Safe Environment Training for anyone working with children or vulnerable adults will be held on August 14th from 6:00-9:00PM in St. Michael’s Hall. Please register with the Faith Formation Office if you need to take this training. Registration will not begin until July 22nd. This is not training for Eucharistic Ministers to the homebound.

Preparation for First Communion and Confirmation are done through the Faith Formation Office. Anyone whose child is eligible for the reception of these Sacraments must register their child for a class. Any child attending Incarnation Catholic School must be registered at this time as well. ICS PARENTS: your child will not be automatically registered for workshops.

RITES OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (RCIA) “The Lord said to Abram: ‘Go forth from the land of your kinsfolk and from your father’s house to a land that I will show you….’ Abram went as the Lord directed him…” (Gen. 12:1,4) Are you being called home into the Catholic Church? Do you hunger to know more about Jesus and His Church? Do you feel called to deepen your relationship with Jesus by becoming baptized in His name or by completing your sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion? If you are over the age of 7 and have not been baptized or if you are an adult that needs the Sacraments of First Communion and/ or Confirmation please call Carmen Cayon at 885-7861 or email her at ccayon@icctampa.org for information on how to prepare for receiving these sacraments. Adults will begin meeting on Monday , August 12th at 7:00 pm until 8:30pm in the Parish Conference Room. You are welcome to come and see! No registration is necessary.
If your child is not baptized, is 7 years old and over and has completed one year of Faith Formation Classes or has attended one year of Catholic school education, he/she may be eligible to begin preparation for Baptism through the RCIA adapted for Children process. PINELLAS HOPE RESPITE SERVICES NEEDS VOLUNTEERS Pinellas Hope Respite Services, a program of Catholic Charities - Diocese of St. Petersburg, is in need of volunteers. This program provides temporary emergency shelter for individuals without homes being discharged from the BayCare system who are too medically frail to return to the streets but do not require further hospitalization or skilled nursing facility care. Domingo 28 de Julio. Domingo 17 Tiempo Ordinario Reflexionando la Palabra de Dios Orar es ver a Dios cara a cara, percibir su sonrisa amable y ser señalados y bendecidos con su presencia acogedora y misericordiosa, que todo lo escucha y a todo da respuesta. El libro del Génesis nos presenta a Abraham como amigo que intercede por los hombres en peligro e insiste con Dios a su favor, aun sabiendo que las obras de ellos no van de acuerdo a la voluntad divina. Para salvarlo pide, solicita, ruega e implora. Su oración es eficaz y puede salvar a toda una ciudad. Para distinguir a los suyos de otros creyentes, Jesús enseña a orar; al mismo tiempo les muestra que orar es pedir la llegada de su reino, entregar a Dios los propios afanes y tener esperanza de ser escuchados. ¿Es difícil orar? Hay personas que no han orado nunca, otros lo consideran una pérdida de tiempo y algo inútil en la vida; no falta quienes aprecian la oración y la consideran el primer valor en su vida. La oración expresa y alimenta nuestra relación con Dios. No se comprende la oración sin un clima de amistad y de relación íntima con Dios, como Abrahán. Es preciso tener conciencia de que somos hijos y que nos dirigimos a Dios como a nuestro Padre. Quien ora el Padre nuestro siente la exigencia de vivir un nuevo estilo fundamentado en la construcción del reino de Dios y en la aceptación de la voluntad divina. Los discípulos que querían imitar a su maestro le piden les enseñe con palabras lo que ya les había enseñado con el ejemplo: ¡Señor, enséñanos a orar! Jesús responde a su petición enseñándoles la “oración del cristiano”, la oración que la Iglesia ha querido poner como la “oración por excelencia”, el “Padre Nuestro”, la oración que sin duda más se ha repetido, bien sea dicha en los labios a cualquier hora o bien proclamada en asamblea. Cuando oren digan: “Padre nuestro, santificado sea tu nombre,...” la oración de los hijos, de los hermanos, de los discípulos de Cristo,... de los hombres que ponen su mirada en el Padre celestial e imploran como algo central de sus vidas: “venga tu Reino y hágase tu voluntad”; sin olvidar las necesidades particulares que, precisamente por ser vitales, sabemos son necesidad de nuestros hermanos: “el pan de cada día, el perdón y la protección” de aquel que nos ama y a quien queremos amar. Pero junto a la oración, Jesús enseña el modo de realizarla. La oración de los hijos no se puede realizar sino desde la confianza en el Padre al que se dirige. Cuando uno pide, y ¡hay que pedir!, ha de hacerse con insistencia: “pidan y se les dará, busquen y hallarán, llamen y se les abrirá”, pues el “que pide recibe, el que busca encuentra y al que llama se le abre”. Ciertamente cuando se trata de pedir a Dios, hay que hacerlo como Cristo nos enseña: ¡hágase tu voluntad!, pero sin olvidar que nuestro Padre celestial ama a los suyos mucho más de lo que los padres de la tierra saben hacer: “si los padres saben dar cosas buenas a sus hijos, cuanto más su Padre Celestial dará el Espíritu Santo”. No se trata de solicitar en la oración “caprichos o antojos”, por buenos que sean. Hagamos vital el ejemplo de los discípulos en el evangelio: ¡Señor, enséñanos a orar!... P. Jairo

Se trata de un Ministerio maravilloso, con un profundo impacto espiritual no sólo para aquellos a quienes es dado el Rosario sino también para los que los hacen y distribuyen. Los rosarios hechos con dedicación cariñosa serán donados a nuestra misión Espíritu Santo de La Vega, República Dominicana, a los hogares de ancianos, los enfermos, y para las necesidades de nuestra propia parroquia. Legión de María Praesídium Nuestra Señora de la Luz La Legión de María es una asociación de hombres y mujeres católicos quienes con el permiso de la iglesia y bajo la guía poderosa de María Inmaculada han formado una legión que esta perpetuamente apoyada por la iglesia. Visitamos enfermos en sus hogares, en asilos y hospitales. Acompañamos en funerales y novenarios para difuntos, entre otras actividades espirituales.
