s an automotive magazine, The Fast and the Furious flicks has always been movies that inspires us to provide fans with the best in automotive culture. The movies are not only fun and entertaining, but the cars are also central to the movies’ plots and characters. And with such a diverse collection of rides, they literally have something for everyone, which is what we as a magazine also strive for. So you can imagine our excitement that we were finally able to feature the cast and some of their hottest rides for the new The Fate of the Furious - the 8th installment of the franchise! Lux Motorwerks also shows us their Ferrari 458 Italia transformation from an ordinary exotic into a something special and personal for its owner. Check out the story to see what was done! WWE Superstar The Miz has a largerthan-life personality, which is why his Jeep needed to have the same and DUB was more
than happy to help! The JK needed to have the same attitude and toughness as his prior H2, so the DUB crew went to work to deliver exactly that! We’ve featured DocZilla’s Liberty Walk Ferrari before and now he’s flexing his customizing muscles once again with his Jeep Wrangler build that proves this MD knows a thing a two about rides as much as he does about medicine! Bryan Lin of The Motorsports Authority wanted to do something different for his personal Jeep JK and set out to make it otherworldly. The result is Azrael, named after the Angel of Death. And because this magazine is all about having something for everyone’s automotive tastes, we make sure that the DUB Show Tour reflects the same and our Philly stop was no different! Man, Fetty Wap is huge right now for only being in the hiphop game for three years! But he’s got mad skills and deserves every penny and all the dope ass ride he can get...fo real tho. I caught on to his music when he smashed “Trap Queen” and have been following him ever since. King Zoo is in heavy rotation in my ride right now, too! There are so many under-the-radar players in the NFL, that many don’t get the cred they deserve like Keith McGill. It’s crazy to hear that a pro football player isn’t living his dream job yet and that his true passion and goals is opening up his own shop. But when you have a real passion for something, you should always do what you love and props to McGill for still staying true to his customizing roots! Oh, and his GT-R is SICK! I saw on his IG that he just redid it. Von Miller isn’t just a great player, he’s a great guy! Given the turbulent times we’re living in, it feels good to read stories like these that give back to the community. These guys don’t have to go above and beyond, but the fact that they do means they have heart for the game and others. That Ford Raptor turned out pretty sick! If I had the cash, I’d definitely place a bid for it when it goes up for auction.

BOOK BY CADILLAC Cadillac is launching its new luxury vehicle subscription model Book by Cadillac that lets members switch off between different Cadillac models to best suit their needs. For $1,500/ month, members can order up different models via an app on their smartphone - all without having to lease, finance or buy an actual vehicle. The new program is targeted at the growing number of luxury drivers who want a vehicle based on their own individual needs. The cars will be delivered via a whiteglove concierge to their requested location and exchanged at their leisure when their needs change. All maintenance, insurance and detailing of the actual vehicle will be handled by Cadillac, freeing members from any obligations that comes with traditional vehicle ownership. It’ll first be tested out in the NYC metro area before it debuts in other markets.
FORD GT ORDERING KIT Those lucky enough to order a supercar know that it’s a pretty special experience, and Ford is making it even more special with their GT Ordering Kit. Approved clients will receive a kit that lets them piece together all sorts of customizable aspects of their car to make sure it reflects their personal style. This includes 8 different color samples (complete with removable stripes), interior swatches with pieces of Alcantara you’d find in the actual car and scaled-down replica wheels that feature different colored calipers. The complete package arrives in a carbon fiber case that has a latch the same as the one on the GT race car, with a spot to mount its replica VIN plate that comes with the supercar.
LAND ROVER PROJECT HERO Land Rover has built a vital emergency response vehicle in collaboration with the Austrian Red Cross that’s based on the 3.0-liter TD6 of the new Discovery. The Land Rover Project Hero features a roof-mounted drone that provides live footage to teams on the ground and uses a world-first self-centering and magnetic retention system to allow the drone to land safely even while in motion. The Land Rover also features various communication systems, power supply points, auxiliary LED lighting and more so that it can work properly in an emergency situation. Currently, it will be shared between training centers in Vienna and Erzberg for the next few months. 26

