Award-winning Whiski Rooms (BII whisky bar of the Year 2014) is situated on the Mound and is quite a unique venue. Not only does it have a bar and all-day dining bistro/restaurant, but it also boasts a specialist whisky shop and tasting rooms. This is the ideal venue for whisky enthusiasts as the bar operates a ‘try before you buy’ policy whereby any whisky you try in the bar can then be bought from the adjoining shop. You can arrange to take part in a dedicated tasting session run by experts, or treat yourself to a great whisky cocktail. It is also an Ardbeg Embassy – the only one in Scotland. But it’s not just whisky this bar excels at; it also offers a wide range of beers, lagers, and premium spirits as well as very tasty fresh Scottish food.
