CAT BALOU CRUISES CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF WHALE WATCHING The whale watching season is in full swing and Cat Balou Cruises based in Eden, are having a whale of a time watching the majestic Humpback whales on their southern migration. Cat Balou Cruises are celebrating their 20th year of whale watching and are the most experienced whale watching operators in NSW. They depart daily from Eden, one of the few ports that has direct ocean access with no bar crossings. Humpbacks are the main species sighted, however there is a possibility of seeing other species including Southern Right, Bryde’s, Minke, Blue

& Orca. On most trips dolphins, seals and many species of birdlife are also sighted. The whales generally arrive from mid September and continue passing Eden until late November. The first to arrive are the sub adults, followed by the mother and calf pods which often come right into Twofold Bay, giving their young a chance to rest en route to the Antarctic. Eden is one of the few places in the world that Humpbacks feed on their migratory route. It’s an awesome experience to see the inside of a Humpback whale's mouth!
Cat Balou offer a choice of two whale watching cruises - their popular half day morning trip (departing daily) or a shorter Budget Whale Watch which operates on selected afternoons. On the rare occasion whales aren’t sighted, passengers receive a return free cruise or half fare refunded. This applies to both whale watching cruises. Bookings are essential for all cruises; phone 0427 260 489 or 0427 962 027. Cat Balou Cruises update their whale sightings each day on their web site www.catbalou.com.au

Eden
Must see & Do
Ben Boyd National Park - Kiah Inlet George Bass and Mathew Flinders were the first Europeans to ‘discover’ Twofold Bay in 1798, but the region had been inhabited by members of the Yuin nation for thousands of years, attracted by the rich food resources offered by the sea and surrounding forests. A permanent shore-based whaling station was first established by the Imlay Brothers in the 1830s, and whaling continued for another century. You can experience some of the town’s history at the Eden Killer Whale Museum, and see the skeleton of “Old Tom”, Eden’s famous killer whale. For a real taste of life in the whaling industry you can also visit Davidson’s Whaling
Station, the longest operating shorebased whaling station in Australia, located on Kiah Inlet at Twofold Bay. Eden is now famous as a destination for whale-watching, with migrations occurring in late autumn and spring. To celebrate the significance of whales to the town, Eden holds its Whale Festival in November each year. Eden is a paradise for those who love to fish, with kilometres of beaches, river estuaries and rock platforms to explore, as well as charter boat operations for access for deep-sea fishing. Eden has beautiful beaches close to town; try Aslings Beach for a surf or to explore rock pools, or Corcora Beach for fun with the family.

Pambula

Pambula Beach - Pambula Lake - Wyndham The Pambula River floodplain was for thousands of years a source of food and materials for the Thaua people of the Yuin nation. Europeans first explored the region during George Bass's southern voyage of 1797. Seeking shelter from a gale, Bass travelled up the Pambula River, noting its beauty in his diary. A marker has been erected by the National Parks and Wildlife Service on this historic site. European settlement began in the 1830s, with the original township built on the southern banks of the Pambula River. Severe flooding in the 1860s meant the town had to be re-located to its present site on higher ground. Timber, maize, wattlebark, dairying and oyster farming formed the basis of the local economy in the late nineteenth century. However in 1888, gold was discovered on the banks of the Yowaka River, and by 1891 there were eleven mining companies in operation. Pambula’s historic past is very much in evidence today, with beautifully restored and maintained historic buildings and farmhouses.
This thriving village has an eclectic mix of businesses, with art galleries, cafes, restaurants, gift shops, and pubs. At the southern end of the town is Panboola, a community-managed recreational area that is restoring parts of the floodplain and former race course. Just 5 minutes east of the village is Pambula Beach, set between the ocean, the mouth of Pambula River and Ben Boyd National Park. There are several safe beaches here, as well walking tracks and viewing platforms. Heading south from Pambula, turn off the Highway to Pambula Lake, where there’s a boat ramp for launching vessels. Several oyster growers sell fresh Pambula Lake oysters here too.