TURNING PURPLE OVER TIME IS A SIGN OF POOR QUALITY FILM

So what’s turning the window film purple? Simple - the theory of primary colors and the color spectrum. So in grade school, you probably learned that there are three primary colors - red, blue and yellow - with all other colors on the spectrum made from some sort of combination of these colors. A complete absence of any primary color will give you absolute white, 30

and a combination of equal parts all three primary colors will give you absolute black. As you can see in the picture, purple is primarily a combination of the red and blue primary colors. Since all colors are derived from a mixture of the three primary colors, any window tint has its color derived from a mixture of these three primary colored dyes. While all three of the primary colors are susceptible to fading from the sun, yellow typically will fade at a faster rate than blue or red. Can you guess what happens next? As the film is exposed to the sun and the yellow dyes fade out at a faster rate than the other primary colors, the mixture of the colors becomes primarily red and blue. When this occurs, the film begins looking more purple, as you would expect from a mixture of primarily red and blue. So, what are your options if you want your vehicle to look good without worrying about your tint turning purple in a few years?
You should ask the window tint shop specifically for a premium window film like DUB IR. ave you ever wondered why some window tints turn purple over time? Unfortunately, it’s a question many have found themselves asking a few months after they’ve taken their car in for a tint job. We’re here to set the record straight on this issue - it’s not desirable or something you should experience from a quality tint install. A purple looking tint means entry-level tint products were used. Unlike higher quality films, these sorts of basic tint products are created from dyed polyester. he popularity and the influence of The Fast and the Furious franchise doesn’t seem to be letting up. Fans can’t get enough of the action sequences, killer four-wheel eye candy and memorable characters they’ve come to love since the original dropped back in 2001. Now we’re here, 17 years later on movie No. 8 - The Fate of the Furious. To date, it’s Universal’s biggest franchise of all time and the ninth and tenth installments will soon follow. But for now, we’re excited for all the action we’ve come to love with the highly anticipated The Fate of the Furious and we were lucky to catch up with a few of the beloved and original stars.

After the intensity and success of Furious 7, tell us about your thoughts on doing The Fate of the Furious? Very heavy thoughts obviously. Just the very first thought of committing to the next trilogy was a heavy one for me. I only wanted to continue the saga if we were going to all collectively try to make the best final trilogy.

What did you think about Dom going rogue? A couple things...one is we had been talking about going dark, this was going a step beyond that and now betraying the family. So you, you can go dark, but going dark and actually being on the opposite side of your family members is another level; that was very scary. And at the same time, if I was just by myself and I was just thinking, then how can you justify another chapter, after potentially the best and most powerful ending in cinematic history. One could argue that Furious 7 had the best ending in cinematic history. You have so many awesome action sequences, what can you tell us about the ones in this film? The first thing for me is the location. The Cuban mile race is dynamic, it’s entertaining it’s nothing like we’ve seen in the past. But then we go to New York City, which was another dream of mine.

What did you think of the rides Dom had in this one? These cars are pretty spectacular, Dom’s Ice Charger is pretty spectacular. I mean, I’m just so grateful for everything that Dodge has done for our franchise. My daughter’s favorite car is really a ’69 Dodge Daytona and she’s not even two years old yet. Do you have a couple of favorite moments from all the films? I have so many favorites, so that’s a little harder for me because it’s like they’re all my children so it’s like trying to pick a favorite. My favorite moments are usually moments when we see our characters bond, so many of my favorite moments are between Dom and Brian, especially when they were on a balcony in Fast Five talking about Mia and fatherhood. LETTY ‘ORTIZ’ TORETTO What was your favorite scene in the first The Fast and the Furious? Race Wars was my favorite moment in that very first film because you would get to set every day and it was full of a bunch of car connoisseurs, and walking around just in between shots you were never bored. You could sit there and have a 10 hour conversation with anybody about cars. And everybody was just dying to show their wares. So I think it was the most fun. And plus, they were having real races on the side. I like that. I like it, um, when there’s activity. When there’s, you know, community. And you got the sense of that in the first one. It’s also, I think, what Paul really loved about it. He was always talking about like that world and how, attractive it is. You know, it’s a lifestyle. It really is. And I think that in Race Wars, in the first franchise film, you got to see that.

