I pray all are doing well. I am amazed and awed that I am already writing the Palm Sunday article, of course I am writing it on March 25. The bulletin companies require the holiday articles to be handed in very early. Today we hear the passion narrative. It is so important to remember that what Jesus endured, what He suffered is very personal. Written another way, if you were the only person on earth Jesus died for you and you alone. All of us are sinners and we know the price for sin is death. Because God loves us so much His only begotten Son took our place. Because of this – because of our faith in Jesus we live forever. There is really not too much else I can add – the Gospel today speaks for itself. Have a Blessed Holy Week, I pray you will join us for the Holy week celebrations! God Bless, Love, Fr. Mike

BIBLE STUDY

The Gospel of John On Tuesday evening, April 19th, Incarnation Bible study group will begin the study of the Gospel of John. It will be held via Zoom and will run from 7-9pm. John’s Gospel is unique from the other three Gospels and this study entitled “Follow me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John”, will guide you through John’s Gospel and invite you to encounter Christ every step of the way. As you read about events in Jesus’ ministry, you are invited to enter into these moments, not as a bystander, but as a witness of God’s merciful love for us made manifest in Jesus Christ. Participants will need online service, and computer or phone with audio and video capabilities. If you are interested, please call or text Donna Burch at 813-541-8506 or email at donna.burch@verizon.net to be placed on the email list. Each participant is asked to prepare by reading and answering questions in the workbook which is available for $24.95 from Ascension Press. 4

If you’ve ever run a race, you know that the home stretch isn’t the me to take your foot off the gas. It’s the me to give everything you’ve got—to push through the fa gue and the pain in order to ensure that you finish what you set out to accomplish. Christ’s entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday marks the beginning of His “home stretch”—His passion, death, and resurrec on, the comple on of His mission of redemp on. Jesus knows what His enemies are planning for Him, but he doesn’t hide from them. He enters Jerusalem to the praise of the public. He commits Himself to comple ng the task ahead. As we begin Holy Week, we enter the home stretch of our Lenten season and our prepara ons for Easter. No ma er how you’ve done with your Lenten disciplines to this point, now is the me to put the pedal to the metal. Now is the me to rededicate yourself to prayer, penance, and almsgiving. Now is me to make sure that we finish well the journey we set out on together nearly 40 days ago. Rather than looking back, let’s look forward to the week ahead, our Lenten home stretch. If you’re s ll looking for an opportunity for Lenten almsgiving, which is a great way to grow in self-detachment, consider suppor ng our diocese’s Catholic Ministry Appeal. Spend some me with the Lord today, asking Him how He’s invi ng you to finish Lent strong.

No me siento avergonzado (Isaías 50:4-7). Salmo — Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has abandonado? (Salmo 22 [21]).
