ockford Fosgate’s VP Product Development and Engineering Jake Braaten’s 2016 RZR XP 4 Turbo EPS, affectionately called the “Dirt Lab,” began in a fury with only three months to build a new test vehicle that would aid in the development of future Rockford Fosgate SXS products. Scheduled to debut at the 2016 CES Show in Las Vegas, NV, Braaten and his crew had to scramble to get it all done on time. Braaten partnered with award-winning TMW Offroad to begin the customization process to have a show-worthy

vehicle that would be used at consumer events, while also testing new products. A custom roll cage, suicide doors, front and rear bumpers and integrated roof were commissioned and finished with a custom powder coat in Royal Ten blue. With all of the safety and convenience factors in place, Braaten moved on to a full Rigid Industries high-power lighting system, which were meant to light up the night sky and undercarriage with the addition the company’s roof, bumper, headlight, reverse, interior and blue accent rock lighting. Interior

switches and wiring from XTC Power Products allowed for easy installation, as well as a streetlegal turn signal and horn kit in case it needed to be driven on main roads. A set of 15” Method Racing wheels and Tensor tires were chosen for the overall performance enhancement and grip. An additional set of Method wheels and paddle tires handle sand dune duties, too. All performance mods for the Turbo came from an HCT tuning Stage 3 kit and Trinity racing exhaust, while the upgraded seats and billet accessories came from Triple X performance, Billet Equipped

and Axia alloys. But the look wasn’t complete without contacting Wolf Designs to come up with an appropriate carbon fiber theme to wrap the Dirt Lab, which covers the entire exterior, as well as the interior doors and custom roof. With the performance and looks of the RZR complete it was time to make it loud. Braaten chose to use the recently developed Rockford Fosgate RZR kit mounting solutions in Rockford’s Powersports line. A combination

of eight midranges and tweeters in custom designed enclosures, as well as integrated wiring harnesses and amplifier mounting plates, make the installation as simple as it gets. The vehicle even has three distinct rear speaker options from rear motorsports enclosures that mount to the roll cage, a modified storage box with integrated speakers or a show-ready ported enclosure with dual 8” horn speakers. A 10” high-output Power Series T1S subwoofer was chosen to fill out the

All amplification was assigned to two of the compact Power Series T400X4AD amplifier and a T750x1bd amplifier that deliver a total of around 1,500W. All music plays through one of Rockford’s powersportsspecific, element-ready source units called the PMX-2 and integrated dash kit solution that handles Bluetooth and iPhone control with ease and has a bright color display.

Long gone are the days of Toyota mini-trucks, and in their place are 2 worthy replacements in the Tacoma and Tundra. Both continue to push the limits with new technology for midsize and full-size trucks (respectively). Both have some of the best resale value of any trucks on the road. Both use a coil-over strut independent front suspension. But only one of them is offered with a V8 under the hood, the Tundra. While the late model Tundras are capable trucks from the factory, if you’re anything like us you can’t just leave well enough alone.

1 BDS has built a solid reputation within the Toyota community and this kit is one of the reasons. Included in the 7’’ kit are high clearance crossmembers, diff support brackets, beefy cast iron steering knuckles, extended swaybar links, cam bolts, heavy duty tie rod ends and lower strut extensions (also available with FOX 2.5 remote coilovers), rear block and u-bolt kit, brake line brackets and your choice of 5500-series or FOX 2.0 shocks.

3 Installed, the 7’’ high clearance kit is designed to maximize ground clearance while correcting suspension geometry. It integrates a full width one-piece belly skid for extra offroad protection and added rigidity to the subframe design. The kit is designed to allow up to 37’’ tires to be installed when following BDS’s wheel recommendations, for this built we stuck to 35x12.50 Atturo M/Ts on 20x9 Fuel Assaults.