What can we expect for Letty is this movie? I’m either at the tail end of a gun or I’m in a car that’s flipping. [LAUGHS] I’m always gettin’ nailed by something in this one. What was the auto yard in New York like? It’s like a gear head’s dream come true. I mean they just posted footage of us walking in and looking at all the cars and it got like half a million views. It’s insane. People really do love cars. That place was a candy store.
As with all the rest of The Fast and the Furious movies, there are tons of action sequences with loads of cars... Yeah. I finally get one car I like. [LAUGHS] I got a Corvette. That was one of my first things with director, F. Gary Gray. I was like, please, hook me up with something beautiful for once. ’Cause usually, you know, I’m like the last pick of the litter ’cause I’m the girl. So, and I’m so focused on the acting and v the lines and on the integrity of the characters I never really have had time to go into the garage like Paul did, or like Vin does. It’s like get in there and play. And really blend the character in with your vehicles. ’Cause they’re an extension of yourself, and every single time I’ve been stuck with an extension that isn’t really me. [LAUGHS] Not Letty me. You know what I mean. Like I feel like as Letty evolves, the cars should as well. And I felt like there was kind of like a death to that evolution. It just stayed a flat line for a very long time and finally we got some color in there. So I’m very grateful for that. 60

TEJ PARKER There have been so many cars in the series - which one was your favorite and why? The Ford GT in Fast Five that I think Jordana was driving in the train scene was my favorite car. That car is American muscle! How about a car that was on set that you weren’t able to drive? That would definitely be the Koenigsegg at the end of Fast & Furious 6. The cast has become like family over the years. Which cast member are you closest with and why? Apart from Tyrese being my brother from another mother, I felt I was closest with Paul Walker. Our birthdays were one day apart and we shared a lot of the same interests in life. There have been so many dynamic stunts in the franchise but which one was the craziest to do? What was it like doing it? What about the stunt that scared you most? I’ve been studying a form of martial arts called 52 Blocks and it was an honor for me to be able to implement that in my fight scene in Fast 7. It felt natural because I had been studying this for a while. The stunt that scared me the most was when we were on the simulators being jerked like we were on roller coasters to try to emulate the movements to look like we were actually driving. With machines you never know what the fuck could happen.

When you first signed on for the series, did you ever think it would be this popular and have these many installments? Absolutely not! I don’t think anyone could have predicted it would be this huge. Which character do you most identify with and why? I mostly identify with my character Tej because he is like the thread that holds everyone in his life together. Which character would you most likely hang with and why? Tyrese’s character because I love to laugh and he makes me laugh all the time. And I actually do hang with him. What’s your favorite plot point of the series and why? The Fate of the Furious has the best plot point because nobody ever expected Dom to go rogue on us. The Fast and the Furious franchise has been hugely successful. Did you ever think you’d have such a pivotal role when you were first cast in 2 Fast 2 Furious? No, and I am just very blessed to be part of such history. I can’t take the credit for the
success, but everyone plays their part to the tee and because of that this franchise is so successful. The Fast and the Furious was one of your first acting gigs. How have you evolved as an actor and how has the franchise helped you become the actor you are today? Since these films come out on such a consistent basis, it allows all of us to continuously sharpen up our skills. Outside of The Fast and the Furious franchise, I think I’ve evolved as an actor because I try to take on roles that are completely opposite of my character, Tej. What were some of your most satisfying scenes to shoot for the franchise? The most satisfying scene to shoot was the final scene in Fast 7 where we really got to pay homage to our brother Paul Walker. Is your rapport with Tyrese’s character scripted or is it improvised? [LAUGHS] A little of both!

