THE NEXT GENERATION OF INDUSTRY LEADERS “We are a diversi ied group of young professionals that bring fresh innovative ideas paired with energy and dedication to detail.” Meet Aaron Fisher, Senior Project Manager at Onicx … Few people in the upper echelon of luxury custom home building have amassed the experience that Aaron has by the age of 33. He has managed some of the most recognized residential projects in the area with sizes ranging to 30,000 square feet for high pro ile athletes as well as local business leaders. As an up and coming young project manager, with great success under his belt, Aaron made the move to Onicx in 2012. With Onicx, a commercial contractor with a luxury home division, he felt that there was enormous opportunity for growth. He joined on as a senior project manager, working on the largest residential home in the Tampa Bay Area. This is managed through proper planning, coordination, and supervision.

At Onicx he found that the synergy of its team, customer service and communication were growing a company illed with a diversi ied group of young professionals with fresh, innovative ideas, not to mention technical pro iciency. “Our technical ability allows us not to be limited by a speci ic architectural style, by complexity of design or by the size of a project.” Aaron, like Onicx, has a commitment to excellence and believes that when relationships are cultivated, business follows. The Onicx culture is designed to build a trust and bond between client and company. Built on uncompromising integrity, Onicx continues to deliver outstanding commercial and luxury residential projects by working together as a team of experienced professionals that treats every project as if it were their own.

Book Amanda Beard’s In the Water They Can't See You Cry. I've known Amanda for more than half my life and I roomed with her on national team trips. For her to have the courage to come forward with her troubles and hard times is so courageous and brave. I've had my moments of struggle — we all do and that’s why I think every mom, dad, coach and athlete should read this book to know what goes on behind the closed doors. Being an icon in today's world is a bigger challenge than ever before and it won't every get easier. The internet, media and social media it is all around you whether you like it or not. The pressure is on at an earlier age to be considerated great. But what many don't understand, it that in all this glory, there are far more tears and hard days to be considered that role model. In the end, you have to be happy with who YOU ARE, not who people want you to be.

Way to Relax or Escape Any chance I get I just want to be out on the boat.

Workout Music Old-school rap and hip-hop or classic rock.

Gadget or Electronic Beats by Dre headphones. I've got purple ones. They’re perfect to tune out noise and get my mind ready to race.

Brooke Bennett m Competition swimmer and three-time Olympic gold medalist

m Sports broadcaster m Certified personal trainer and nutritionist m Wheaties Box cover girl and soon-to-be author In the Tampa Bay area, what is your favorite: Hidden Treasure Have to go with my hometown, Downtown Plant City antique shops, and of course, every March the Strawberry Festival with anything and everything strawberry you can imagine.

Museum or Gallery MOSI. I love all the special exhibits coming to town — dinosaurs, bodies and who doesn't remember the hurricane simulator as a kid on field trips.

Natural Treasure I like to find own my "private" islands out on the Intercoastal of Clearwater for a picnic lunch and to explore for wildlife.

Restaurant Ciccio's. You have to ask for my special protein power burger with a tuna steak on top and wasabi soy sauce.

Fragrance kai, because I’m totally in love with gardenias.

Charitable Cause Swim Across America. In the first two years of the Tampa swim, we have donated $250,000 to Moffitt's melanoma research.

Place to Swim Out of retirement and focusing on open water events, it is about finding places outside of the pool to compete. But how many people can say they’ve swam the length of the Tampa Bay? Well, on April 20, 2013 I completed the swim (24 miles) in unfavorable conditions. The swim was calculated to take under 8 hours with my training and ability, but instead took just over 10 hours. But it sets my sights on Manhattan Island (28.5 miles) and Catalina Channel (20 miles) in the upcoming year(s).

Nutritional Snack Food is my fuel. I love to eat healthy, so to list just one, that is challenging. But it’s all about what I can take on the go like Frog Fuel, Naked smoothies and protein and MET-Rx Big 100 Colossal – Super Cookie Crunch. It’s easier to say my biggest weakness. I love Skittles! I just can’t say no.

Workout Motivation It’s my goal and my dream. If I don’t do the job to reach them, it’s my failure and my tears; but why set the bar high if you aren’t willing to work through the blood, sweat and tears to be a champion? I’m not ok with just being average. www.duPontREGISTRY.com/TampaBay 29

Way to Relax or Escape I love to be on my motorcycle and I love to be on my boat. One requires your utmost attention but it’s a great escape at the same time. That’s the motorcycle. And being on the water and seeing the natural beauty of the area is astonishing. There is not a more beautiful place to fly into or a more beautiful place to live than in Tampa Bay.

Workout Music I don’t really have favorite workout music but anything up-tempo. The only time I can really enjoy techno music is if I’m working out though.

Gadget or Electronic My iPhone®. I would say I have a love/hate relationship with it.

Car I’ve had so many great cars that I’ve owned but my favorite, most-fun car was a 1997 Toyota Supra.

Charitable Cause My favorite charitable cause is the Florida Baptist Children’s Home, because it’s children who have been orphaned in the night and have nowhere to go. My wife and our family have a heart for kids.

Paul Azinger ✢ Professional golfer on the PGA Tour since 1982 ✢ Has 12 wins, including the 1993 PGA Championship ✢ Played on four US Ryder Cup teams ✢ Two-time author and iPhone app creator

Place to Golf In California, because it is usually a wonderful temperature. Locally, it would be The Concession in Bradenton off State Road 7.

iPhone® App My own app, Golfplan. It’s a really good app. It’s userfriendly and the instructional aspect of that app is common sense, quick fixes. I’m not showing people how to do things the way I do them. I’m showing people how to correct what problems they are having.

