I pray these lines find all doing well. Week number three and we here are all “in the pink” – but only because it is Gaudete Sunday. Roughly defined the pink symbolizes that we are more than halfway “there” in referring to Christmas. So by now – certainly your Christmas shopping is complete, if not – here’s hoping it’s really soon. Ironically enough we hear about John the Baptist yet again. Amazing that for a man who wants no attention drawn to himself – Advent is not “his season” for what he wants because we only hear about John. This fact is great for us though because it keeps showing us an excellent model of how we are to live our lives, focusing on God – not the things of this world. When we look at today’s Gospel we see and hear the people asking general questions of John which they certainly knew the answer to already. These people already knew what was right and what was wrong, but they were looking to see if they could maybe – “stretch the boundaries.” In relation to this subject, on the subject of the Ten Commandments I saw a wonderful marquee sign on a Church, it read; “Don’t put a question mark where God put a period!” At times people make excuses for themselves and look for loopholes, “That does not pertain to me” or “this is a specific and very unique situation, and it is OK” is it??? You need to convince God of this – not me. He is not only aware of the situation, but He also reads our hearts and knows us inside out. Speaking of hearts, I pray that by now you have prepared yours to receive our Lord and that you are offering Him a heart free of anger, resentment and unforgiveness. Have a great week! Love, Fr. Mike

Praying our families are all doing well during the Christmas Season and enjoining with Family, friends, and the Lord. RCIA Interested in Becoming Catholic? Is God calling you? Are you looking to deepen your relationship with Jesus and be part of His Church? RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process of initiation by which individuals are fully received into the Catholic Church through the reception of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist or Communion. This process begins September 12th. If you, or anyone you may know, are interested in becoming Catholic or simply have questions regarding the Catholic faith, please contact Deacon Matt Shirina at 813-884-3624 or you can email him at dff@icctampa.org
Dear Parishioners, The celebration of the Eucharist is the center of the entire Christian life both for the Church universally and for the local congregation of the Church. All the other sacraments, all the ministries of the Church, and the works of the apostolate are united with the Eucharist and are directed towards it. The Holy Eucharist contains the entire spiritual treasures of the Church, that is, Christ Himself, our Passover and living bread. Therefore, veneration and adoration which is due to God himself, has always been customary in the Catholic Church. We will be adding an additional opportunity for Exposition of the Holy Eucharist. Besides First Friday after Mass we will now be having Eucharist Adoration on Monday evening between 7 and 8 PM and will be conducted by the Deacons of Incarnation Parish. Please come and spend some time with Our Lord in silence. Blessings, Deacon Jim

THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT
