TOO MUCH INFORMATION! There is a common expression: “Too much information!” We usually use it when people tell us details about their lives that we don’t want or need to know. Today, when James and John ask Jesus a simple question, making their request for places of honor in the kingdom, a simple answer might have been in order. Instead, as he often does, Jesus answers a question with a question; today it’s about drinking the cup of suffering. Then, once the others are indignant over James and John’s outrageous request, he proceeds to give them what may have been “too much information” for followers who were simply interested in the pursuit of glory. But this information, though it can sometimes seem “too much” for us, is essential for our lives as disciples. In Isaiah, in Hebrews, and in Mark today, we learn this information. It is in suffering, in weakness, in self-giving service to others, that we come to understand the kingdom. It is the information we need to find our place and come to be honored in the reign of God. 8220 W. Hillsborough Ave. Tampa, FL 33615 www.icctampa.org

TODAY IS WORLD MISSION SUNDAY. We celebrate this day by remembering the revitalizing mission at the heart of our Christian faith – to bring the Gospel to all! The collection today for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith ensures the work and service of the Mission Church, as it supports priests, religious and lay leaders who offer the Lord’s mercy and concrete help to the most vulnerable communities in the Pope’s missions. Thank you for your generosity. There are special collection envelopes will be available in the pews. Please put your donation in these envelopes.

Prayer for Protection against Storms & Hurricanes
Incarnation Tuesday night English Bible study will begin an eight-week study on the Gospel of John on November 13th, from 7- 9pm in Classroom 3 in the school building. Following Christ takes more than simply believing in him or doing what he asks of us. Jesus wants you to be more than just a believer … he wants you to be his disciple and friend. “Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John” is a guide to a personal encounter with Christ. Follow Me invites you to experience the joy of a renewed friendship with Christ. The cost of the workbook is $16.95 per person. For additional information or to sign up and reserve a workbook, please call Donna Burch @813-541-8506 or +Peggy Kelly @813-767-9669.
Our Father in Heaven through the intercession of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, spare us during this Hurricane season from all harm. Protect us and our homes from all disasters of nature. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
