why you chose it, what was the focus of the brief and how long you spent on it. Design Context

The design context publication submitted is a 2-part document. The main section entitled ‘Bookmarks’ is a collection of bookmarked projects collated over the three year period on the course. The smaller section, ‘Documents’ is a collection of images and scans that have influenced and aided me as a designer – all found in my documents folder.

BRIEF 1

BAGD Yearbook. Design a prospective publication for the BAGD graduating year of 2013. The brief stemmed over a long period of FMP, probably pushing 8 weeks, maybe longer. It was exciting to be part of documenting our year as a whole and having input on a publication that will be a remembrance point for myself and other post university.

BRIEF 2

Michi. Create an identity and promotional material for LCA Fashion Design student Liz Michie. I started off this module with the intention to pursue designing for the fashion industry. I wanted to add another fashion branding project to my portfolio, particularly one that allowed a little more experimentation but still with a high end feel. The collaboration with Liz stemmed throughout the majority of FMP

BRIEF 3

Twelve Trips. Twelve Trips is a publication exploring 12 individual journeys across the UK. The brief was an opportunity to explore and enhance a variety of skills as a designer that I wanted to build upon throughout FMP. Enjoying working with experimental formats, it utilised my publication design skills, layout and image making techniques.

BRIEF 4

Waveform. Re-brand of an electronic music festival called Waveform. As the collaboration with Matt Tucker on the Audio Doughnuts brief didn’t commence, I wanted to find a similar brief to work on. Audio Doughnuts are a London based record label and event organiser so I wanted to design for something with similar objectives.

Additional Comments: I commenced two other briefs entitled ‘UK manufacturing logo’ and ‘Gang Fatale’, both of which I decided to set back and focus my full attention on 4 main briefs and my design context publication