ROMAN PEARCE There’s been so many cars in the series, but which one was your favorite and why? I would say I loved the blue and grey Skyline that Paul Walker drove in 2 Fast 2 Furious because the steering wheel was on the right side and I also really loved the Lamborghini that I’m driving in The Fate of the Furious. The cast has become like family over the years, but which cast member is your favorite and why? I love Vin because I just see him more often and talk and communicate with him more often than anyone else. But I’ve known my brother Ludacris longer. So many stunts in these action-packed flicks, but which one was the craziest to do? What was it like doing it? What about the stunt that scared you most? I would say in Fast & Furious 6, when I had to jump off of one car and land on the roof of the other car with Paul, that was probably my most dangerous stunt. That was pretty crazy. We couldn’t do too many because it was too dangerous and took too much time to prep and start over.
When you first signed on for the series, did you ever think it would be this popular and have these many installments? No, not at all. I mean that’s not even a question. None of us believed that things would go this far. It’s been more than 17 years for The Fast and the Furious and it keeps getting bigger, better and crazier. We’re all very humbled by it and, one would hope to do a movie and be able to feed their families this long off of one franchise. If we didn’t have The Fast and the Furious, we’d all be winging it from one project to the next. What’s your favorite plot point of the series and why? I would say Fast Five because Dwayne Johnson came on board and we were able to broaden the fan base and get more folks excited about seeing those two fight.

Where does The Fast and the Furious rank in terms of all the movies you’ve starred in? I would say No.1 and Transformers No.2, Baby Boy No. 3 How long will you continue to reprise your character? I’ll do as many as I can because as long as they keep calling and I’m able to do my thing, I’ll do it. Has The Fast and the Furious inspired your automotive style outside of the movies? I’ve always been a fast driver, but I now feel like I have more skills now. Tell us about Voltron Motors and these custom Jeeps you are selling. Quick story: I’d seen these two Jeeps on the set of The Fate of the Furious and was like, “What’s that?!” I wanted to buy one of the two that really blew me away, so I got hold of company that built the Jeeps and they
were by some guy Will Williams of High Born in Houston. I reached out to him and it turns out he didn’t own them, just designed and built them. He then called the owners and they told him no. Vin actually was interested in the other one and they still told us no. I ended up designing my own Jeep with him and I was so in love with it since it came out so sick that I asked him if he wanted to partner up with me. Once I put it on my social media feeds, I knew he’d have people calling him and ordering Jeeps; I didn’t want to be sitting on the sidelines. How did you first get started in the business? I first started by building an off-road school bus for the movie Dragon Fly. It was needed for a camera-point-of-view shot when a bus drove off a cliff. This led to Bruce Almighty, Meet the Fockers, and soon afterwards, Tokyo Drift. Where did/do you get all your car knowledge from? Bikes, skateboards, go-karts, motorcycles, cars, etc., have been my passion since the age of five. Basically, anything with wheels that went fast. I’ve been working in the car business since I was 14. My early employment included: Glendale Speed Center, Thompson Dyno Tune, and I opened up McCarthy Performance when I was 20. How did you go about sourcing the cars for the franchise? Just like anyone else would, Craigslist, eBay, internet searches, word of mouth, etc.

