Baby and Toddler Storytime • Every Wednesday at 10:15 am 20 minutes of simple stories & fingerplays for infants and toddlers from birth to 3 years. Preschool Storytime • Every Wednesday at 11:15 am 30 minutes of stories, songs & fingerplays for ages 3 to 5. Squad Car Storytime • Stories read by a Duluth police officer. Schroeder Wednesday, March 27 • 11:15 am *Please note: this is in place of the regular weekly storytime Every state has colors, people just view them differently. Did you know that in Minnesota the color of rain is purple? Or that when Minnesotans see blue they see a land of 10,000 Lakes? Join author Ryan J. Schroeder as he explores the state of Minnesota and the colors that surround us through a reading and discussion of his book, “Colors of Minnesota.” Paid for in part by the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund. 2 - Lake Superior Zoomobile: Endangered Species - 1:00 - 1:45 pm and 2:00 - 2:45 pm, Green Room • Meet endangered animals and their relatives while learning about the impact people have on the survival of animal species. Made possible by the Friends of the Duluth Public Library. Registration is required, two sessions available. We’ll look at Homestead records, Military Bounty lands given in exchange for service, what was required, and who could claim the land; how survey maps work and how metes and bounds are recorded; plat maps, gazetteers, and Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, and much more. Presented by the Twin Ports Genealogical Society. A brief Twin Ports Genealogical Society meeting may precede this event. 7 - Teen Scene - 4 - 6 pm, Green Room • Games, crafts, movies, book discussions and more. You choose what you want to do! Pizza will be served while it lasts. Bring your lunch and play to win a gift card to Barnes & Noble. 14 - What’s Changing - the New Federal Income Tax Forms - 6 - 7 pm, Green Room • Join H&R Block for an informational tax talk about the new 1040 federal income tax form. They will discuss the elimination of the Forms 1040A and 1040EZ, along with the addition of Schedules 1-6 that are new this year. Other topics included are the elimination of personal exemptions and the increase in standard deductions, along with changes in limits or eliminations of itemized deductions. 15 - Movie: At Eternity’s Gate - 2 pm, Green Room • Rated PG-13 • 1h 51m 16 - Learn to Code with Ozobots - 11 am - noon, Green Room Ozobots are tiny robots that you can code using colored markers. Learn

the basics of how they work and how to make them do what you want with this introductory course. For kids in grades 1-5 that have never used Ozobots before. Get the basics from local Market Day artisan Lanae Rhoads. From peppermint to lavender, to lemon and tea tree, learn about their many health benefits and how to safely use them. Everyone will leave with a small bottle of essential oil. Registration is required. Sign up at duluthlibrary.org. 18 - West Duluth Book Club - 3 pm 21 - How to Blend Essential Oils - 6 - 7:30 pm • Essential oils can enhance many areas of life. They can be used for immune support, relaxation, stress, emotional balance, skin care, respiratory health, cleaning, and more. In this class, local Market Day artisan Lanae Rhoads will show you how to blend essential oils with one another to make scent blends, health-boosting blends, and home cleaning blends. Bring one or more vegan cookbooks and one or more recipes from the books that you have tried or would like to try and copies of the recipes, if possible. 11 - Mario Kart Racing - 6 - 7:30 pm • Start your engines! Whether you are an experienced player looking to win bragging rights or a newbie looking to try the game, any teen interested in a night of Wii U gaming fun is welcome. Snacks provided while supplies last. Drop-ins welcome. For teens in grades 6-12. 18 - Read to a Dog - 3:30 - 4:30 pm • Kids are invited to read a story to a good listener with big ears! These one-on-one read-aloud sessions with a licensed therapy dog are a great way to practice reading in a comfortable, low-stress environment. 21 - Crafternoons for Kids - 3 - 4 pm • Drop in for a fun make-and-take craft project. No experience or sign-up required. 25 - Super Smash Bros-a-thon - 6 - 7:30 pm • Super Smash Bros offers an arena for the development and display of electronic fighting prowess. Champions will rise. Contenders will admit defeat. Those poor controller buttons will be mashed… Seasoned pro or easy mode, any teen is welcome. Ready to play? Snacks while supplies last. Drop-ins welcome. For teens in grades 6-12.
