umeirah Golf Estates hosted the Men’s Amateur Open 2022 which saw 105 golfers compete on The Fire and Earth Course in a 36-hole stroke play format. Thank you to Solutions Leisure Group for sponsoring the momentous occasion with the leading Emirates Golf Federation member winning a spot in The Al Khaimah Classic. The Men’s Amateur Open 2022 Champion and winning a spot in The Al Khaimah Classic was Drew Foxcroft who scored a total 142 (2 under par). On the Fire Course, Drew shot a 72 (even par) which included four birdies. On the Earth Course Drew played brilliantly shooting a 70 gross with three birdies and only one bogey on his card.

Steffan Jones, Golf Services Manager Narrowly missing out on the top spot by one shot and taking the runner-up place on a card playoff was Craig Vance who scored a wonderful 143 (1 under par), Craig scored a round of 75 (3 over par) despite having four birdies on the Fire Course. Craig came to light on Day 2 scoring a 68 (4 under par) on the Earth Course. In third place after a card playoff in the Men’s Amateur Open was Viggo Sorensen who scored a total 143 (1 under par), Viggo played some exceptional golf scoring a total of nine birdies in the 36-holes. In fourth place again on a card playoff with a score of 143 (1 under par) was Yash Majmudar. Yash was the overnight leader scoring a 69 (3 under par) on the Fire Course, but unfortunately on Day 2, Yash finished with a double bogey on hole 18 to finish one stroke off the lead.
The winner of the Overall Net was won by Raghav Gulati who scored a net 67 on the Fire Course and 73 on the Earth Course totaling a net 140 (4 under par). Runner-up in the Net Prize was Benoit Ardon who scored a total 141 net (3 under par) and third place in the net was Paul Darnault who scored a total 141 net (3 under par) to lose on a card playoff. Winner of the Best Gross Day 1 on the Fire Course was Yash Majmudar who shot 69 (3 under par). Yash had an amazing round which included six birdies. Winner of the Best Gross Day 2 on the Earth Course was Edoardo Galeppini who shot a 68 (4 under par). Edoardo had an excellent back nine score of 31 (5 under par) with a notable six birdies in the last nine holes. Winner of the Best Net Day 1 on the Fire Course was Raghav Gulati who shot a net 67 (5 under par) and winner of the Best Net Day 2 on the Earth Course was Mark Schoombie who shot a net 69 (3 under par). On both days there was an on-course prize, winning nearest the pin in two on hole 18 on day 1 was won by Gavin Sutherland and winning nearest the pin in two on hole 18 on day 2 was Hugo Garcia.
In fifth place in the Men’s Amateur Open was Edoardo Galeppini who scored a total 144 (even par). Edoardo scored a superb 68 (4 under par) on the Earth Course to make his way into the prizes.
