I pray these lines find all doing well. It was so great seeing all of you again, vacation was great, but it is a long time to be away. I got lots of rest and am ready now for the rest of the year!! LOL

As we come close to the end of the liturgical year, we hear about the end times. The people are asking Jesus about the end times and how will we know when, will there be signs? I had always heard as a child that “We are in the end times.” “Things have never been as bad as they are now, it must be the end times.” Ever since I have been ordained, I hear that more and more from parishioners from the different parishes of which I have been a part. I’m guessing that it is a part of our common, human thought process – knowing that we will not live here forever. Each generation is almost convinced that their generation is going to be present for the end times.

We do not know when the end will come, it may be thousands of years from now, and just as true, it may happen as you are reading this article. The key to whenever it will happen is that we need to be prepared. Growing up I was the king of procrastination, thankfully I outgrew it – a little bit. LOL // We all, kids and adults alike need to lose the attitude of “Why do today what you can put off til tomorrow.” This next sentence is going to be really deep so prepare for this – “When we are ready, we are ready.” So, whenever the End actually comes to pass, we are not caught off guard or frightened out of our minds as it also says in another part of scripture.

The motto of the Boy Scouts is so right – “Be prepared!” God bless Your week, Love, Fr. Mike

THE 2023 MASS BOOK IS NOW OPEN!

All Mass intentions may be scheduled at our Parish Office, Monday - Friday, 9am4pm. Unfortunately, due to over 50 unpaid Masses we are unable to accept phone requests. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you are unable to come in, you may send a check with a date request, name, intention, and a contact number (Please print). We will be happy to accommodate the request if the date is available. If requesting more than 3 Masses at a time, please have a list prepared with printed names with intentions. You can offer a Mass for a deceased loved one, a birthday, anniversary, for healing or in thanksgiving for prayers answered. Masses may only be requested for one particular person a maximum of 3 times per year. The donation is $20.00 per Mass payable at time of request.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul –Incarnation Conference

Thanks to the generous support from our parish, we have assisted, from February to mid-August, 99 households consisting of 238 people in our community with rent, utilities, food, and other expenses. And we have been able to help them solely because of your generosity. The food pantry, located in what was previously the chapel, is now open two days a month on the fourth Wednesday and Saturday from 10am to noon for those who reside in the 33614, 33615, 33634 and 33635 zip codes. Those in need may also call 813-421-2201 for an appointment. We appreciate your continued support with food and monetary donations every third Sunday of the month. If you are interested in learning more about our organization, we welcome you to join us at our monthly meetings every third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 at the back of the church across from Grotto with the blessed Mother. La Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul –Conferencia de la Iglesia de Encarnación

Gracias al generoso apoyo de nuestra parroquia, hemos ayudado, desde febrero hasta mediados de agosto, a 99 hogares que consisten en 238 personas en nuestra comunidad con alquiler, servicios públicos, alimentos y otros gastos. Y hemos podido ayudarlos únicamente gracias a su generosidad. La despensa de alimentos, ubicada en lo que antes era la capilla, ahora está abierta dos días al mes el cuarto miércoles y sábado de 10 am a mediodía para aquellos que residen en los códigos postales 33614, 33615, 33634 y 33635. Los necesitados también pueden llamar al 813-421-2201 para una cita. Agradecemos su continuo apoyo con donaciones de alimentos y dinero cada tercer domingo del mes. Si está interesado en obtener más información sobre nuestra organización, le invitamos a unirse a nosotros en nuestras reuniones mensuales cada tercer miércoles del mes a las 6:30 en la sala en la parte trasera de la iglesia frente a la Gruta con la Santísima Madre. Bishop Parkes presented the St. Jude Medal Award to individuals and couples from each of our parishes and missions for their outstanding service to their community. The ceremony took place on Sunday, October 30, 2022, 3:00 p.m., at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, 5815 5th Avenue N., St. Petersburg. Congratulations to all of the 2022 recipients of the St. Jude Medal Award! Mr. & Mrs. Angel and Rosa Marrero from our parish is a recipient this year! SVdP CHRISTMAS ANGEL TREE

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The Incarnation St. Vincent de Paul Society will be sponsoring their annual Christmas Angel Tree Drive to assist those who will need a helping hand this year. We will start with our parishioners-in-need first to give their children a memorable Christmas. And then we can expand to a local children’s facility, depending on the response. Because this parish’s response has been so generous through these challenging times, we may also be able to include helping the elderly who are struggling on fixed incomes. Therefore, we will provide an angel-laced Christma s tree filled with these various requests starting the weekend of November 19th. In order to make this a success, we must first be informed of those parishioners in need. Please call the parish office at 813-885-7861 and leave a message with your name and phone number. We will call you back to get specific information on children’s gender, age, needs, etc. to place on the angels. Please leave a message starting immediately through November 18th. Please bring your unwrapped gift with the angel taped to it by December 10th ,drop them in the box provided in the church foyer. Thank you for your kindness and generosity we look forward to helping our parish put smiles on children’s faces Christmas morning!

Registration for Faith Formation has ended for 2022/2023 year. We will always take children into our classes, however if they are in the two-year preparation for a sacrament then that will begin August of 2023. When registering, Please bring a copy of your child’s Baptismal certificate and, if completed, their First Holy Communion certificate with you. The faith formation office is open Monday - Thursday from 9am - 4pm.and closed on Fridays, if you have any questions. You can reach out to Deacon Matt or Miss Judy in the Faith Formation Office at 813-884-3624 or email Judy at reled@icctampa.org.

We are always in need of Catechist for Faith Formation. Please let us know if you are interested. Teens in need of service hours may also volunteer to help Miss Judy and/or in the classrooms on Sunday as well. You may speak with Miss Judy to sign up.

Thank you to all who joined us for the Confirmation parent meeting on November 2nd. For those registered to receive Reconciliation and Communion, the parent meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 16th. Please check your calendars going forward for workshop schedule.

La inscripción para la Formación en la Fe ha finalizado para el año 2022/2023. Sin embargo, siempre traeremos niños a nuestras clases, si están en preparación de dos años para un sacramento, que comenzará en agosto de 2023. EL FIN DE LOS DÍAS

Mientras nos preparamos para el próximo domingo para la fiesta de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo, Rey del Universo, escuchamos descripciones de acontecimientos funestos y catastróficos. A veces parece que nosotros mismos estamos viviendo el final de los tiempos, cuando la vida, así como actualmente la conocemos terminará para todos. En respuesta a lo que debe haber sido una pregunta temerosa, Jesús no endulza su predicción para los días futuros. Ni el profeta Malaquías del Antiguo Testamento flaquea de sus declaraciones sobre un mundo malvado. San Pablo, todavía escribiendo a los tesalonicenses, les advierte proféticamente en contra de caer en el síndrome de “El final se acerca”, es decir, a la pereza ante los últimos días. Sin embargo, tanto Jesús como Malaquías hablan de la recompensa por llevar una vida justa, curación y reivindicación. Nuestro salmo 98, típicamente asociado con la Navidad, nos ayuda a alegrarnos por el Rey que ya viene a gobernar con justicia.