BDS offers the 7’’ kit with lower strut extensions as well as precision tuned FOX 2.5 remote reservoir coilovers. The lower strut extensions retain stock dampening for OE ride quality. The steering knuckles on the 7’’ system are a huge upgrade to the stock units. The ductile iron castings are machined down for a perfect fit to accept the hub assemblies and work with stock or aftermarket control arms. Together with the new tie rod ends, the suspension and steering geometry is compatible with the factory ESC system to keep you safe on the road.

hose who love Jeeps and trucks no longer have to choose between the two styles of vehicles. Upfitters or customizers like Ray Wang of Traversing Offroad USA are building rigs with the best of both (Jeep and truck) worlds! With more than 10 years of experience building off-road vehicles – first in China where it’s rarely seen and now in the U.S.A. – Wang started to create his unique builds back in 2001 after first trying his hand at his own Jeep Cherokee. To help advertise his company and create a trail-worthy ride, Ray sought out to build “The Green Iguana,” which is the perfect example of how to turn a Jeep into a truck, using a basic 2014 Jeep Wrangler Sport.

Modifying everything except the chassis, Wang and his crew wanted both performance and appearance to equally describe his build. “We created a blueprint of everything after discussions with parts manufacturers since it’s important to make sure that all parts selected will work together to achieve the best performance and give the Green Iguana the best look possible,” he describes. To give it a trucklike appearance, a Teraflex Action Truck JK Truck Conversion kit does the job. Because suspension would play a huge part on how it performed on the trails, a Teraflex 6” Elite LCG Long FlexArm Lift kit and HD44 front and CRD60 rear axles with E-locker, as well as Fox 2.5 Factory Series bypass reservoir shocks, were chosen for its long travel ability. Other Teraflex products include a Rock Slider kit, HD Hinged Carrier & Adjustable Spare Tire Mounting Kit and HD Tie Rod & Flipped Drag Link kit. 53

They needed more power to be able to handle any terrain it met and Ray knew that the stock 3.6L engine wouldn’t live up to his expectations. “We did a Dakota Customs Hemi Engine Swap with 500 hp to give Green Iguana the power for extreme off-road,” Wang details. A Borla exhaust system provides additional horsepower and a menacing growl when you rev the Hemi.

A Poison Spyder Brawler mid front bumper, RockBrawler rear bumper and aluminum fender flares combine to give it a brawny look, while the newly released STRUT Jeep Wrangler grille defines it. BAJA Designs Stealth 20” and 50” LED light bars and Squadron Pro LED Driving/Combo easily illuminate dark trails and night off-road runs. Wang has tested out his Green Iguana at favorite off-road spots like the Rubicon Trail and Moab, which established that it’s “an off-road monster,” he adds. Wang now plans on using his Green Iguana Jeep/truck conversion as a marketing tool for his company, both here and in China, as he already sets his eyes on his shop’s next big rig!

ike Horrell of Ultimate Mobile Wheel & Tire in Scottsdale, AZ, knows a good product when he sees one, which is why he laced his latest Jeep creation with a set of new GRID Off-Road wheels. As a newcomer to the off-road wheels and accessory market, GRID Off-Road revealed their line of cast and forged wheels at last year’s SEMA Show, and Horrell was one of the first builders to showcase them on one of his Jeeps. Ultimate Mobile Wheel & Tire has years of experience working on Jeeps and has a vast knowledge of what looks good when it comes to

off-road customs. “The initial design of the Jeep came from a JK I had built earlier in 2015 and we just took it to the extreme for SEMA since this was our first vehicle we ever built for the show,” mentions Mike Horrell, owner of the shop. And when it came down to choosing the products for their “extreme” Jeep, Horrell and his crew worked closely with the GRID Off-Road team to choose the best mods that would turn their vision into reality. Horrell decided on a silver and red colorway for the Jeep and set it up with a massive set of 24x15 GRID Off-Road GF9 wheels in a brushed finish, which was paired with an equally massive

set of 40x15.50R24 Toyo Open Country M/T tires. In addition to the wheels, a pair of their new LED side steps and their grille with integrated LED lights were also installed. A Bulletproof Suspensions 6” lift with FOX coilover shocks and a Bulletproof Suspensions dual shock steering stabilizer was fitted to accommodate the new wheel and tire setup and provides the proper travel for its off-road runs. Horrell also installed the VPR Ultima short front bumper with a Smittybilt 9500 lbs. winch and their rear bumper with tire carrier, Bushwacker Flat Style Fender Flares (which was coated in