What’s the hardest car you ever had to get? The Ford Escort from Fast & Furious 6; I ended up sourcing all in the UK. What about your favorite car in the franchise and why? Would have to say Dom’s all-wheel drive Charger from The Fate of the Furious. How would you say the cars chosen for the movies help drive the plot lines and characters? The cars are chosen based on the plot and character, but the vehicles do influence dialogue. Is there a car that you wished you would have sourced for the The Fast and the Furious franchise? I’ve been lucky enough to feature most of my favorites. In an effort to change things up, I would like to see an AMC Javelin with styling cues from the ’70s Trans Am series. Another
desire would be a Lamborghini Miura for Shaw [Jason Stratman’s character]. How does the The Fast and the Furious franchise stack up against other jobs/ movies? There’s nothing more challenging than a Fast and Furious film. Do you have any tidbits you can tell us for each of the cars we are featuring: • Ice Charger - Wicked fast, all-wheel drive, ultimate Dom car for the ice • GTX - Ridiculous horsepower, tremendous effort went into getting the stance and tire size perfect • Dom’s Chevy in Cuba - Love this car, one of my favorite early body styles, fits for Dom in Cuba • Letty’s Vette - F. Gary Gray pick, another one of my all-time favorites • Tej’s Ripsaw (Tank) - Far too cool to not have in the film

A
Ferrari 458 is luxury at its finest. This sports car is beautiful on its own, but shops, customizers and tuners see the exotic as a starting point for something epic. Such was the case for LUX Motorwerks in Keyport, NJ, who had a customer come in with his 458 for some basic repairs, which was when CEO Stephen Stasiulewicz knew it could be so much more. “The client asked us to replace his front bumper,” Stephen explains. “During this time, I spoke to him and recommended that we do a full transformation of the vehicle, including a Prior-Design body kit, exhaust, wheel upgrade, suspension, and an audio system.” Turns out, the client really wanted something that would stand out and felt comfortable leaving his Ferrari in the hands of Stephen and his shop. “Being that he was a previous client of LUX, he gave us 100% of his trust.”

When choosing modifications for cars that come into his shop, Stephen and his crew always work with the customer by showing them what their vehicle has the potential of becoming and offer their suggestions. But for this particular Ferrari makeover, using a PriorDesign kit was a no brainer for Stephen. “I

have worked with Prior-Design before and I really liked their design for the 458 out of all the other widebody suppliers for this vehicle,” he admits “Their kit adds a nice clean touch to the 458 that doesn’t make the vehicle appear too overdone. It added to the overall appeal and aesthetics of the Ferrari.” Another favored
addition by Stephen were the AlphaOne Wheels, which were a custom-made, one-off wheel in a brushed translucent gold by Joe Labon from Ultimate Auto in Orlando. “We were looking at several wheel designs and in the end I felt the design we came up with suited the car perfectly,” he adds.

Aside from the Prior-Design bodykit and Alpha One wheels, a NOVITEC performance suspension system allows it to lay low for an even more aggressive stance, while an Armytrix performance exhaust boosts power and provides a menacing growl. Inside, carbon fiber accents and trim were added, as well as a complete audio upgrade with a Pioneer’s top of the line AVIC8200NEX receiver, Morel Elate speakers, four JL Audio 6.5 inch subwoofers and Alpine amplifier. T
he Miz wants to take over the world. And no, not just the reality show world he conquered years ago. Or the world of sports entertainment, where he has won WWE Championships and been featured in WWE’s biggest events, including pop-culture extravaganza WrestleMania. He wants to take over Hollywood as well, not unlike another WWE Superstar, whose moniker also starts with “The.” “I want it all,” The Miz says. “I want to do movies, TV, host, reality shows, everything!” As a kid growing up in Parma, Ohio watching pro wrestling with his childhood friends, he had no idea he would one day be one of the WWE’s top stars. Once he achieved the goal of becoming a headlining WWE Superstar, The Miz moved to L.A. to take his dreams to Hollywood. And he needed a car that fit both his bad guy persona and his own personal tastes. His black-on-black 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited not only fits his flashy new surroundings perfectly, but also looks the part of a big-time villain’s car. Always a connoisseur of imposing, powerful vehicles, The Miz once owned a Hummer H2. “It used to be my favorite car of all-time, but it was too big for the Hollywood streets.” So he went on 80

