RIGHT RELATIONSHIPS
Our God is about relationships. In the first reading, Moses reminds the Israelites that the laws, which are already in their hearts, keep them in right relationship with the God who loves them so much that they always find forgiveness. Centuries later, along comes Jesus, whom Paul describes to the Colossians as “the image of the invisible God,” the very embodiment of this God of love. In his parable about the good Samaritan, Jesus explains how the law of love overrules the letter of the law. Instead of answering the question “Who is my neighbor?” Jesus demonstrates that it is not about who is worthy of being loved, but rather loving as God loves—about being neighbor, about being the good Samaritan. Jesus wants us to continue his work as images of this God of love by loving all people, even those who seem to be our enemies.

In a prayer service at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle on June 21, 2022, Bishop Emeritus Robert N. Lynch presented 11 individuals with a Certificate in Lay Leadership Ministry. Bishop Lynch, substituting for Bishop Gregory Parkes, commissioned each student to serve in ministry leadership in parishes throughout the diocese. The 2022 commissioning class represents nine parishes from around our diocese. To receive the certificate and be commissioned, the participants completed one year of discernment and three years of academic and spiritual preparation. In addition to the time spent in class, in the second year of formation participants spend 20 hours of Apprenticeship observation in a ministry outside of their parish. In the third year, they initiate or enhance that ministry in their home parish as a Practicum. Some of the ministries that this class has been involved with include youth ministry, parent and adult faith formation, homeless outreach, Altar Server training, vocations awareness, food pantry services, small faith community sharing, and prayer teams.

FOURTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Society of St. Vincent de Paul – Incarnation Conference
Thanks to the generous support from our parish, we have assisted, from February to May, 47 households in our community with rent, utilities, food and other expenses. And we have been able to help them solely because of your generosity. The food pantry, located in what was previously the chapel, is now open two days a month on the fourth Wednesday and Saturday from 10am to noon for those who reside in the 33614, 33615, and 33635 zip codes. Those in need may also call 813-421-2201 for an appointment. We appreciate your continued support with food and monetary donations every third Sunday of the month. If you are interested in learning more about our organization, we welcome you to join us at our monthly meetings every fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 in the pantry. La Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul – Conferencia de la Iglesia de Encarnación Gracias al generoso apoyo de nuestra parroquia, hemos ayudado, de febrero a mayo, a 47 hogares de nuestra comunidad con renta, facturas de servicios públicos, alimentos y otros gastos. Y hemos podido ayudarlos únicamente gracias a su generosidad. La despensa de alimentos, ubicada en lo que antes era la capilla, ahora está abierta dos días al mes: el cuarto miércoles y sábado de 10 a.m. al mediodía para aquellos que residen en los códigos postales 33614, 33615 y 33635. All the other sacraments, all the ministries of the Church, and the works of the apostolate are united with the Eucharist and are directed towards it. The Holy Eucharist contains the entire spiritual treasures of the Church, that is, Christ Himself, our Passover and living bread. Therefore, veneration and adoration which is due to God himself, has always been customary in the Catholic Church. Besides First Friday after Mass we will now be having Eucharist Adoration on Monday evening between 7 and 8 PM and will be conducted by the Deacons of Incarnation Parish. LECTURAS DE HOY
Nuestro Dios es acerca de relaciones. En la primera lectura, Moisés les recuerda a los israelitas que las leyes, que ya están en sus corazones, los mantiene en una relación correcta con el Dios que los ama tanto que siempre consiguen el perdón. Siglos después, llega Jesús, a quien Pablo describe a los colosenses como “la imagen del Dios invisible”, la encarnación misma de este Dios de amor. En su parábola acerca del buen samaritano, Jesús explica cómo la ley de amor anula la letra de la ley.
