WELCOME To THE
SCHOOL OF DESIGN at
Dunwoody College of Technology! Trevor Bullen—Dean, School of Design
SCHOOL OF DESIGN | EXPO 2022
We are excited to share with you the product of our greatest asset: our students.
2
This book is an expression of their creativity, ingenuity, drive and passion. The design and layout of this book was executed entirely by our students under the guidance of our dedicated faculty. We are grateful for their efforts in bringing this project to life, as well as to the continued support of the Dunwoody administration and Program Advisory Committees (PAC).
Korrin Howard—Director, School of Design
The goal of this book is to capture the spirit and character of our programs and to showcase the work of our graduating students. It provides a snapshot of our vibrant and diverse learning community and serves as an archive of our collective history. The book is structured into three sections, highlighting the work in each of the School of Design’s programs: architecture, graphic design and interior design. While each discipline has a distinct character and focus, they share a common underpinning grounded in handson, real-world learning. The book accompanies our inaugural School of Design Expo; an annual celebration of the year in the life of our school. An opportunity for our industry and community partners to engage with our students as they prepare to enter their professions.
WELCOME/FACULTY
Employers consistently tell us that our graduates are technically competent, creative thinkers ready and able to contribute on day one. We value our industry relationships and owe much of our success to the industry professionals who enrich our student experience by serving as studio reviewers, mentors, PAC members, and adjunct faculty. Over the last two years, our students have shown great resilience and adaptability as they have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are exceedingly proud of what they have been able to accomplish and look forward to seeing what their futures hold. We hope that you will enjoy the work included in this book and invite you to get involved, stay connected and support our graduates in the days, months and years ahead.

Dunwoody’s Architecture Programs are uniquely structured as two-plus-three stackable credentials: Associate of Applied Science and Bachelor of Architecture. Accredited by NAAB (National Architectural Accrediting Board) and participating in IPAL (Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure) the program is structured to reduce barriers to the practice of architecture.
A degree from Dunwoody’s School of Design involves community engagement and social responsibility, both locally and globally. Our distinctive position within the College gives us access to collaborations across a variety of technical disciplines. Our students work intimately with fabrication tools, participate in design-build projects, and present unique designs to peers and industry professionals. Students understand the effects architecture has on the global context and their local communities.
Our graduates are industry-ready and born to design!

I would love to work on a restaurant or hotel in Sweden. I love the creative storytelling that allows a restaurant or hotel design come to life, and it would be fun to go back to Sweden to design a project.

What is your greatest design strength?

I have been told by a few of my instructors that I have a keen eye when choosing materials and laying them out in a mood board format, so I would say that is my greatest strength. How do you keep your creative juices flowing? I enjoy searching for new ideas, traveling, and just being able to take time to myself to get new or different perspectives. Provide 3 words to describe yourself: Driven, Creative, Wanderlust
INTERIOR DESIGN
What’s the most essential thing you’ve learned in school? Just be yourself, even if you are more on the quiet side, personality wise. I have met multiple Interior Designers who are similar to me and they have become very successful in their careers despite that quality in them. What’s your dream job? To become my own boss doing residential design. Being able to bring my clients dreams to life is something I hope to one day achieve—preferably designing homes that are located near/in the mountains of Montana and surrounding states or vast forests of Northern Minnesota and surrounding states.
PROCESS Our objective was to create a book that represented students from all of the dprograms within the School of Design. Students worked in teams to brainstorm ideas for this book. After weeks of ideation they presented their process, concepts, and design rationale to leadership for final selection. Concept one was chosen and eventually combined into this one book.