Merimbula is the tourist hub of the Bega Valley with its lakeside restaurants and cafes, and a vast array of attractions and accommodation choices. Merimbula has a long history of human occupation, with Aboriginal people making the most of the available food resources, leaving behind middens that are still visible today. In more recent times, Merimbula was one of several coastal trading ports connecting the region to the outside world, as the area was relatively isolated with a lack of rail or road access. The Old School Museum on Main St has information and displays about the town’s early history. With its beautiful location on the shores of Merimbula Lake, there are plenty of places to enjoy the view; looking across the bay from the restored Merimbula Wharf, enjoying the sunrise or sunset from the Boardwalk around the southern section of the Lake, or strolling around Fishpen watching the pelicans.

Native orchids and bonsai on display at Native Orchid Show The Sapphire Coast Orchid Club will hold its Australian Native Orchid Show at Twyford Hall, Merimbula, on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th November. The show will feature Australian native orchids, including many dainty Sarcochilus orchids that are rarely seen in their wild state. Whilst their flowers are small (up to 3cm) they are displayed in profusion. Careful breeding has extended their colour range from pure crystalline white, through yellows to pinks and reds with combinations of all of these as spots or stripes. Because they flower at this time of the

Renowned Merimbula bonsai expert David Hof, who has been creating bonsai trees for over 30 years, will have a display of his craft at the Show and bonsai trees for sale. THE 29th MAMBO MERIMBULA CLASSIC Incorporating the Naish Sup Sessions
A L U IMB
R E M O B M A MA L U B M I R E M O B M A A M L U B M I R E M At Main B Beach Merimbula 26 - 29 November O MAM The world’s longest running wave sailing competition the Mambo Merimbula Classic, incorporating the Naish Sup (Stand up paddle) Sessions, will be held from Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th November 2009.
will be hot as competitors vie for a share of the prize pool, plus the prestigious trophies awarded to top performers in a variety of categories.
It’s the 29th annual event and the Merimbula Sailboard Club are expecting to see the best wave sailors, kite surfers and stand up paddle surfers from around the world.
Competitors meet daily at Ford Park, and as soon as the wind gets up to around 10knots, the kite-surfers hit the water, whilst the wave sailors need 15knots plus. Add a big swell to this equation and a truly spectacular event unfolds.
The introduction of Stand Up Paddle boards makes things more interesting when the winds aren’t so strong, and promises to attract more competitors. These graceful boards had their origins in Hawaii and have spread in popularity around the world’s surfing spots.
There are plenty of excellent vantage points around to view the action. Bar Beach offers the full panorama of Merimbula Bay, with Main Beach also providing a good viewing spot. Pambula River Mouth and Short Point are good spots to watch competitors practice and test the conditions.
A Stand Up Paddle race is being held on the Saturday 28th November around 11am, starting at the beach at Ford Park. An armada of paddle boards will paddle up and down the channel, providing a spectacular view from Merimbula.
Local radio stations 2EC Power FM (765 AM/105.9 FM) and ABC Southeast (810 AM/103.5FM) report regularly on the action, so keep tuned in, or check at the Tourist Informaton Centre.
With thousands of dollars in prizes to be won, the action

Much-loved musician and actor Jon English is the first entertainer to perform as part of the Bega Cheese Concert Series, a new partnership between Bega Cheese and The Rotary Club of Pambula Inc. The Concert Series was devised to bring a range of high profile performers to the Bega Valley, and to continue to raise funds for the Sapphire Aquatic Centre, where construction is about to commence. In the short term, the Bega Cheese Concert Series will replace the highly popular but challenging-to-organise Sapphire Rock concerts.
Jon is playing on Saturday November 7th at the Merimbula RSL Club, with the evening kicking off at 8pm. He'll be performing all his hits, including Hollywood Seven, Turn the Page,
Some People, Six Ribbons, She was Real, Hot Town, Get Your Love Right, Words Are Not Enough and Superstar. Supporting Jon is Jonah's Road, who in September got the gig as support act for international rock icon Suzi Quatro when she played the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. Tickets are $30 per person and are selling quickly, so book now on 6495 1502. All proceeds from the performance will go to the Sapphire Aquatic Centre.

