REVELATION OF GOD’S PRESENCE Today’s first reading from Isaiah arises out of the ordeal of the people of Jerusalem and Judea as they anticipate the end of seventy years of exile in Babylon. Their sufferings and their oppression will end, and they are promised joy like that of a great wedding upon returning to their homeland. Although this passage is probably set in the early sixth century B.C., it is free of historical particulars. Accordingly, the Church has understood its imagery universally, as it proclaims God’s promise of healing, hope, and happiness for all peoples, in this world and in the next. When read against this background, the story of Jesus’ turning water into wine at the wedding at Cana becomes a revelation of God’s presence in the person of Jesus, making these promises real for us in the here and now, in the transformation of our own lives. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul -Incarnation Conference is busy getting ready to open February 2022. Our mission is to serve our community through home visits and a food pantry. We are asking you, our fellow Incarnation parishioners, to support us through monetary and food donations every third Sunday of the month. In addition, we are actively looking for more volunteers. Thank you for your prayers and support as we begin this worthy endeavor.

BIBLE STUDY Jesus: The Way, the Truth and the Life On Tuesday evening, 7-9pm beginning January 18, 2022, the Incarnation Bible Study Group will begin a 10-week study on the life of Jesus Christ. Jesus is more than a historical or theological figure. He is our Savior, our Redeemer, our Lord, our God, our brother and our friend. While many of us already know a lot about him, how well can we say we really know him? Filmed on location in the Holy Land, this program is a new and fresh look at Jesus – who he is, what he is really like, what he taught, and what he did for our salvation. As Christians, we say we want to live with Him forever in the heavenly kingdom; how about in our worldly life? This encounter with Christ will inspire and empower you to center your entire life on him as you come to know and love him in an and ever-deeper and more intimate way. Participants will need online service, and computer or phone with audio and video capabilities. If you are interested, please call or text Donna Burch at 813-5418506 to be placed on the email list. Also, each participant must purchase directly from AscensionPress.com and individual study set: workbook, book, and timeline chart, along with a year-long online access to the weekly videos. The cost is $38-$39 with shipping. Please order early in interested.

SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Prayer for the Synod We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name. With You alone to guide us, make Yourself at home in our hearts; Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it. We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder. Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions. Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right. All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever. Amen.

JANUARY 16, 2022

RCIA Interested in Becoming Catholic? Is God calling you? Are you looking to deepen your relationship with Jesus and be part of His Church? RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process of initiation by which individuals are fully received into the Catholic Church through the reception of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist or Communion. This process begins September 12th. If you, or anyone you may know, are interested in becoming Catholic or simply have questions regarding the Catholic faith, please contact Deacon Matt Shirina at 813-884-3624 or you can email him at dff@icctampa.org

Dear Parishioners, The celebration of the Eucharist is the center of the entire Christian life both for the Church universally and for the local congregation of the Church. All the other sacraments, all the ministries of the Church, and the works of the apostolate are united with the Eucharist and are directed towards it. The Holy Eucharist contains the entire spiritual treasures of the Church, that is, Christ Himself, our Passover and living bread. Therefore, veneration and adoration which is due to God himself, has always been customary in the Catholic Church. We will be adding an additional opportunity for Exposition of the Holy Eucharist. Besides First Friday after Mass we will now be having Eucharist Adoration on Monday evening between 7 and 8 PM and will be conducted by the Deacons of Incarnation Parish. Please come and spend some time with Our Lord in silence. Blessings, Deacon Jim Bi-Lingual Program Specialist needed for Knights Women’s Center A program specialist is responsible for the coordination and provision of client services for Knights Women’s Center and Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center Program which includes pregnancy testing and options counseling, limited ultrasound, mobile unit, adoption services, mentoring, educational programming, and post abortion support groups. SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
