813-885-7861 It's my pleasure to be able to announce to the community that beginning in January 2013, the Traditional Latin Mass will be offered at Incarnation Catholic Church every Sunday at 4:30pm. We are most grateful to Bishop Lynch for the opportunity to bring the Holy Sacrifice to the Tampa area, and we are also very grateful to Fr. Michael Suszynski, Incarnation's Pastor, for the opportunity to offer the Mass every Sunday. My thanks also to the many generous benefactors who helped make this possible, and to the community that continues to grow in faith and number. Finally, without the assistance of Fr. Hough, S.J., a weekly celebration would not be possible. I look forward to the growth of the Latin Mass community at Incarnation, and I thank you for your faithfulness. Please bring a friend, and spread the word. Many blessings to you and your family this Christmas, and what a Happy New Year we'll have. See you at Mass, Fr. The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph - December 30, 2012 Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we shall be has not yet been revealed. — 1 John 3:2a HOME IS WHERE THE FAMILY IS

The idea, dream, and reality of family is so strong and durable that we use it to describe all that is best about human gatherings. We speak of the family of nations, of our church and parish families. The greatest compliment we can pay a friend or gracious host is to say that we feel at home with them, we feel part of the family.

Families are the first crucibles in which love is tested and tempered. Jesus himself was one of three people who lived in the shadow of each other. This family, like our own, did not always "get it right," but they always tried to. These three "amateurs" were on holiday, and one of them got lost. Two were worried sick and took great measures to find the third, a boy after all, who was seeking the meaning of his calling. He found his vocation--to do his Father's work--but he also returned home with his parents. Copyright (c) J. S. Paluch Co. "Joy is the true gift of Christmas, not expensive presents that demand time and money. We can transmit this joy simply: with a smile, with a kind gesture, with some small help, with forgiveness. Let us give this joy and the joy given will be returned to us." — Pope Benedict VXI, Homily at Mass on the Fourth Sunday of Advent, December 18, 2005

The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Today's Gospel gives us the only real glimpse we have into the life of the Holy Family during the childhood of Jesus. Here we see a family in crisis. A son is lost and frantic parents search and search until they finally find him. We hear these words from the mother of Jesus: "Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety" (Luke 2:48). We can only imagine the distress felt by Mary and Joseph. Their love for their son brought them to their wits' end. Let us take the opportunity this day to ask the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph to intercede for us in times when our families experience anxiety and fear. Copyright © J.S.Paluch Co.

The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays were a little bit brighter for many families in our community thanks to the generosity and efforts of many in our parish. We put together “Food Baskets” with the food collected during our monthly Food Collection held in November and canned meat items which were generously donated once again this year by the “Salami Man” and his family. We received some generous donations and were able to purchase a large ham for each of the families and other items to make nice Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. Thanks to Ms. Philomena Johnson for coordinating this effort! The Mitten Tree, Shoeboxes for Seniors, “Haga Sonreír A Un Niño” (Make a Child Smile) and Adopt a Family for Christmas programs were all very successful. We couldn’t have done this without your generous and prayerful support. Thank You! Next year we would like to form a Committee to help with these projects. If you are interested in being a part of this, please contact Irene Martinez at 813-885-7861. |7