Glorious Open Gardens and Galleries in Tanja The natural beauty of Tanja has attracted many creative people over the last twenty years. Visitors will be able to experience this creative vision when three spectacular gardens open the weekend of the 14 & 15 November with Australia’s Open Garden Scheme. Madeleine’s Garden is the creation of ceramicist Madeleine Meyer. The Mediterranean-styled garden is designed to encourage wandering and provides the perfect background to display Meyer’s distinctive and vibrant pieces. 1426 Bermagui Rd, Tanja Deb and Jack’s Garden has been created to provide an area for growing
fruit and vegetables on an exposed windy hill. This is how a kitchen garden should be – brimming with healthy seasonal fare. 1390 Bermagui Rd, Tanja Catherine and Philip’s Garden is a grand vision resulting in extensive landscaping in the form of large basalt rocks in long dry stone walls, terraces linked by sweeping curves of steps, and arched arbours. 1392 Bermagui Rd, Tanja Join Margaret Sirl, ABC South East Radio’s Gardening Expert for a walk through the gardens, starting at 3pm Saturday and 10am Sunday (meeting place Madeleine’s Garden). At Ivy Hill Gallery, a botanically themed
exhibition is open from 10am to 5pm each day. The garden at Ivy Hill Gallery is another delight to add to your experience. 1795 Bermagui - Tathra Road Wapengo, www.ivyhill.com.au. The Tanja Gardens will be open between 10am & 4.30pm at a combined entry fee of $12. Children u18 free. For further information, phone Alison Stewart on 6230 3143. Catherine & Phillip's

Bega
Must see & Do
Home of the world famous Bega Cheese Bega is a place of natural beauty, surrounded by lush pastures and forests hugging the escarpment. Views of Mumbulla Mountain to the north and the escarpment to the west are best appreciated from the Lookout, located just 3 kilometres north of town on the Princes Hwy. In the language of local Aboriginal people, members of the Yuin nation, Bega is said to mean “large camping ground”; it would have been a place of great abundance. The dairy industry has always played a major part in the Bega economy, and this is still the case today, with the Bega Cheese Co-op one of Australia’s leading manufacturers of dairy products. A visit to the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre is a must; the Heritage Centre has a wonderful display of cheese and butter-making equipment from the 1900s, and provides an insight into how early farmers lived, worked and transported their products. The Heritage Centre is also home to the Bega Tourist Information Centre, which provides information about attractions throughout the region.
Bega is still a friendly country town, even though the demographics have changed over the past 30 years, with many people moving from cities to enjoy the relaxed country lifestyle. Bega has a thriving arts community with its own Regional Gallery, which hosts several major exhibitions each year, as well as the artist-run Spiral Gallery.

Bega Secrets Mention Bega and most people think ‘cheese’, but there’s a lot more to Bega than a lot of black and white cows. With streetscapes full of historic buildings, lots of friendly faces and plenty of places to park the car, Bega is a great place to visit and shop . You’ll be pleasantly surprised to find all sorts of specialty retailers, galleries and cafes when you wander through the town’s streets and walkways. When you’ve had your fill of retail therapy and enjoyed a good coffee, there are plenty of historic sights to see, including St John’s Anglican Church (c1850), the recently rebuilt Bega Court House, the War Memorial and the Clock Tower. It’s not just about the past though. On November 20 - 22 is the inaugural Bega Valley Festival, with its theme ‘Communities in Transition’ . The Festival includes a Sustainable Land Use and Living Expo and a Clean Energy Expo, demonstrating the Bega Valley’s commitment to a sustainable future. 6 secrets for yourself.... Wallaga Lake - Cuttagee Beach Bermagui offers visitors a myriad of things to do and places to go. Pristine beaches and lakes provide water activities from surfing to swimming, snorkelling, boating and canoeing. Book a fishing charter on one of the many local boats or throw in a line from the beach, rocks or along the Bermagui River. Try out the 18-hole golf course, hit a ball around the tennis courts or play bowls. Test your riding skills at the Bermagui Mountain Bike Park. Go bush walking, take a guided walk or bird watch in the surrounding National Parks and State Forests. Take a guided tour of the Montreal Goldfield and learn about the discovery of gold in the 1880s. Drive south to taste local wines and enjoy a meal at the Mimosa Drystone Restaurant. There is a range of accommodation in Bermagui including B&Bs, motels, tourist/caravan parks, self-contained holiday units and houses and camping. The historic Bermagui Beach Hotel offers fine food, beverages and
accommodation in truly spectacular location overlooking Horseshoe Bay. Bermagui is undergoing something of a building boom, with the new $3.5m Fisherman's Co-op set to open in December. This magnificent building, designed by architect Phillip Cox, features timber in its construction, including white stringybark poles that were harvested locally. After receiving almost $1m in funding from the Federal Government, it is hoped that the club rooms of the Bermagui Surf Lifesaving Club at Horseshoe Bay will be completed by mid-2010. Bermagui is a fantastic place to base yourself when on holiday. After you've finished exploring all the things to do around town, it's only a short drive to Foxglove Gardens at Tilba Tilba, and the historic village Central Tilba. Cobargo, the village famous for its working craftspeople, is only a 15 minute drive away. The Bermagui Visitor Information Centre in Bunga Street is open 7 days from 10am - 4pm, ph 02 6493 3054.

