bendición de Dios. Y la tenemos que llevar a todos y ser felices constructores de la paz. Nosotros somos tinajas agrietadas y nos usa de diferentes maneras. No deberíamos avergonzarnos de nosotros. No es cuestión de cuanto valemos o de cuán perfectos somos, es cuestión de disponibilidad. La gente adquiere muchas habilidades. En el servicio de Dios hay una habilidad que es la más grande y necesaria de todas. La disponibilidad. Si no estamos disponibles para Dios, por más habilidades que tengamos no sirven de nada. Hay personas que piensan que Dios no las puede usar porque no tienen grandes habilidades o talentos especiales. Dios nunca nos preguntará por nuestras habilidades, sólo nos preguntará si estamos disponibles para trabajar para Él, para ser su embajador, su testigo. P. Jairo Una reflexión en voz alta Todos somos conscientes de que la Eucaristía (la Misa) ha sido un gran regalo de Dios; pero ¿está sirviendo de mucho? Si miramos la cantidad de cristianos que "van por obligación", si miramos la cantidad de comunidades cristianas que siguen desunidas a pesar de sus múltiples Eucaristías, si vemos la cantidad de niños que dicen que el día de su Primera Comunión es el día más feliz de su vida, y quizás no vuelvan hasta..., si vemos la cantidad de cristianos de misa dominical e incluso diaria, explotadores y agrios, si vemos... uno se pregunta qué pasa, si valió la pena que Cristo se quedara en la Eucaristía...
La Eucaristía es un talento en buena parte enterrado, es la gran responsabilidad cristiana... Pero hay que decir que Cristo sabe esperar y sabe morir aceptando incluso no dar fruto, y asimismo sabe muy bien que para muchos, para muchísimos, la Eucaristía ha sido medicina de héroes, la fuerza que les ha hecho y mantenido en el amor más exigente, pese a todos los inconvenientes que tenían en contra. Mientras haya Eucaristía habrá cristianos de verdad, junto a los mediocres. Es necesario saberlo y tomar las decisiones oportunas para educar en y para la Comunidad.

El cuadro se llevó a una capilla que tenía don Antonio y estuvo allí durante diez años, pero la humedad y las malas condiciones de la habitación deterioraron la pintura hasta que quedó completamente borrosa. A la muerte de don Antonio, su viuda se trasladó a Chiquinquirá, llevando su cuadro consigo, pero la pintura estaba en tal mal estado, que se quedo arrinconada en un cuarto. En 1586, María Ramos, otra mujer, reparo el oratorio de la casa de los Santana y colgó allí el deteriorado cuadro. Un día paso por allí una mujer indígena con su hijo y se quedo admirada al ver que el cuadro estaba recobrando, por sí mismo, sus colores y su brillo original y que la tela estaba como nueva. Con tal maravilloso suceso comenzó la devoción a la Virgen de Chiquinquirá en Colombia.
