I pray these lines find all doing well. All is good here. All the priests will be going on convocation with Bishop Parkes the first week of October, I will be here that next weekend but then I will be going on vacation and back in November. Articles will be resuming in November – I pray you can survive without my written words of wisdom until then LOL. I’m hoping to get lots of R and R and maybe paint a few decoys in my time away. I will miss the parish but will be back before you know it – take good care of Fr. Michael Owen for me!

Today the apostles ask Jesus that their faith may be increased, and Jesus says something amazing to them in reply – “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed’ –you could accomplish amazing things. Jesus here is speaking about pure and true faith. Having faith Jesus is referring to means that there is no doubt at all, there is no second guessing, no what if – you trust totally and that’s it.

In other words, if we pray and ask God to handle something and then we continue to worry about it, do we really have faith? The scriptures are loaded with story after story of very difficult situations people find themselves in. the situations some of them are in are truly dire – and yet they trust that God will help them.

There is one other part of scripture I want to bring into this, we hear that “because of their lack of faith, Jesus was unable to perform mighty deeds in that area.” NOW, obviously, Jesus can do anything, but He chooses to use the amount of faith we bring to any situation.

I pray you all have a blessed time while I’m away. – know that the parish will be in my daily prayers! God bless You!

Prayer for Protection against Storms & Hurricanes

Our Father in Heaven through the intercession of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, spare us during this Hurricane season from all harm. Protect us and our homes from all disasters of nature. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Dear Parishioners, The purpose for our ministry is to provide comfort, warmth, and love through the articles we hand crochet or knit. Among the items are shawls, lap blankets, baby blankets. We provide these items to those children and adults that are gravely sick, recovering from surgery, a severe injury, fighting cancer. If you knit or crochet, or would like to learn how to, please join our ministry. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month (September - May Only) at 7:00 p.m. in St Patrick’s classroom. Eucharist Minister & Reader Workshops

Registration is now open for one of our fall workshops for new & experienced Readers and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion at Mass. The Office of Worship is conducting these workshops in four (4) locations throughout the Diocese of St. Petersburg, three will be offered in English and one will be offered in Spanish. These workshops offer a great opportunity for veteran ministers to reflect upon their ministry and to updated their skills. Thanksgiving Food Drive

Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Tampa, Florida

Incarnation’s Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s mission is to lend a helping hand to those who are going through a difficult time. We are kicking off our 1st annual Thanksgiving Food Drive in order to provide a Thanksgiving Day meal for our Incarnation parishioners in need. If your family is in need, or you know of anyone in our parish family who may benefit from a Thanksgiving food bag, please call our helpline at 813-421-2201. Leave a brief message including your full name, phone number and the purpose of your call.

Oct. 8th and 9th members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society will be distributing bags after all masses with the list of needed food items for the Thanksgiving Food Drive. Monetary donations to purchase gift cards for turkeys will be appreciated. Please bring your filled grocery bag with the items listed below on October 15th and 16th or Oct. 22nd and 23rd after all masses.

Food bags will be distributed on Saturday, November 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in front of St. Michael’s Hall.

Estamos iniciando nuestra 1ª Campaña Anual de Alimentos de Acción de Gracias para proporcionar una comida del Día de Acción de Gracias para nuestros feligreses necesitados de nuestra iglesia. Society of St. Vincent de Paul –Incarnation Conference

Thanks to the generous support from our parish, we have assisted, from February to midAugust, 99 households consisting of 238 people in our community with rent, utilities, food, and other expenses. And we have been able to help them solely because of your generosity. The food pantry, located in what was previously the chapel, is now open two days a month on the fourth Wednesday and Saturday from 10am to noon for those who reside in the 33614, 33615, 33634 and 33635 zip codes. Those in need may also call 813-421-2201 for an appointment. We appreciate your continued support with food and monetary donations every third Sunday of the month. If you are interested in learning more about our organization, we welcome you to join us at our monthly meetings every third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 in the room at the back of the church. Ruego que estas líneas encuentren que todo va bien. Todo está bien aquí. Todos los sacerdotes irán a la convocatoria con el obispo Parkes la primera semana de octubre, estaré aquí el próximo fin de semana, pero luego me iré de vacaciones y regresaré en noviembre. Espero obtener mucho descanso, recreaciones, y tal vez pintar algunos señuelos en mi tiempo libre. Hoy los apóstoles le piden a Jesús que aumente su fe, y Jesús les dice algo asombroso en respuesta: “Si tuvieran fe del tamaño de una semilla de mostaza”, podrían lograr cosas asombrosas. Jesús aquí está hablando de la fe pura y verdadera. Tener fe a la que Jesús se refiere significa que no hay ninguna duda, no hay segundas adivinaciones, no qué pasaría si, confías totalmente y eso es todo.

En otras palabras, si oramos y le pedimos a Dios que maneje algo y luego seguimos preocupándonos por eso, ¿realmente tenemos fe? Las Escrituras están llenas de historia tras historia de situaciones muy difíciles en las que se encuentran las personas. Las situaciones en las que se encuentran algunos de ellos son realmente terribles y, sin embargo, confían en que Dios los ayudará.

Hay otra parte de las Escrituras que quiero traer a esto, escuchamos que "debido a su falta de fe, Jesús no pudo realizar proezas en esa área". AHORA, obviamente, Jesús puede hacer cualquier cosa, pero elige usar la cantidad de fe que aportamos a cualquier situación.
