TWENTY-FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME PARISH OFFICE Hours: 9am - 4pm 5124 Gateway Dr. Tampa, FL 33615 Ph. 813.885.7861 | www.icctampa.org SCHOOL OFFICE 5111 Webb Rd. Tampa, FL 33615 Ph. 813.884.4502 Fax: 813.885.3734 | www.icstampa.org.org

I pray these lines find all doing well. All is great here at Incarnation Central. Fall is upon us, school has begun, pumpkin coffee is back and life as we know it is just as it should be – That’s the pumpkin coffee talking! LOL Today in our gospel we are given a very subtle hint on how we are to live. We are to be child-like – not childish. There is a big difference. One who is childish thinks only of themselves, wants what they want, when they want it and how they want it. The childish truly believe and expect the world to revolve around them – and as children that is fine, its part of development. We, as adults, as Christians, answer to a much higher calling, to be childlike. In being this way, we see the joy in most everything, we see the glass as half full. I pray that all of you have experienced the look of the childlike; seeing the tree on Christmas morning, looking at the expression the first time they enter Disney World and many other events that bring about a wide-eyed amazement. God is with us all the time showing us in so many different ways how much He loves us. We should look at our loved ones, events that bring joy and good times with wide-eyed amazement realizing it is all a gift from God! God Bless Your Week! Love, Fr. Mike

SEPTEMBER 12, 2021 Religious Education Ministry Judy Licari reled@icctampa.org

Registration for Faith Formation classes and Sacramental Preparation has begun and classes begin Sunday, September12th. If you haven’t already registered your child/children this year, you will need to come by the faith formation office Monday-Thursday from 9:00-4:00 to register them. Please bring a copy of your child’s Baptismal certificate with you. If you have any questions, please contact Deacon Matt or Miss Judy in the Faith Formation Office at 813-884-3624 or email Judy at reled@icctampa.org.

RCIA Interested in Becoming Catholic? Is God calling you? Are you looking to deepen your relationship with Jesus and be part of His Church? RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process of initiation by which individuals are fully received into the Catholic Church through the reception of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist or Communion. This process begins September 12th. If you, or anyone you may know, are interested in becoming Catholic or simply have questions regarding the Catholic faith, please contact Deacon Matt Shirina at 813-884-3624 or you can email him at dff@icctampa.org

Catechists Needed!

Registration has begun for Faith Formation classes, and we are asking for those that may teach now or have taught in the past to contact the Faith Formation Office if they would like to be a catechist. We have been blessed with an amazing Group of catechists, but we have a few, who after many dedicated years have retired from this part of their stewardship. With that in mind we do need some catechist and assistant catechist. If you feel God is calling you to help pass on our Faith to the children and youth of our Parish, please contact Deacon Matt or Judy Licari at (813) 884-3624 and see where your gifts and talents can be used.

Suggested Intercessions in Connection with Hurricane Ida For all who have suffered injury or death as a result of Hurricane Ida, and for their families and loved ones, we pray to the Lord. For all who have sustained losses in the storm, that they may know God’s healing and care in those to whom they turn for assistance, we pray to the Lord.

Spirit FM's mission is to share the love of Christ and the beauty of the Catholic faith. Our vision and hope is that all will know the unconditional love and unshakeable hope of Jesus. 5

Bible Study Group

On September 14, 2021, the Tuesday night Bible Study Group will begin the program Lectio: Peter-Cornerstone of Catholicism, By Dr Tim Gray. Meeting time is 7:00900pm ON ZOOM (Online only-no in-person meetings). The study handbook can be downloaded free and weekly videos are available on FORMED.com also for free. For more information or to sign up, please call Donna Burch at 813-541-8506 or email donna.burch@verizon.net The character of St Peter is both inspiring and confounding to many of us. How could a stubborn and impulsive fisherman become the “rock” upon which Jesus would build his Church? Bringing together biblical accounts, historical evidence, Church teaching, Classical art, and personal insight, Dr Gray gives a fresh perspective on Simon Peter that is immediately informative and relevant in our lives. After all, if Jesus could bring out the very best in someone like Peter, then there is hope for the rest of us.

Prayer for Protection against Storms & Hurricanes

Our Father in Heaven through the intercession of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, spare us during this Hurricane season from all harm. Protect us and our homes from all disasters of nature. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