LINE-X, along with the roof) and Body Armor soft doors. AVEC CR Series Cree LED lights, including 50” and 20” LED light bars and five 4” LED light cubes were also added. The red theme carries over with the red leather interior, while a Pioneer head unit with backup camera rounds out the interior mods. Although it hasn’t been tested off-road, it can still handle any terrain it sees. Currently, the Jeep is for sale at Scottsdale Ferrari, where Horrell and shop co-owner Cataldo usually sells many of their customs.

hulio Tadeo of Miami’s MC Customs has been seeing more and more customer requests for upfitted Jeeps. His latest creations are a set of customized JKUs for two of his more well-known clients – MLB ace pitchers Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners and Yordano Ventura of the Kansas City Royals.

FELIX HERNANDEZ FOR FELIX HERNANDEZ’S JEEP, Tadeo went with a black with red accents color scheme and dressed it to the nines for Hernandez’s wife. As a gift for his significant other, he requested that Tadeo focus on the engine and music and requested the color combo, as well as a bit of personalization, which is why it displays her SMH initials everywhere. A regular to MC Customs, Hernandez trusts Tadeo and his team completely, giving him free reign on the look of all his rides. And although it’s a gift for his wife, Tadeo mentions that Hernandez is often seen driving the Jeep in the MIA. This Jeep was originally done two years ago, but it came back to MC Customs for a Hemi replacement and a 4” lift, in addition to other small mods. “It took about 90 days to finish because of the engine upgrade and intricate details on the undercarriage,” Tadeo explains, adding that his top mods are the engine and Smittybuilt Body Armor kit. “He loved it! He loves when I do my thing with his whips!”

YORDANO VENTURA WHEN YORDANO VENTURA signed a new 5-year contract with the Royals before the 2015 season began, he went out and treated himself to a new Jeep JK. Not too long after, he and his Kansas City Royals went on to win the 2015 World Series. To represent for his team, Ventura asked Tadeo for a blue and white color scheme, in addition to a massive sound system and custom logos so that everyone knew whose Jeep it was when he drove it in his hometown in the Dominican Republic. Also a long time customer of MC Customs, he

let Tadeo and the team work their magic on the rest. “I loved the timing of Ventura’s build,” Tadeo admits. “KC white and blue then wins the World Series…It was like a good luck charm. I believe in that kind of stuff.” Amazed at the end result, Ventura will definitely be back for more builds, according to Tadeo. “These Jeep builds are getting easier, but we like to build them differently and always incorporate new products,” he mentions. “They get easier because now we’re more familiar with the Jeep platform and the various companies who make parts for them. But as new products come to market, it complicates things a little bit because you then have to learn the product and its capabilities.” 80

rianny Celeste is a model, cover girl and fitness fan, perhaps best known as an Octagon Girl for the UFC, and co-host of TV’s Overhaulin’ with Chip Foose. For the 2015 SEMA Show, in Las Vegas, Celeste also worked with LFTD& LVLD, OmixADA/Rugged Ridge in designing a custom built 4-door Jeep JK, built by the DUB Garage and outfitted with some of the freshest accessories Rugged Ridge offers, built for the benefit of SEMA Cares. “SEMA Cares does so much to help ensure the continued success and growth of our industry

by actively engaging the future generation of enthusiasts and industry professionals,” Henk Van Dongen, Omix-ADA marketing director, says. “We couldn’t be happier to support this committee that gives back not only to the industry, but also to the community.” One of the most important modifications made to the JK was installing better brakes. Rick Elam, at Baer Brakes, manufacturer of highperformance brake systems, made in the U.S.A., supplied a 2007-2015 Jeep JK system. Everything needed to make the installation quick and simple is included. The 6P front brakes

include a 13.5” one-piece slotted and drilled, zincplated rotor and a six-piston caliper with Corvette C5/C6 pads. The S4 rear brake system maintains the factory parking brake and comes with a fourpiston caliper and a 12.2” one-piece slotted and drilled rotor. We followed Ramses Sanchez, owner of Hot Spot Fab, as he did the job. A floor jack and jack stands are required. Be sure to read all of the instructions included with the kit before attempting the installation.

