what’s new? Abbey Brady returns after one year of Maternity Leave. After having son, Finley Peter, Abbey returns to PodCreative Tuesdays to Thursdays to oversee the Clayton Graphic Design team.

We welcome back Jacky as a part time designer, formerly our design intern. We were so pleased with Jacky’s attitude and enthusiasm throughout undertaking our Design Experience Internship Program, so much so, we offered her a part time position within our team. Jacky started in her new role at the start of February, Mondays & Tuesdays. We hope you have the pleasure of working with her, while assisting our team in the production of graphic design projects.

Emma is at B&D full time until June 2018. B&D has taken full advantage of having inhouse design capabilities. We are very excited to be able to sit full time at our 2nd remote location and provide B&D Group with so much value, expertise in design and high quality design projects.

Farah, DuluxGroup Tax Accountant, has completed our internship program. It has been an absolute joy having Farah work within our team on Fridays for the last 3 months. Farah is currently studying Graphic Design online through Swinbourne while working in the accounting department at DuluxGroup. Farah has been an asset to our team, completing branding for the IT Cumulus Project and Yates Kids Gardening. We wish her all the best in completing her studies.

BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED, DELIVERED ON TIME AND WITHIN BUDGET! This year, to celebrate the release of Peter Rabbit the movie, Yates & Sony Pictures partnered together with a national consumer promotion - giving customers the chance to WIN a family trip for 4 to New Zealand!

Pod Creative played a pivotal role in designing and creating all POINT OF SALE for this national consumer promotion. From shelf wobblers to tear pads, posters and standees, Pod Creative successfully delivered all POS, including a number of digital assets. Despite some challenges with approvals from Sony Pictures, Pod Creative's quick artwork turn-around helped to get all material approved and into production. The result is a beautifully designed Peter Rabbit Promotion Pack, delivered on time and within budget! Thank you PodCreative and I look forward to working together on our next project! Yates X Sony Peter Rabbit Partnership WO R D S : AS H L E I G H B E W I C K E One of our first projects for 2018 was the exciting Yates x Peter Rabbit partnership campaign ! The creative promoted the new Peter Rabbit movie as well as the chance to Win a family trip to New Zealand or weekly movie pass giveaways if consumers purchased any Yates products. Pod, Yates & SONY Pictures worked closely together to develop all collateral for this campaign, while adhering to the Peter Rabbit guidelines and still promoting an inspiring Yates feel. The assets for the promotion included an A3 Poster, Tearpad, Standee, Mock Movie Ticket, Wobblers, and a Trade Presenter, along with a range of digital assets to help push the promotion online.

ATA New Premium Remotes, Packaging and Print Collateral WO R D S : E M M A A I T K E N H E A D Emma was approached by Marie the product manager from ATA to assist with choosing the final colours for new premium remote controls, to design the product packaging, create a brochure, pricelist, website content and remote mail out cards. The brief was for there to be two new remote control colours in the range. It was required that the colours be unisex and to not include those already used on competitor brands. The final colours were cool dark grey, black and a slight hint of ATA orange with dark brushed metal elements. Once the new product was finalised and sent to production, Marie and Emma brainstormed packaging solutions for the new remotes. Marie’s goal was to make the packaging fit in to her budget yet also still look fresh and premium. First starting with a hard box with foam inserts then moving on to a simple, slim, plastic clamshell. The clamshell option was budget friendly and Emma had free range with designing the insert which would be seen from the exterior of the clear plastic case. The overall design looks bright, clean, modern and Marie was delighted with final product. The next step of the process was the roll out of print collateral like A4 brochures, accredited dealers pricelists – both print and editable PDF and a remote control mail out card to post samples out for dealers to use as an example. Website content was to follow once the new product had been launched.

Dulux Trade Campaign WO R D S : S H A N I E CA R N I E In November 2017, we were asked by Aimee to estimate the cost of designing the Dulux Trade Store Campaigns. Due to the cost saving of both design from PodCreative and print from Southern Colour, we started to develop a new look for the catalogues and point of sale. The layout has been simplified and there is more white space to break up the products. We have implemented a paint stroke to the pricing and deal title which stands out and ties together with the overall theme. The campaigns feature catalogues, posters, edm’s, point of sale, price tickets, signage, email invitations, hype reels and digi screens which create consistency and excitement in store.


The Timber Studio Branding WO R D S : S H A N I E CA R N I E We were asked to develop a modern logo for the Timber Studio team (located in The Barncastle). A simple, handwritten logo was created for the teams’ polo shirts to create a professional look. They look fantastic and contrast well against the Cabot’s Woodcare Brands beautifully.


Liquid Nails Instant Hold Video & Collateral WO R D S : A L L A N A CA R N I E Throughout April, the team worked on new collateral to promote Selleys’ Liquid Nails Instant Hold, including a video that clearly demonstrates the strength of the product. For a high performing adhesive, we opted for imagery of metal with impactful, fast paced movement, and kept this feel consistent throughout the Selleys Liquid Nails Instant Hold print and web campaign collateral.

Feast Watson How-To Videos WO R D S : A L L A N A CA R N I E PodCreative have created a series of Feast Watson Exterior decking videos, to follow the interior Re-love projects. We have been busy working on the first of the 4 videos; How to Use Matt Look Decking Oil and How to Use Wet Look Decking Oil videos. These were filmed at the Clayton DuluxGroup Barncastle and edited for social media and trade consumers.

Yates Thrive Citrus Animation WO R D S : A L L A N A CA R N I E PodCreative put together some content for the Yates website and Facebook pages to promote the Yates Thrive Citrus range. An animated video with voice over was created, along with a 15 second cut down version, 2 gif’s for social media, and a banner for each page. The campaign took on a similar style to the Yates Waterwise DroughtShield web content which was created in 2017, but this time, demonstrating and comparing the use of the Yates Thrive Natural Citrus & Fruit organic based plant food pellets and Yates Thrive Citrus Liquid Plant Food.

Leading with Purpose Training Booklet WO R D S : A B B E Y B R A DY A trial of the latest Leading with Purpose Training Course required a new work book. The format of the book that Southern Colour printed, allows the attendees to work through the course and when completed, they can reuse it later. Yates Growing with you Autumn eMag WO R D S : AS H L E I G H B E W I C K E The second edition of Yates E-Mag ‘Growing With You’ was a huge success and another fantastic opportunity for PodCreative to be involved in. We are always looking to provide more value to our clients and by offering our advice to Yates to explore ISSUU, they were able to gain valuable insights into their readers, articles and user engagement. Yates can see what their readers are using to view the magazine, where they live in the world and the average time spent on the magazine and individual pages.



Cumulus IT Program WO R D S : FA R A H N A Z E E R / A L L A N A CA R N I E Our team developed a set of icons and one overarching logo for the rollout of the Cumulus Technology to DuluxGroup. The four icons needed to represent the different drivers of the Cumulus Technology; upgrade, enablement, modernisation and transition. Using basic graphic elements, symbols and contrasting colours, we came up with an icon set that easily differentiates these drivers. The design has been kept current with the use of gradients which have recently made a comeback into the design world. Combined with flat graphics, the overall look is bold, modern and representative of the possibilities the Cumulus Technology has for DuluxGroup. To complete this branding project, we designed and animated a timeline demonstrating the milestones throughout 2017, of how the Cumulus Program was developed, in a simple hand drawn icon style.
