Welcome to DSE Fair Aalborg 2018 Once more, it is with great pleasure, we in DSE welcome you to DSE Fair Aalborg 2018. We hope this fair will strengthen your network and provide a greater insight into the companies present at the fair. DSE Fair Aalborg is your opportunity to meet about 70 companies from a wide range of fields relevant for most engineering students. Some of the participating companies are globally well known with thousands of employees, others are smaller and might be unfamiliar. Use this catalog to read up on all the companies at the fair. One of them might have your dream job! We hope you will use the fair to get in touch with different companies and talk about your future work opportunities within those companies, which can e.g. be school project, student job, internship, or full-time job. Regardless of how far you are from graduating, the fair has something to offer. We recommend that you use this catalog to find the relevant companies you want to visit at the fair. Then prepare yourself by finding information on

these companies and preparing some questions for them before the fair. By doing this, you will be well-prepared and professional when talking to the companies. Fair Prepare This year we have invited Kim Bisgaard, director, partner and business psychologist at the recruitment agency betterpeople A/S. Kim is a specialist in recruiting and has been in the field for about 20 years. He will educate you through an active presentation, on - How to identify your values and create the best possible career - How to identify if your future employer has got “it” - How to work on your own success, your competencies, and find your way in the work culture. Join Fair Prepare to gain knowledge about how your future should be and how you get a meaningful career.

Fair Prepare will be held Thursday, October 4 at Fibigerstræde 15, 9220 Aalborg Ø. The doors will open at 16:30 where you can get something to drink and a notebook for the presentation. How to improve the longevity of wind turbine blades As it is today, the leading edge of a wind turbine rotor blade has to be repaired due to harsh weather conditions and increased rotor speed. Therefore, it is important to investigate how to improve the longevity of the leading edge protection systems. Over the last couple of years, R&D has focused on the development of a Rain Erosion Tester, which supports the wind industry in extending the longevity of wind turbine blades. The result is a test system with calibration procedures and a proven level of repeatability, which is internationally acclaimed and used by five companies worldwide, among them LM Wind Power and ORE Catapult.

Meet our software developer, Carlos Moro Garcia Carlos started his Master in Robotics at SDU in Odense in September 2014. He would like to do an internship as part of his studies, and his thesis supervisor recommended MiR. The internship turned into a student job that turned into a fulltime job – first in technical support and later as a software developer. “A lot has happened during the past two years”, Carlos says: “In 2015, MiR was only two years old and had 12 employees. Today we are 110. The company is growing insanely, and we have offices in six different countries.”. The expansion gives plenty of room for the employees to grow. “My team helps technical support answer the most complex questions from our customers. It is a constant challenge, solving difficult problems or figuring out how new features can be implemented. The job encourages me to improve my skills,” Carlos says and goes on to explain why it is so important to be on top of your game: “MiR’s robots are used for in-house transportation in a wide range of industries. They have to be safe and collaborative. This demands for highly technical employees who comprehend both the hardware and the extremely advanced software that goes on top”.

Construction

We are responsible for the national road network. Our most important function is to ensure that our infrastructure develops in harmony with future needs. We work in four main areas:

Planning We conduct studies and plans in order to determine where new roads are to be built. For instance, we are currently working on a feasibility study and an environmental impact assessment concerning a new motorway in the center of Jutland. And to prepare the national road network for self-driving vehicles we also work with road design and equipment, IT solutions, traffic consequences, regulation of the area etc.

We guide road users through the traffic, for example via signposting, electronic information boards and traffic information in various media. At our Traffic Centre we have the national overview of the traffic situation 24 hours a day and intervene if urgent or potentially dangerous situations emerge.

Operations Our road network is always open – during maintenance work, on rainy days and even during snowstorms. When we operate and maintain the national roads in partnership with our suppliers, we usually interact with residents and road users, and we do our very best always to focus on their needs.