Fishing Report - November Summer is almost upon us and with it the promise of warmer water, longer days and heaps more fish for everyone. Offshore: A great month to fish offshore for a wide range of species. Anglers after a feed should have no problem with sand and tiger flathead, snapper, morwong, pigfish and yellowtail kingfish all on the cards. Most reefs will hold fish with Montague Island and Mowarry Point the hotspots for kingies. Fishos using jigs, live bait and fresh squid will have best success. One thing to remember with kingfish is the legal size has now increased to 65cm so be wary of the changes. Out wider the water temperature will be hovering around 19 degrees and that means tuna. Yellowfin and albacore should be around with trolling skirted lures and bibbed minnows the best way to target them. You get to cover a lot of territory when trolling and once the fish are located, concentrate your efforts around them. Trolling from the 70 fathom line outwards is the go early in the season. Rocks: Salmon numbers along the south coast have been the best for years, with anglers having a great time catching them on lures and whole pilchards. Deeper ledges and break walls have produced with Tura Head, Tathra Head, Bermagui, Mystery Bay and Pretty Point the pick of them. Bread and butter species like drummer, blackfish and bream will be available in the washes with cabbage, prawns and cunjevoi the best baits. Using a float rig is ideal for blackfish while lightly weighted bait is best for drummer and bream. Beaches: Bream and whiting numbers will be on the increase with most beaches producing. Using fresh bait like live beach worms and pipi just
past the shore break in deeper gutters will produce the goods. Fishing rocky corners of beaches with a lot of whitewater is dynamite for the bream with burley also increasing catch rates. Salmon, tailor and yellow-eye mullet will be available to with chrome lures, pilchards and bluebait on paternoster rigs ideal presentations for the pelagic species. Better beaches to try are Tura, Gillards, Cuttagee, Camel Rock, Congo and Barlings. Estuaries: The best month of the year to fish the estuaries I think. All species will chew with flathead, bream, blackfish, tailor, and mulloway all available. Warmer water species like whiting and flounder will be around to with squirt worms and bass yabbies the gun baits. Soft plastics will account for a lot of the fish especially flathead, but anglers using fish fillets like striped tuna and slimy mackerel will also do well. All estuaries will produce, but the bigger, deeper systems like Narooma and Batemans Bay are ideal for mulloway and big, big flathead. Tight lines till next month Stuart Hindson Stuart Hindson is the owner of Aussie Fish Estuary Adventures, and provides guided fishing charters from Wonboyn to Batemans Bay and all estuaries in between. With over 20 years experience in the industry, Stuart really knows his fishing. Check out his website at www.ausfishing.com.au for more information, or call Stuart on 0400 062 504 or 02 6495 9902 to book a fishing experience you won’t forget.

Cobargo
Must see & Do
Cobargo is located half an hour north of Bega, in the midst of lush, green pastures rolling away to forested mountains. The village was established with a Post Office, general store, school, hotel, church and blacksmith during the 1870s around the butter and cheesemaking industries. In the 1860s, Cobargo was known as Wattletown, as bark stripped from local wattle trees was shipped to Sydney and Melbourne to be used in the tanning industry. This industry only ceased in 1964. Cobargo was also known as The Junction because of the junction of the Narira and Bredbatoura Creeks in the middle of the town. A Butter Factory and Co-op were established in 1901 and continued production, except for a short break due to fire, until 1980, when it closed because of changes in bulk milk production. The town was large enough from the 1890s onwards to support a newspaper, ‘The Cobargo Watch’. Today, Cobargo is a wonderful
example of a working village of local artisans, with many of buildings over 100 years old, reflecting the charm of the art & craft housed within them. The two storey building that is home to “Bangles Gallery” is a fine example of century-old architecture, and features lovely wrought iron lace work around the verandahs.. Take a stroll around the town and experience the delightful ambience of yesteryear. Take your pick from an array of art and craft, rare gems and jewelry, pottery, woodwork & leatherwork, or hunt among the collectables, curios and old wares on offer. Recharge your batteries at Valley Edge Cafe with great coffee and a fresh, delectable menu. Take a few minutes to enjoy the beautiful photography that adorns the walls - there are some truly spectacular images. Quaama, just south of Cobargo, is where you’ll find Fruit Ballad Wines. It’s well worth the short trip to drop in and try some of Jane’s wonderful hand-made fruit wines.; you’re bound to find something new.

