Exercise has been proven to help maintain healthy bones as well as having many other physical and mental health benefits. Depending on the circumstances of the individual, an exercise plan can contain low, moderate or high impact activities, or a combination of all three.

High Impac t E x e rc ise s High impact exercises are not suitable for everyone as they place the most stress on the body, but for healthy individuals they will glean the fastest results. High impact exercises include track events, games such as volleyball or basketball, high-level jumps, tuck jumps and star jumps.
Lo w I m pac t E x e r ci s es Low impact exercises are those that place the least stress on bones, muscles and joints. These include walking and marching, climbing stairs, stamping feet and performing gentle heel drops.

Moderate impact exercises include activities such as running or jogging, low-level jumping, skipping or hopping, dancing, racket sports and other team sports.
The effectiveness of all levels of exercise can be improved by adding resistance, such as resistance bands or small weights
