I pray these lines find all doing well. All is great here at Incarnation central. Pumpkin coffee is now available, so you have one happy, caffeine filled pastor on your hands. I’m not into flavored coffees and coffee drinks at all but somehow pumpkin is the “best” to me! I feel bad for all of you because I am not preaching so you will not get one of my jokes this weekend – consider it a gift from God! LOL I love the Gospel we are presented with this weekend because it reminds us to look at our faith and make sure it is real and active, not just something our parents, grandparents and elders did without us understanding why something is done. The reason I bring this up is because this is exactly what is happening in our Gospel. The pharisees and scribes are holding on to and making religious laws where there originally was none. The reason initially for “the purification of cups and jugs and kettles and beds” was instituted because of the plague, this purification had been done in the past to stop the disease from spreading – there was no religious institution nor religious reason for any of this, but it was made religious. Look at your prayer life, at what you have been taught to believe – make sure that you understand it all. We should not be doing anything that we do not completely understand when it comes to our prayer life and faith practices. Have a great week! God Bless You, Love, Fr. Mike

The St. Vincent de Paul Society Incarnation Catholic Church "Your Invitation to Serve" Those in Need We are called by our Faith as Christians to follow the gospel message to care for those in need: to "Feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty and shelter the homeless" The St. Vincent de Paul Society enables us to put the gospel message into action by serving the needy within the parish community area with material and financial aid, encouragement and support. The mission of the Society is to bring the love and peace of Christ to those who are suffering and in need and thereby increase their own spirituality. Jesus said, " Whatever you do for the least of my brethren, you do for Me'. To learn more about the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the formation of a St. Vincent de Paul Conference at Incarnation: please plan to attend a meeting on Thursday, Sept. 2nd at 6:30 pm in St. Michael's Hall.

RCIA Interested in Becoming Catholic? Is God calling you? Are you looking to deepen your relationship with Jesus and be part of His Church? This process begins September 12th. Catechists Needed!
Registration has begun for Faith Formation classes, and we are asking for those that may teach now or have taught in the past to contact the Faith Formation Office if they would like to be a catechist. We have been blessed with an amazing Group of catechists, but we have a few, who after many dedicated years have retired from this part of their stewardship. With that in mind we do need some catechist and assistant catechist. If you feel God is calling you to help pass on our Faith to the children and youth of our Parish, please contact Deacon Matt or Judy Licari at (813) 884-3624 and see where your gifts and talents can be used.

Bible Study Group
On September 14, 2021, the Tuesday night Bible Study Group will begin the program Lectio: Peter-Cornerstone of Catholicism, By Dr Tim Gray. Meeting time is 7:00900pm ON ZOOM (Online only-no in-person meetings). The study handbook can be downloaded free and weekly videos are available on FORMED.com also for free. For more information or to sign up, please call Donna Burch at 813-541-8506 or email donna.burch@verizon.net The character of St Peter is both inspiring and confounding to many of us. How could a stubborn and impulsive fisherman become the “rock” upon which Jesus would build his Church? Bringing together biblical accounts, historical evidence, Church teaching, Classical art, and personal insight, Dr Gray gives a fresh perspective on Simon Peter that is immediately informative and relevant in our lives. After all, if Jesus could bring out the very best in someone like Peter, then there is hope for the rest of us.
