Somerfords’ Walter Powell School News We hope you have all enjoyed the summer and the glorious weather. All children and staff have returned refreshed and with much enthusiasm for the Autumn Term. Welcome As we begin a new academic year at Somerfords’ Walter Powell we welcome Oliver, Max B, Freddy, Logan, Max M and Lottie into our Reception class. We also welcome Leah into Year 2 and Lucas into Year 6. They are already settling in very well and we hope they will be very happy with us. As we continue to adapt to the ‘new normal’ way of school life, we are delighted to inform you that all children are now back at school and learning in their new year groups. During Term 6 the school work was focusing on the 7 Continents and we all enjoyed traveling around the world together (albeit virtually!). We also said goodbye to our Year 6 children and managed to make their last weeks in school memorable, if a little different. They all enjoyed their picnic in the Jubilee Gardens and their mini party when they posed for the socially distancing ‘Cheers’ photo and even did the conga around the school field!