The jack stand is placed in a suitable position on the driverâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s side and padded to prevent damage to the paint finish. Another jack stand is then placed under the passengerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s side in the same manner.

The stock caliper and rotor are removed next.

With the tire and wheel removed the brake line is unbolted and the line placed in a plastic bottle to minimize mess. Be sure to have plenty of rags on hand to clean up any spills.

Baer supplies a new center ring that is mounted to the hub next.

The mounting bracket for the new caliper is installed and the bolts torqued to 120 ft. lb.

The new rotor is then positioned and one lug nut put on to keep the rotor in position. The caliper is then bolted in place on the mounting bracket.

The new Baer Pro 6P front brake system looks great and will deliver considerably improved braking.

Attach the stock brake line to the caliper using the new bolt and washer supplied. Repeat these steps on the passenger side.

Moving to the rear, the jack stand is positioned, the brake line put in a bottle and the brake drum is pried off.

Amp�Kits to�RCAs After cutting a section of the dust shield off with a grinder for clearance of the new caliper, the new bracket is installed and torqued to 85 ft. lb.

Cables for�your Demands The new rotor is positioned and a lug nut fastened and the new Baer caliper is positioned on the bracket and bolted in place to 75 ft. lb. Finally, the brake line is reattached. The steps are then repeated on the rear passenger side.

build is just a build for many, but for Charles Otwell, his 2011 Ford F-350 is so much more. As his most special build to date, this particular one was created in memory of his late brother, Billy Ray, and adequately named “The Guardian.” “With this build being a memorial to my brother, I wanted something a little different than the rest,” he describes. “My brother was a very unique individual, therefore his build needed to be equally as unique. I have always felt his presence in my life. He is my ‘guardian’ angel.” Thanks to Otwell’s interest in not only offroad rides, but in custom vehicles in general (he’s owned everything from high-end sports cars to large off-road rigs and everything in between), he knew the work and dedication needed to create his memorial rig, as well as the originality it needed to stand out when he unveiled it at the 2015 SEMA Show. “I think a true custom automotive enthusiast should respect and appreciate the work that an individual puts into bringing their personal vision to life,” explains Otwell about his motto for building vehicles. According to Otwell, it was his big brother’s dream to build a truck that would one day grace the cover of a magazine. In fact, his passion for custom trucks came from his late brother, who was “a true custom automotive enthusiast.” “Every month we would go to the 7-11 store in our home town of Jena, Louisiana, on the exact day that the latest edition landed on the magazine rack,” he describes. “He would sit in his room for hours and read about every truck in the book. He would yell at me every few minutes to come see what he had found in the pages. After a while I would just sit and read them with him. He would get so mad at me for bending the pages, which I thought was funny because we were going to cut them out later anyway. He would make me sit up at nights and help him carefully cut out the pictures and post them on his bedroom wall.”

At the time, his brother and dad were building a 1991 Ford Ranger, but all that changed on the morning of May 5, 1994, when he was killed as a passenger in a drunk driving accident at 21, with Otwell (17 at the time) also a passenger in the vehicle. And ever since then, Otwell made it his goal to create a cover-worthy truck that would fulfill his late brother’s dream and give him closure. Since Billy Ray always drove Fords, Otwell knew it had to be the base vehicle, and after 21 years in the making, enlisted the help of Innovative Autoworks. Innovative Autoworks worked with Keg Media to get a rendering done for the overall concept, and although Otwell asked for a show truck to honor the memory of his brother, the shop had a different plan for him. 113

