I pray these lines find all doing well. All is great here at Incarnation Catholic!! I want to send a personal Thank You to Fr. Brian who celebrated baptisms as well as every Mass over the weekend as the two Mikes were in the midst of a covid quarantine. That phrase is so true – we never know what the future holds. Probably the best homily I ever wrote (not really) and not able to preach it – if you want to make God laugh – tell Him your plans. We hear so much today in our Gospel, all the topics (Obviously) are great but the one that truly stands out for me is “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.” Ultimately everything that we strive for is peace. This happens when those we love as well as ourselves are cared for, healthy and happy. Having Jesus as our center provides that peace so what we truly need before achieving peace is faith. To know Jesus, to listen to what He tells us, to see how He lived His life and to follow Him brings the most peace because we are following the author of our lives. You would not even exist if God had not thought you were such a great idea that He formed you into being. This IS our reality. Do we deserve this, are we worthy of this – No. But we are so loved by our Creator that He gifts us this anyway. I pray you may solidly know this faith that you may then know the peace spoken in today’s Gospel by Jesus. Have a great week! God Bless You! Love, Fr. Mike Jesus lays out quite a challenge in today’s Gospel. If you truly love Him, you’ll keep His word. But of course, the word of Jesus, his teaching, is so challenging! And we are so weak, fickle and forge ul. How can we be expected to keep His word on our own? It seems like an impossible task. And in a way it is. But thankfully, we’re not asked to keep Christ’s word all by ourselves. As Jesus says, He will send “the Advocate,” the Holy Spirit, whom “will everything and remind you of all that I told you.” In other words, Christ not only gives the task, but He also gives the means for accomplishing it—His very own Spirit, sent by the Father in Christ’s name. Do we rely upon the Spirit in our daily lives, especially in those difficult circumstances when it becomes basically impossible for us to keep Christ’s word on our own? There’s really no other way! Consider one scenario: suppor ng our local Church by contribu ng to the Catholic Ministry Appeal. We know God asks us to support His Church, which some mes may be hard to do. But, how does it change when we ask for His help, through the Holy Spirit? There’s only one way to find out: ask the Holy Spirit for help seeing how God is calling you to support the Church, and then ask Him for the strength to follow through.

Mike does not contact individuals on social media using Facebook Messenger or direct messaging. Please report any suspicious activity to Facebook, Instagram or other platforms and do not respond. Please be aware that some people are targeted because they work or volunteer in the Church and their phone numbers are listed on parish websites, bulletins or other online content. Do not reply to such text, email or social media messages and call your parish, school or the Diocese to verify its legitimacy if it appears suspicious.

Amor, Padre Mike