So, he wanted a car with the same attitude and toughness his old H2 had, but he needed it to be quicker and more agile. “My buddy bought a Jeep Wrangler. It was lifted, it had wheels, and as soon as he took me for a ride in it, I thought, ‘You know what, I need to get one.’” He wanted his Jeep to stand out, even in
an L.A. crowd, so he quickly brought the Jeep in to DUB for its transformation into a ride that befits the slick, tailored-suit wearing WWE villain fans see on SmackDown Live every Tuesday night on USA Network. From the gloss black 22” TIS Wheels wrapped in Nitto Trail Grappler tires to the matte-black Road Armor front bumper capable of clotheslining other cars out of the way in gridlock traffic, the Jeep fits him to a T. “I bought it from Orange Coast Jeep and drove straight to drop it off with Myles [ Kovacs] at DUB to let them do their thing. When I picked it up a few weeks later I was blown away! It was way beyond what I expected, and I love everything that was done to it.” Now an L.A. native, he’s growing his collection of head-turning rides, but still stays true to his Ohio roots, hand washing and detailing his Jeep and R8 himself just like how he used to help wash his dad’s classic Corvette back in the day as we witnessed right before the photoshoot. The Miz got his first taste of the limelight while starring on MTV’s pioneering reality show, “The Real World.” On a whim during college, he tried out to be a part of its cast of twenty-something strangers who would live in a house together while being filmed 24/7. “It kind of made me believe I could do anything I wanted with my life. 60,000 people tried out (for 7 spots). And out of all of them, I got one.” It was while filming his first season that he invented the persona that would one
day propel him to WWE stardom. Initially, he used the character to break the tension between the roommates. “If Mike couldn’t say something to the roommates, The Miz would,” he remembers. “They only showed me doing the character in like two episodes, but after the season ended, when I would go out, people would start calling me ‘The Miz.’”

His big break came when the WWE got into the reality show business with its “Tough Enough” series. An “Ultimate Warrior” fan from childhood who still loved watching wrestling during his college years, The Miz tried out to be the next big WWE prospect. Although he was not chosen as his season’s winner, he still caught the company’s eye with his outsized personality, which included an element of humor many bad guy wrestlers lacked. “I’m only 6’1” and at the time could not get heavier than 195 lbs., no matter how much I ate or how hard I worked out. I knew I could never be the biggest guy out there, so I tried to be the biggest character.” Eventually, The Miz was signed by WWE and they put him in spots where he could use his skills on the mic as host of the WWE’s “Divas” reality show, where he would meet his future real-life wife and on-screen manager, Maryse Ouellet. When they first met on the “Divas” show, he recounts, she hardly spoke any English. The Canada native would do her interviews in French, prompting The Miz to think, “I don’t know what you’re saying, but this is the sexiest thing ever.”

As The Miz worked his way up the WWE ladder over the past decade, he has won multiple championships, from the WWE Tag Team Championship all the way to the coveted WWE Championship, when he beat this generation’s most famous good guy WWE Superstar, John Cena. But of all these in-ring accomplishments, it was a small moment only his closest friends may have even noticed that will always be special to him. “The coolest moment about being in that ring in the main event at WrestleMania wasn’t my entrance. It wasn’t even holding the title in my hand. I don’t really remember that. The coolest moment was looking over to my left and seeing all my friends from high school that were in my living room in 1999 watching WrestleMania. Looking over at them in the front row and saying, ‘We did it.’”

With a desire to truly demonstrate the depth of the Jeep aftermarket and a mission to enhance the Jeep platform, J.J. knew he needed to seek out the best of the best when it came down to choosing parts. “I have learned all too often in my medical career and through my automotive passion that you must go after the best whenever possible,” he explains. “I worked through choosing products using my own experiences, respected automotive contacts, and internet research to compile the list of products I wanted to use.”