“TJ Gefert and Brett Habig from Innovative, through the help of Mike Vindler who owns a company named On Rails Engineering, designed the truck to handle whatever we decide to put it through. The guys took my vision and transformed it into something far greater than I could imagine. They connected me to many of the right people in the right companies who proved to be a perfect fit for this memorial.” The Guardian features a custom-built 36” lift, with the components designed by Mike Vindler and built by the guys at Innovative Autoworks. “The suspension alone has 7.6 miles of welding wire used. All suspension components and axle truss were built out of 3/8” thick plate steel with I-beam like strength.” It also sports a one-off trophy truck-inspired rear 4-link system with arm mounted shocks for a floating rear-end appearance, as well a a 2-link front suspension system with full hydraulic steering. To complete

the lift a set of American Force 20x14 Savage wheels were wrapped in 54x19.50R20 Interco Super Swamper TSL Boggers. For the exterior, Innovative Autoworks added the Ford factory fender flares to widen out the body to help compensate for the 54” tall Boggers. A one-off PPG water based paint color was formulated by Habig, which was designed for the pearl in the paint to match the color purple that was on his brother’s ATV in 1994. A Gravel Empire grille, Fusion front and rear bumpers adorn the truck, along with Offroad LED Bars – including six 5.5” square OLBs, 30” OLB and 8 RGB Rock lights. 114

Inside features a Roadwire Leather interior and a boomin’ audio system, which is what Otwell says is the main focus of the truck. “To really honor my brother, we needed a large audio system that matched what my brother had back in the day. We needed ten 15” subs and lots of power. I wanted it to resemble what he had in his personal truck in 1994.” Knowing the importance of the audio system and what that aspect of the build meant to him personally, Innovative Autoworks contacted the guys over at CT Sounds and they really stepped up to the challenge and delivered an audio system that blows your mind. “The quality of the audio system in this build is absolutely outstanding. Nice, clean and crisp sound with bass that rattles your brain,” he says. To further incorporate something personal of his brother’s into the truck, the shop came up with the idea to mount his class ring on the dashboard and used it to actuate the subwoofer. “This shows the level of trust I have for those guys. I left my brothers class ring with TJ and never worried a moment over it.” The last piece of the build was the No. 21 (the age his brother died and 2015 being 21 years since his passing) on the bottom of the truck, which is something the guys at Innovative Autoworks hid from Otwell. “The shop enlisted the help from Jeremy Seanor, who owns a company named Lucky Strike Designs, and presented me with this section the night before we left for SEMA 2015. Through tears I helped install the last piece of the truck.”

According to Otwell, Ray Shadraven and Nick Chin from American Force Wheels were a large part of this project, with Chin connecting him with Innovative Autoworks for the entire build. Thanks to their support, the truck made its grand debut in the American Force Wheels booth at last year’s SEMA Show where it won the Mother’s Choice award for Excellence in Automotive Design thanks to its outstanding fit and finish work. Most recently, it won the Best Engineered trophy at the LoneStar Throwdown in Texas back in February. “It turned out way beyond expectations,” he confesses. “ Innovative Autoworks took this build to another level. The builders produced a product that honors my brother very well. I believe he would love every aspect and part on the truck. He would be very proud of this build. Due to the sentimental meaning behind this build and the level that it was taken to, there is no comparison.”

etermined to set himself apart from other builders, Robert Villegas was relentless when transforming his stock Toyota Tundra into a unique lifted truck. He knew he wanted something that would do triple duty as a family truck in addition to being able to hit the trails hard and something he could show off at local shows, creating “Relentless” in the process. As his first off-road project, “Relentless” was only supposed to have minimal mods, but all that changed once he realized the Tundra’s true potential to be a full build. In the past two years, Villegas has made over his Tundra numerous times given he’s “constantly changing and doing whatever it takes to set [himself] apart,” he explains. A look at his Instagram page (@___Relentless___) will testify his relentlessness to have one of the hottest Tundras on the scene. Having worked on a 1965 VW before, Villegas knew the dedication, determination and hard work needed to create a one-off custom and dove right into the project after he realized he wanted something more than a ride with mediocre mods. “I just wanted to build something that I could say I did and was able to do with great people and amazing sponsors,” he admits. Because he liked the way the thirdgeneration Toyota Tundra’s front end looked, he decided to do a conversion for his 2011 Tundra, which he did by himself in his driveway. “I didn’t know anything about conversions, but after trial and error, got it right,” he says. “I was able to figure it all out without the help from a shop and that was a great feeling. From there, I was able to modify other parts of my truck on my own.”

