I pray these lines find everyone doing well. All is great here at Incarnation Central, so amazing to think it is the end of September. The pumpkin patch will be here before you know it. October is one of my favorite months of the year – primarily because I spent the childhood Octobers in Massachusetts, the change of seasons, the cooler weather (no sweating) and pumpkin flavored everything. It is also the month I go on vacation, so you all get a break from me. I am writing this two-weeks in advance. I have not set vacation yet but I’m thinking you will see me next weekend but then I shall not return until November but not to worry there will be plenty of jokes and hugs when I return.
Last weekend we heard about dishonest wealth and this weekend we hear of a wealthy man who, let’s just say, did not make it to Heaven. The beginning of the story makes it really easy to see what’s happening, Abraham died and was carried to the bosom of Abraham – the rich man died and was buried – the first indication that, in this story, it is not good to be the rich man. The guy does not even have a name whereas the poor man’s name was Lazarus. What always stands out for me and gets me upset is that, even in (the downstairs place) the rich man STILL does not get it nor realize what a pompous, self-centered “piece of work” he is. Abraham is in Heaven, at Abraham’s bosom and what does the rich man say, Father Abraham, send Lazarus to dip his finger in water to cool my tongue – like Abraham was still beneath him. The tides had turned, and Lazarus rode that wave into Heaven.
The last line of the Gospel is one written for us who know Jesus and Him risen from the dead. How sad is it that we DO have one who has risen from the dead and yet there are so many who still do not believe nor listen to Him. That’s where our hope and prayers for them come in, we hope!
God Bless You Love, Fr. Mike
Our parish is filled with caring, generous people who have embraced our new Catholic Ministry Appeal and the good that it brings to our parish and to our diocese. Thank you to everyone who have made a sacrificial gift and helped us reach our parish financial goal of $106,040. Total pledges paid is $142,022, resulting in a 134% of our Goal met. Your generosity to the Catholic Ministry Appeal supports the mission of Jesus Christ, allowing us to bring God’s love and mercy past our parish boundaries through ministries, programs and services provided by our local Church. Thank you!
Prayer for Protection against Storms & Hurricanes
Our Father in Heaven through the intercession of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, spare us during this Hurricane season from all harm. Protect us and our homes from all disasters of nature. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Dear Parishioners, The purpose for our ministry is to provide comfort, warmth, and love through the articles we hand crochet or knit. Among the items are shawls, lap blankets, baby blankets. We provide these items to those children and adults that are gravely sick, recovering from surgery, a severe injury, fighting cancer. If you knit or crochet, or would like to learn how to, please join our ministry. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month (September - May Only) at 7:00 p.m. in St Patrick’s classroom. Or if you would like to help the ministry, donations of yarn are always welcome. Please call or visit the parish office if you or a loved one are in need of one of these items. For more information please contact: Barbara Plourde at 813-361-1154

Catechists Needed!
Registration has begun for Faith Formation classes, and we are asking for those that may teach now or have taught in the past to contact the Faith Formation Office if they would like to be a catechist. We have been blessed with an amazing Group of catechists, but we have a few, who after many dedicated years have retired from this part of their stewardship. With that in mind we do need some catechist and assistant catechist. If you feel God is calling you to help pass on our Faith to the children and youth of our Parish, please contact Deacon Matt or Judy Licari at (813) 884-3624 and see where your gifts and talents can be used.
