I pray these lines find all doing well. Happy New Year – Time is absolutely flying!!! of course not as fast as it seems to me since this article is required of me on December 14th in order to make the New Year’s bulletin.

By this time Christmas is over and people are making their New Year’s resolutions as we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God and what better way to start the new year than by celebrating the Blessed Mother – the most beautiful of all God’s creation.

Mary’s total YES to God is an example for each of us to follow. I have mentioned so many times before in my homilies how Mary gave her profound YES or FIAT to God at the age of around 13 or 14 years of age. Some of us are a year or two older that 14, and have we given our yes to God yet – if not, why not?

Full trust in God is the best assurance that we will have the life He plans for us to have. Because He loves us and is a gentleman God never forces Himself nor His will upon us and so we have the choice to try to run things our own way. It will never match up nor be half as good as if we give our “Yes” to God. So, as we begin this new year may we follow the example of Created Perfection, always seeking God’s will and trusting in His love and guidance!

TODAY’S READINGS

EVERY MONTH WE ARE HAVING A HOMELESS LUNCHEON EVERY MONTH AT INCARNATION CHURCH, AND THE HOMELESS ARE IN GREAT NEED OF SOCKS AND TOILETRIES. IF YOU CAN DONATE 1 PAIR OF NEW SOCKS, WE APPRECIATE IT. THERE WILL BE A BOX IN THE CHURCH PORTICLE TO PUT THEM IN. THE TUBE SOCKS IN BLACK OR WHITE AND MEN SHOES OR SNEAKERS. The Marriage Jubilee Mass of Thanksgiving will take place at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle on Sunday, February 12th at 3:00pm. This event honors couples throughout the diocese who will celebrate their 25th anniversary as well as those celebrating 50 or more years of marriage during the 2023 calendar year. Please RSVP to our parish office by Tuesday January 17th.

THE 2023 MASS BOOK IS NOW OPEN!

All Mass intentions may be scheduled at our Parish Office, Monday - Friday, 9am - 4pm. Unfortunately, due to over 50 unpaid Masses we are unable to accept phone requests. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you are unable to come in, you may send a check with a date request, name, intention, and a contact number (Please print). We will be happy to accommodate the request if the date is available. If requesting more than 3 Masses at a time, please have a list prepared with printed names with intentions. You can offer a Mass for a deceased loved one, a birthday, anniversary, for healing or in thanksgiving for prayers answered. Masses may only be requested for one particular person a maximum of 3 times per year. The donation is $20.00 per Mass payable at time of request.

Desafortunadamente, debido a más de 50 misas no pagadas, no podemos aceptar solicitudes telefónicas. Nos disculpamos por cualquier inconveniente. Si no puede venir, puede enviar un cheque con una solicitud de fecha, nombre, intención y un número de contacto (letra de imprenta). Estaremos encantados de darle la fecha si la fecha está disponible. Si solicita más de 3 misas a la vez, tenga una lista preparada con nombres impresos con intenciones. Puede ofrecer una Misa por un ser querido fallecido, un cumpleaños, un aniversario, por sanación o en acción de gracias por las oraciones contestadas. Sólo se podrán pedir misas para una persona en particular un máximo de 3 veces al año. La donación es de $20.00 por misa pagadera al momento de la solicitud.

Saint Vincent de Paul Society sends you heartfelt gratitude for your incredible kindness and generosity with the Christmas angels this year. Because of your generous spirit, over 150 children will wake up Christmas morning to gifts under their tree. May you remember these children on Christmas day with a smile on your face knowing the joy you have brought them. We, at Saint Vincent de Paul, thank you and wish you a joyous Christmas season.

Thanks to the generous support from our parish, we have assisted, from February to mid-August, 99 households consisting of 238 people in our community with rent, utilities, food, and other expenses. And we have been able to help them solely because of your generosity. The food pantry, located in what was previously the chapel, is now open two days a month on the fourth Wednesday and Saturday from 10am to noon for those who reside in the 33614, 33615, 33634 and 33635 zip codes. Those in need may also call 813-421-2201 for an appointment. We appreciate your continued support with food and monetary donations every third Sunday of the month. If you are interested in learning more about our organization, we welcome you to join us at our monthly meetings every third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 at the back of the church across from Grotto with the blessed Mother. La despensa de alimentos, ubicada en lo que antes era la capilla, ahora está abierta dos días al mes el cuarto miércoles y sábado de 10 am a mediodía para aquellos que residen en los códigos postales 33614, 33615, 33634 y 33635. The Faith Formation Offices wish everyone a wonderful New Year. We will see you in class on January 8th.Also, a few reminders for those preparing to make sacraments this year. January 11th is a Mandatory Confirmation workshop for all registered students. It will be at 6 p.m. in St. Michael’s Hall. For students registered for Reconciliation and Communion you have a Mandatory workshop on Saturday, January 14th, in St. Michael's Hall, beginning at 10:00am. A parent or adult must attend and help students at the workshop. If you have not already registered for Confirmation, please sign up in August for the 2023/2024 Faith Formation year.

La Oficina de Formación en la Fe les desean a todos un maravilloso Año Nuevo. Nos vemos de vuelta en clase el 8de enero. Además, algunos recordatorios para aquellos que hacen sacramentos este año. BENDICIONES

Las lecturas de hoy incluyen otro relato de la historia del nacimiento de Jesús. La lectura del libro de los Números nos recuerda que somos bendecidos. Se nos mira con bondad y gracia. El Salmo y Gálatas nos recuerdan las bendiciones concedidas a través del Hijo de Dios. Lucas nos habla de nuestra última bendición, que María, un ser humano como nosotros, dio a luz a un niño que es el Hijo de Dios. María, una joven madre, observa todo lo que ocurre en torno al nacimiento de su hijo. Escucha cómo los pastores traen mensajes de los ángeles, un mensaje que ella también recibió de un ángel, sobre su hijo. Sin embargo, María permanece en silencio. Guarda para sí todas estas noticias sobre su hijo. Reflexiona sobre todas estas experiencias. Lo único que comparte es el nombre de su hijo, Jesús, un nombre que se le dio antes de que fuera concebido. Su silencio nos hace preguntarnos si es así como se responde a una bendición tan grande.
