TOWARD HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS From the beginning of creation, God intended for people to live together in relationship with one another. Much of scripture shows us how to do this as it illustrates and clarifies God’s plans. The readings this weekend guide us in the value and care of our relationships. Specifically, the Gospel focuses on the circumstances of failed relationships. Unlike the Pharisees, we would do well not to focus on the laws that pertain to failed relationships, but concentrate instead on what God really intended for us. Healthy bonds require a lot of our time and energy. They certainly require trust and honesty. Jesus demonstrated a deep commitment to his friends and to us. As our brother, he gave his very life for us. Children work hard at friendships. They trust, forgive, and love without conditions. The final words of today’s Gospel invite us to welcome Jesus and the people of our relationships with the fresh enthusiasm of a child. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

e live in a society that has many technological avenues for stimulation and entertainment, one in which the urban population exceeds the non-urban. It is curious that loneliness is a prevalent malady. It is easy to reach out and touch someone, we are told. But—in truth—it is not all that easy, and statistics from the mental health field will reinforce that opinion. Today's readings are about the ways in which we can authentically reach out: God touches Adam to create a mate and end his solitude; God-in-Jesus takes on human flesh and death in order that we might come to glory; Jesus reaches out to the children whom the disciples had tried to keep away, showing us the manner in which we must approach the loving embrace that awaits us in heaven. Until that day, however, we must remember that ours is a sacramental Church, a Church of signs of the love of God. And so we are called to be reaching out continually to ease the loneliness and the barriers that separate us from one another and, therefore, from the love of Christ. hijos y se proyectan en la promoción del bien común de la sociedad y de la Iglesia.
Hace unos días, con la visita del papa Francisco a los Estados Unidos, se daba inicio al VIII Encuentro Mundial de las Familias. Familia ¿quién dices que eres?, fue el tema que el Papa eligió y al que dio también una respuesta: "soy alegría y esperanza"... ‘¡En la Iglesia y en la sociedad es la hora de la familia’!
No podremos entender este pensamiento originario de Dios sobre el matrimonio y la familia si no lo escribimos en clave de amor. Todo amor verdadero viene de Dios, que es amor y a él debe conducir. Por eso para renovar constantemente su don vocacional los casados deben mantenerse en contacto con Dios mediante la fe, la oración y la vida cristiana. Y el Señor les ayudara a vivir en plenitud la dimensión religiosa del matrimonio cristiano, proporcionando así el crecimiento mutuo en el amor.
Hoy, todos dirigen sus ojos a institución familiar. La familia sufre signos de muerte al interior de su ser; sufre ataques mortíferos que provienen del mundo y de la sociedad. El odio interpersonal, la indiferencia, la frialdad, la falta de ternura entre sus miembros; el afán individualista de hacer cada uno su propia vida; el vicio, por pequeño que sea; los diversos géneros de discriminación, de violencia; la infidelidad, son signos de muerte que van minando a la familia hasta llegar a su total destrucción sin medir las consecuencias en los hijos y su futuro en la misma sociedad. La familia se ve afectada en su mismo ser por los males que tolera la sociedad y que los ampara con la ley: el divorcio, la prostitución, el aborto, la discriminación entre el hombre y la mujer y la unión de parejas de un mismo sexo. Cristo Jesús quiere responder a este interrogante y nos invita a considerar la idea original de Dios, pues al comienzo no era igual. Teniendo en cuenta la palabra de Dios y su contexto, la predicación de Jesús y la tradición de la Iglesia podemos decir que el matrimonio, base celular de la familia, es el gran llamado que Dios hace al hombre y a la mujer a formar una comunidad de personas, de vida, de amor, con miras a la búsqueda y consecución de la dicha y felicidad. El matrimonio en el mundo de los creyentes no se entenderá si no lo vemos en clave de la llamada que hace Dios a que determinado hombre con determinada mujer, sellen su alianza nupcial y se conviertan en esposo y esposa en la misma medida en que Cristo sella su alianza nupcial con su esposa, la Iglesia. Esta alianza nupcial da inicio a la comunidad-familia en donde todo es en común: los sentimientos, la vida, los bienes. Esta comunidad-familia genera nuevos tipos de relación la nupcial, la paternal, la filial y la fraterna. El matrimonio se convierte en una comunidad que genera alegría, entusiasmo, bienestar gozoso, que es ayuda en la tarea del cumplimiento de las diversas responsabilidades. Es una comunidad de vida que se abre a la fecundidad, que no se reduce sólo a la fecundación, sino a la transmisión de todos los valores que alientan, animan, dan sentido a los esposos, a los

La familia es el pasado, el presente y el futuro de la humanidad. La familia es el fundamento de la justicia y de la solidaridad auténtica. La familia es la Iglesia doméstica. La familia es la forja de la personalidad y de la sociabilidad. La familia es la escuela de los verdaderos valores. La familia es el semillero de la vocación cristiana y de la vocación sacerdotal y a la vida consagrada. El matrimonio, base de la familia, es imagen de la unión íntima de Jesucristo con su Iglesia. CON JESÚS TODO ES POSIBLE. NO CAMBIE DE PAREJA, CAMBIE DE ACTITUD Asista a las reuniones del GRUPO DE PAREJAS MDS y reciba el apoyo.
A veces no queremos escucharle a nuestro conyugue, ni a nuestra voz interior, pero cuando escuchamos testimonios reales, nuestra buena voluntad se fortalece... Invitamos a todas las parejas casadas o no casadas para que participen de nuestro grupo para su crecimiento. Tenemos charlas todos los viernes en el salón St. Francis 1 a las 7:30 pm. LECTURAS DE HOY Primera lectura — Dios crea una compañera apropiada para Adán: Eva. Ellos pasan a ser una sola carne (Génesis 2:18-24). Salmo — Dichoso el que teme al Señor (Salmo 128 [127]). Segunda lectura — Cristo, el que consagra, y aquéllos a quienes consagra tienen un mismo origen. Por eso puede llamarlos “hermanos” (Hebreos 2:9-11). Evangelio — Lo que Dios ha unido, que ningún ser humano lo separe. Dejen que los niños vengan a mí (Marcos 10:2-16).
|10 LA PALABRA DE DIOS HOY Nuestro caminar de fe a través de estos domingos del Tiempo Ordinario se ha distinguido por los llamados que se nos han hecho para reexaminar las actitudes y comportamientos que le dan forma a nuestras relaciones. Hoy se nos llama a considerar seriamente cómo entendemos el Sacramento del Matrimonio. El divorcio se nos presenta hoy en los programas de la tele o en las películas como el primer recurso cuando una relación empieza a tener problemas. Este punto de vista representa al matrimonio como algo que se puede tirar tan fácilmente como se tira un vaso de papel. Si creemos que Jesucristo es el fundamento de todo matrimonio sacramental, debemos admitir entonces que la cosmovisión actual está sencillamente de cabeza. Al escuchar las Escrituras de hoy tengamos presente a familiares, amigos y miembros de nuestras comunidades que han luchado con las cuestiones difíciles de matrimonios irreconciliables.