J.J. knew right off the bat that it had to feature a pre-runner-style look with a Fabtech 5” long-arm coilover suspension. To give it the power he was used to, a RIPP Supercharger was installed. VPR bumpers, Smittybilt XRC fenders and accessories provide it with its stealthy look, while 22” Dropstars wheels and Nitto Ridge Grapplers finish the footing. He chose Rigid Industries lighting to help with any low light off roading situations he may come across. “The response has been absolutely overwhelming,” he details. “ I love how it runs and I love the overall stance! Folks really seem to love the build and the smiles and jaw-drops I get from the little ones are awesome!” In fact, his kids love going for Slurpees in it with Dad, with J.J. adding the JK is already a true member of his family. “I really love each build I do. They are almost like children to me! You don’t love one more than another, but you sure love each kid for their different traits!” Besides being a daily driver, J.J. will be hitting a bunch of shows this year, showcasing his F7LTHY Jeep, while he starts to work on his next build - a 2017 Acura NSX with the full Liberty Walk treatment. ryan Lin of The Motorsports Authority in Conway, AR understands the complicated process that comes with building a custom ride. His past builds included everything from street cars to trucks, but this was Lin’s first serious Jeep build - something he’s been wanting to tackle since a teenager. “Since I was 16, I’ve always wanted a Jeep,” he says. “And with the popularity of customizing Jeeps, I knew it would be a challenge to design and build one that was different. Like all my builds, the vehicle had to look good, yet be capable for everyday use. Since it’s a Jeep, it also had to be very capable when off-road.”
Lin had originally decided that this build was going to be a bit more of a laid back, daily driven style project, but that quickly changed when it was asked to be the featured vehicle at SEMA for BedRug. “The build that started out simple was now being re-designed and taken to a SEMA level,” Lin adds. The platform is a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Sahara JK in Hydro Blue, with Lin nicknaming it Project Azrael after the Angel of Death. “It originally was called Project Azul, but some people felt that it was kind of plain. The Archangel’s responsibility is to assist those who are making the transition from physical life to spirit life, ensuring that the transition process is effortless. Azrael is tough; not a bringer of death, but a comforter in dark times, which Jeep owners know. Driving a Jeep can bring a sense of happiness.” What solidified his quest in finding the right name was the fact that Azrael’s listed as a Blue Blood Angel [in the Blue Bloods book series].

With a history working with several companies, Lin already knew what brands he wanted for the build. Aside from the BedRug products for the cab floor and their BedTred for the trunk/rear door, Lin went with the Fab Four’s Grumper since it was made to fit a Warn winch as well as their fender system. The suspension on the Sahara is a powder coated ReadyLift Super Flex suspension with Fox shocks which was paired with XD Series RS3 wheels with colormatched blue accents and Toyo Open Country M/Ts to set off its stance. The color is continued throughout the interior using Roadwire baby blue double diamond stitch with dark gray and suede for the leather seats. To finish out the open feel of a Jeep, Lin added Rugged Ridge tube doors and other Rugged Ridge accessories. Sony made sure the Jeep rocked and Rigid Industries made sure the trails stayed lit.
“I love it,” Lin says. “It was fun to design. The build was definitely easier than previous builds, which to me was a success. Part of the stresses from previous SEMA Show builds were the delay of products, but this year they all arrived early or on time. There were no late nights or weekends and products fit without major modifications or changes. Typically, builds would have many components still laid out on the floor before D-Day.” For the most part, responses have been great on the result, however, Lin does admit that The Grumper seems to be a love it or hate it product. Since Azrael was built for show and trails, Lin is looking forward to testing its capabilities during the annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab. 110

Guests got the VIP experience with a special red carpet entrance and special stepand-repeat for pictures. There was amazing food from Anepalco Restaurant, Grill Fellas and Lobsterdamus, while guests sipped on speciality drinks from their sponsors Lagunitas Brewing Company, Los Javis Mezcal, Coldcock Whiskey, Rockstar Energy and Goldlok Vodka. The night’s soundtrack was provided by DJ Duffle Bag Divas and DJ E-Man from Power 106, while Eric Bellinger performed live on stage.