INTRODUCED FRIENDS With the warmer weather with us, what better time than to discuss the beautiful Protea, Leucodendron and Leucospermum range of plants. This group of plants are introduced to Australia and are in the same family as our beautiful Banksia, Telopea and Grevillea. They range in colours of yellow, pink, green and red and from low ground covers to tall shrubs and there are now many varieties to suit all types of gardens. Growing this group of plants is relatively easy as long as you follow a few simple rules. It is important to ensure they have adequate drainage. They all prefer a nice sandy loam or open soil with some varieties tolerating a heavier soil as long as it is not a heavy clay soil. If you do have a heavier soil it will be necessary to first mound the soil to improve it and then dig in compost and gypsum to break up any residual clay. Most varieties require an acidic soil with a pH below 6, although some tolerate neutral to alkaline soils with a pH above 7. If this is a bit confusing, talk to your local nursery person who will be able to set you straight.
They love a nice sunny spot and the more sun you give them, the more flowers you will get, and what a great cut flower they make. The flowers, once cut, can remain inside for a lengthy period and retain their colour. All plants in the Proteaceae group dislike any root disturbance so it is critical for their successful growth to mulch. Natural mulch such as bark, straw and leaves protect the plant’s surface roots from being disturbed. If you have to weed, remove the weeds manually and do not use chemicals. Although the plants are generally dry tolerant, it is crucial during their first summer to water at least twice a week to ensure they establish a strong root system. Unless the plant is in a very free draining sandy area, starve the plant of nutrient and it will perform much better. If your particular plant does require additional feeding most growers will indicate this on the label information. Some of the varieties make excellent potted plants so check out the most suitable varieties at your local nursery. Finally, a few things to remember. Some plants in this group can take up to three

Tilba
Must see & Do
Tilba Tilba - Central Tilba The villages of Tilba Tilba and Central Tilba lie on the slopes of Gulaga, a place of great spiritual significance to the local Yuin nation. Named Mt. Dromedary by Captain Cook in 1770, the lower slopes of Gulaga became the site of much activity when gold was discovered in the 1860s. Many of Tilba’ s buildings were constructed in the late 1880s when the gold boom was at its peak. By the time mining ceased, the dairy industry was firmly established as the main source of income for the area. The village of Tilba Tilba, just a few kilometres south of Central Tilba, is also protected by a National Heritage listing. Tilba Tilba is home to the magnificent Foxglove Spires, featuring one of Australia’s finest open gardens covering 3.5 acres. There is also a cafe, giftware, antiques and a nursery on site. Tilba Tilba also has a general store, and is the base for the walk up Gulaga. The entire village of Central Tilba was classified by he National Trust in 1974 in recognition of its historical significance.

Must see & Do
Montague Island - Dalmeny - Bodalla - Tuross Heads With the stunning blue waters of Wagonga Inlet surrounding the town, and Gulaga (Mt Dromedary) in the background, Narooma is one of the most picturesque places on the Far South Coast. Delightful timber buildings, like Narooma’s historic Uniting Church, reflect the area’s early dependence on sawmilling. Narooma has also maintained its maritime traditions with fishing charters, whale-watching trips, houseboats and boat hire all available around town. A visit to Narooma would not be complete without a trip to the multiaward winning Montague Island Nature Reserve with its historic light station, opened in 1881. The Island is a nesting place for three species of sea birds, home to a colony of Little Penguins, and a haul-out site for Australian and New Zealand Fur Seals. Back on shore, there are great shared walking and cycle tracks around Narooma, including from the Wharf along the foreshore to the Narooma Bridge, the Mill Bay boardwalk (look out for stingrays and fish) to Apex Park, Dalmeny to Mummaga Lake (great ocean views) and the Bridge to the marinas at Forster’s Bay.
Narooma’s main beach, located at the southern end of the golf course, is patrolled during summer. There are several playgrounds around town, a skate bowl, cinema, lawn bowls, plenty of shops, cafes, even an indoor pool and rock-climbing centre. The tiny village of Bodalla is situated between Narooma and Moruya and boasts some fine 19th century church architecture, a Bowling Club and a great old- fashioned country pub. The town was developed by Thomas Mort in the late 1800’s as a private country estate based around the dairy and cheese making industries. It remained a private village until 1924, providing housing for workers and their families. The Mort family continued to own land in the district until 1987. A feature of the town is its magnificent Anglican Church, which was commissioned by the Mort family in memory of Thomas Mort and his wife. Work began on the Church in 1880 and was completed in 1901.