As Villegas worked the McNeil front-end conversion, he also installed the RK Sport hood and custom headlights. After, he did the rough texturing of the N-Fab RSP Bumper and rear runner, AMP Research side steps, S.M.P roof rack and other miscellaneous parts on the truck. “I also installed all the LED bars/LED pods and their wiring, along with the air lines, air compressor, air tank and air bags in my driveway,” he says. And once he felt comfortable modifying his own truck, Villegas then decided to add his own unique touches to the build with bumper inserts and circular cutouts that others have actually mimicked. To get the right height, a 7” Pro Comp Stage2 lift with 3” body lift was first chosen at the time of the shoot, but he’s since then swapped it out for a 12” Bulletproof lift with ICON Dynamics coilovers and shocks. Villegas wanted a clean look for the Tundra and went with a Satin Pearl wrap with gloss black graphics (however, the truck has been several colors, including black with grey graphics and even a shade of “purplish blue”).

Roadwire provided the interior with a plush environment, including suede headliner, suede door panels and custom leather seats. Custom blue LED gauges, Satin Pearl gauge bezels, LED soft touch switches for lights and WeatherTech floor mats round out the interior mods. His system boasts a Pioneer double-din head unit, Rockford Fosgate amplifiers, subwoofers in a custom ported enclosure and component speakers.

Never truly satisfied with the finished look, Villegas mentions that “Relentless” might never be complete. “I can’t really say it’s final since I keep changing the look or color,” he admits. So far, Relentless has been to numerous shows and events and continues to turn heads everywhere it’s showcased. But because haters gonna hate not everyone has praised Villegas for his work on the truck. “As in all truck builds, you’re always going to get some who like it and some who don’t,” he says. “But in the end, as long as I’m happy with what I have built, that’s all that matters.” 128

2015 FORD F-150 MARIO WILLIAMS of the Miami Dolphins loves trucks and entrusts O’Krinsky and his crew with his rides and only told them he wanted “a Raptor-type truck with the new F-150 body,” mentions O’Krinsky. Always one to please his customers, O’Krinsky called up Addictive Desert Designs and worked out a collaboration to use their new Baja XTR package on the F-150, doubling the truck as a show vehicle to be used in their booth at last year’s SEMA Show. Taking two months to perfect, Williams loved it even more than any stock Raptor and even tested it out off-road, which O’Krinsky proclaims “performed better than an old Raptor.” Although O’Krinsky knew going into the build that making all the newly designed products work together on a newbody F-150 would be tough and present a few challenges, he and his crew handled them like champs and provided Williams with exactly what he wanted and more!

2015 GMC DENALI DUALLY YOU BETTER BE on your A-game when you’re dealing with celebrity clients. Extreme Offroad delivered nothing less than the best work when they also up-fitted a GMC Denali Dually for Mario Williams, who is a huge car/truck enthusiast, according to O’Krinsky. Stepping up to the plate, the shop’s crew made sure everything was just right for the NFL star’s rig. With a request to build a luxury dually to pull his trailers, the guys went right to work to create a rendering worthy of the football player’s acceptance – which ended up being exactly what the truck looked like after the month-long build. As a nice and clean custom, O’Krinsky made sure it still turned heads and opted for the best mods he could get his hands on, including a Kelderman rear air suspension, Cognito front suspension and custom Fuel Offroad dually wheels – the top three mods in his opinion. It was also unveiled at the 2015 SEMA Show before it started putting in work, pulling Williams’ trailers across the country and proving that it works as good as it looks.

