The Canny Man’s public house was established in 1871 by James Kerr and is a unique familyrun business. The bar and restaurant is now in the hands of the 5th generation of the Kerr family and is widely recognised as an Edinburgh institution. The main bar gantry holds over 250 different single malt Scotch whiskies alongside international varieties and blends. All of these are served by 35ml measures in a Glencairn glass with Uisge Sources whisky waters. The restaurant focuses on fresh Scottish produce with a particular emphasis on seafood. Those visiting The Canny Man’s have no need to rush as they have 12 boutique hotel rooms on site at The Lane Hotel.