The name Moruya is derived from an Aboriginal word (the area's original inhabitants are the Bugelli-Manji tribe) meaning 'home of the black swan'. Set on the banks of the Moruya River, the township has many beautifully preserved buildings, churches and streetscape, and is a great place to explore. Moruya is famous for supplying the granite for the piers of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, as well as Sydney’s Post Office, the Bank of NSW and the Cenotaph in Martin Place. These days, Moruya is known for the large, intricately carved wooden poles that are dotted along the footpath of the main street. Moruya has a wide array of specialty shops for those looking for something unique. Fantastic cafes, restaurants and hotels with live music can also be found in this bustling little town. Old Mogo Town - Mogo Zoo The township of Mogo was born when gold was discovered in the early 1850s at Cabbage Tree Creek. Estimates of the number of diggers who converged on the town range from a conservative 200 to an unlikely 20,000. Certainly there were enough people to support a number of stores, pubs and churches and a public school, which is still operating today. To experience what the town was like during the boom, a visit to Old Mogo Town is a must. Mogo is now famous for its great range of specialty stores, housed in replica nineteenth century timber buildings. There are potteries, galleries, antique stores, bookshop and coffee shops, many of which specialise in unusual

and interesting items. Mogo is the perfect place to spend time browsing for something a little bit different. Also in Mogo is the internationally recognised Mogo Zoo, home to 39 rare and exotic species, inlcuding the rare white lions of ‘Timbavati’.

Like many coastal towns, Batemans Bay, settled by Europeans in the 1820s, relied on timber, ship building, dairying and fishing as its main source of income in the previous century. The town is accessed from the north by its famous lifting span bridge, the oldest of its type in Australia; the bridge celebrated its 50th birthday in 2006. Now a thriving regional centre and major tourist destination, people come to Batemans Bay from all over Australia for its natural beauty. Situated on the banks of the magnificent Clyde River, water is deeply ingrained in the culture of ‘the Bay’. Swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, surfing and diving are all within easy reach of town. The Batemans Marine Park ensures that the coastal environment is protected for future generations. Hire a boat, kayak or even a houseboat to explore the spectacular upper reaches of the Clyde River. There are a myriad of beaches to explore, views to enjoy and walks to take, no matter what the season. Batemans Bay is a great destination

Delight in "Seussical, The Musical" by Bay Theatre Players "A Person's a Person, no matter how small........." Even if you have never uttered the words "I do not like green eggs and ham" the Bay Theatre Players have cooked up a treat that will certainly appeal to your tastes. A musical extravaganza filled with toetapping tunes, "Seussical, The Musical" borrows its plot directly from the characters and occurrences in various Dr Seuss books including "Horton Hears a Who". The result is a production that takes the audience on an unpredictable ride through the depths of fantasy, from the tiny town of Whoville to the wild Jungle of Nool. Boasting a score and libretto by the
Tony Award winning team of Lyn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, "Seussical, The Musical" opened at the Richard Rogers Theatre in 2000. “Seussical” is an all singing, all dancing show that will have you leaving the theatre humming a tune! A real family show suitable for 3yrs to 93yrs. Like most of Dr Seuss's stories, "Seussical" contains a much more profound message than is obvious on the surface. The show touches on themes of loyalty, friendship, imagination, family, bullying and even single parenthood! Horton’s poignant ballad "Alone in the Universe", Jojo's magical "It's Possible" and the Cat in the Hat's jazzy "How