2015 CHEVY 2500 “EXTREME HIGH COUNTRY” AS A DISPLAY VEHICLE used by the shop, O’Krinsky and his crew knew they needed a top-notch custom that would show off what they could do and went all out for this Chevy 2500. Nicknamed “Extreme High Country” for its extreme mods, the shop worked day and night to make sure everything was perfect for last year’s SEMA Show so that it could be showcased in Kelderman’s booth. But even before it was completely built, O’Krinsky was solicited by a customer who wanted to gift it to his 16-year-old son as a birthday present. So the pressure was on to make it a stand-out build. But because O’Krinsky and his crew are used to delivering quality builds – regardless if they’re for show or fun – they were able to overcome any obstacles that this three-month build tossed them, including trying to make the custom rear air ride work and measure up as the same size as the Bulletproof front-end kit. Of course, it was well received by all who saw the gargantuan Chevy 2500 which is now being driven by an extremely happy 16-year old!

The first thing any newcomer to Moab notices is the unique scenery of the gorgeous location. Of course, there is also a fantastic Jeep and off-road vehicle scenery in the town, offering chances to see but probably not touch rigs ranging from gorgeous show-builds to utilitarian rock-monsters. The best part of the Easter Jeep Safari, though, is the gathering together of hundreds of the top vendors and knowledgeable experts into a single place. Moab stands out as a unique Jeep destination offering the newcomer everything from welcoming people to good trails. On our very first day in Moab we attempted and conquered the Pritchett Canyon Trail that’s rated at a trail rating of 9. onsters & Tacos at the grand re-opening of 4 Wheel Parts in Bakersfield, may be the best truck and Jeep meet yet for LFTD & LVLD. The first thing we noticed was that truck enthusiasts love their big lifted rigs and cowboy boots! The loud engine roar and metal crushing at the mini â&#x20AC;&#x153;monster truck jamâ&#x20AC;? in the parking lot attracted a constant flow of spectators. It was a successful and fun event where people who showed up got treated to the best custom lifted trucks and Jeeps in Kern County, a raffle for free gear and a filling of Monster Energy drinks and street tacos.

or the 2016 Polaris RZR Mint 400 presented by BFGoodrich, we partnered with “The Great American Off-Road Race” as a media sponsor of one of the biggest and most anticipated off-road events of the year. The annual race kicked off on Wednesday, March 9th in Las Vegas, NV, with the vehicle procession that had more than 100 race vehicles strutting their stuff down the iconic Vegas strip, with a special kick off party and the festivities continued on well into the weekend, with the big race on Saturday, March 12th. On Thursday, March 10th was all business as racers competed in The Mint 400’s Method Race Wheels Time Trials in nearby Primm, NV, to see which racers would start first for the big day on Saturday. And when that was done, it was time for the fun to begin with the Miss Mint 400 coronation event, with Jade Werline taking home the crown, and the Method Race Wheels Pit Crew Challenge and party. For Friday, March 11, the teams showed off their race vehicles down Fremont Street for technical inspection, then things got fun at night for the Mint 400 Unlimited Party presented by Red

Bull. Our display at the Method Race Wheels Pit Crew Challenge lot on 10th & Fremont during contingency was also a huge hit with fans and enthusiasts, as we showcased some fully customized rigs including a new custom Cognito Motorsport built UTV Turbo build for Sallvin-York Racing (SYR). On race day, racers started at Buffalo Bills’ Casino’s infield in Primm Valley, which was one of the event’s most stacked fields in its history as more than 350 of the world’s best off-road teams showed up to battle it out to see who would be the champion. Teams fought for every second as their driver went to battle on the off-road terrain, with a win here signifying that you’re the best of the best. After about 12 intense hours of off-road racing, with Justin Lofton making history with a back-to-back Mint 400 overall win in the #41 FOX Trick Truck known as “BadCo.” 178
