Inspired by Queen Victoiria’s eldest son, King Edward VII, also known as Bertie, the bar is a homage to his love of life. Guests can lose themself in the “labyrinth of whisky bottlels arranged like books on a shelf’, says the website and it is not wrong. The bottles, which are all backlit, cast an amber glow over the room, and creating a sensory experience which almost makes you feel that you are immersed in the liquid. There are 365 whiskies, one for every day of the year, and they are arranged by flavour profile. Bertie’s is open Monday to Friday from 8pm to midnight. It is an whisky bar that you really have to experience!