Piece of Advice You Received and From Whom

In the Tampa Bay area, what is your favorite: Hidden Treasure The Taco Bus on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. I’ve ordered about anything and everything on the menu, and I’ve never had a bad meal there. There is a pineapple drink there that I just love.

I got this advice when I was sick [Paul was diagnosed with cancer in 1993 and successfully overcame it]. “It’s not always what you accomplish in life that matters; it’s about what you’ve overcome.” Johnny Miller said that to me.

Moment in Your Golfing Career

Piece of Tampa Bay History

When I was captain of the winning Ryder Cup team in 2008.

The whole Ybor City thing and its Cuban heritage: the cigars, the sandwiches and all that. I love that Ybor City has been restored.

Keepsake My wife.

Natural Treasure My favorite natural treasure is Florida aquatic life and fishing. The fishing in Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico is some of the best in the world.

Book I like all Carl Hiaasen books, because he writes about Florida.

Poker Face I don’t have a poker face. My poker face is not to have a particular poker face. I do try to look at others’ faces and see if they are telling the truth. If they are staring right at me, I have to call their bluff. www.duPontREGISTRY.com/TampaBay

with Paulo, the owner. But I’m so fortunate because I married a guy who is an absolute fabulous gourmet cook, so many of the best meals I ever have are in my own home, thanks to my husband Mike. I follow recipes; he creates.

Book The book I read the most is the Bible. I pick up a novel from time to time, but truthfully, a lot of my reading is done on airplanes and that's when I catch up on my People magazine. Does that make me shallow?

Way to Relax or Escape Golf is my absolute favorite thing to do. I'm not sure it's relaxing, but it's definitely a great escape. Plus, I just love being outdoors. I also love my gardening. I can escape into my garden for hours at a time.

Workout Music When I workout, it's usually with a TV on ... no music.

Gadget or Electronic I am totally addicted to my iPhone. I feel like my whole life is on that phone ... and my favorite games!

Car

Gayle Sierens 0 News anchor on WFLA-TV, Tampa NBC affiliate 0 First female sportscaster in the Bay area 0 First woman to do play-by-play for an NFL regular season football game

This is such a joke in my family. I still drive my "mommy" car even though the kids are grownup. It's a 2006 Navigator with 112,000 miles on it. But it hauls my golf clubs and my flowers, so it's perfect! I'm actually looking at getting an Audi convertible just for fun!

Charitable Cause I honestly can't say that I have a favorite. I have a lot that I like. I'm on the board for the Judeo-Christian health clinic and I have to say the work they do there is pretty magnificent. So that would probably be it.

Place Just Before Newscast

In the Tampa Bay area, what is your favorite:

Really sitting at my desk going over scripts and getting a chance to ask producers or reporters any questions. You want to be in the newsroom at news time because that is where the action is.

Hidden Treasure

To Get Dessert

The Village Health Market. Their salad bar is awesome! And I love their daily homemade soups.

My house when my husband brings home whatever I ask him to from Mike’s Pie’s (Gayle’s husband is Mike Martin, former linebacker for the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots, who owns the Mike's Pies & Coffee Shoppe in Tampa.) Of the stuff that he makes, I love the classic pies. Cherry might be my favorite. But he also makes fabulous pecan pies, and he is making cheesecakes now so I love those too. I’m definitely a Mike’s Pies dessert girl.

Piece of Tampa Bay History The University of Tampa and its beautiful buildings, and minarets are stunning. And who doesn't love the history of Teddy and the Rough Riders?

Natural Treasure My favorite place in the world to be is in the mountains, but they are a little harder to get to on a regular basis than our beautiful beaches. Anna Maria Island is such a treasure. I love that so much of it remains like old Florida ... the Florida I remember as a child.

Restaurant Caffe Paradiso. My husband and I like to sit at the bar and eat and chat it up

Watch a Game We have always traveled a lot to see our children play sports at their respective colleges, and those places really got to feel like home. So, it’s hard to say where my favorite place is to watch a game. But I also love to sit in the stands and watch a Rays game or a Lightning game. www.duPontREGISTRY.com/TampaBay 33

Natural Treasure Fort De Soto Park. We love taking family and friends here to camp. There’s wonderful spots right on the water where we kayak, fish and explore. Who wouldn't love to camp under the stars and palm trees (Tina); Hillsborough River State Park is what I imagine Florida looked like when it was first discovered. We love walking the trails along the river, spotting alligators and picnicking in the park. It also has a massive swimming pool and very tasty restaurant (Kenny).

Book The Bible. We are Christians, so the blueprint (Bible) is the foundation, and we read it daily for wisdom and guidance (Tina and Kenny).

Way to Relax or Escape Combing our beautiful beaches, searching for sea glass, which I have been collecting all over the world since I was only 5 years old (Tina); Working out. I was a professional athlete, and working out became a routine that started my day (Kenny).

Hosts of “Adventures with a Vision” In the Tampa Bay area, what is your favorite:

iPad®. It has almost replaced my laptop to help me run three current business endeavors (Tina); Casio Pathfinder. Because I am such an outdoor guy, I love the compass, altimeter, thermometer and timer. It gives you something to focus on when things get a bit slow (Kenny).

Fragrance Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb because it’s unique and sexy but not too strong (Tina); Pine trees. Being raised in the Northwest, I have always loved the smell of the trees. It makes me feel free and reminds me of home (Kenny).

Car Classic Ferrari 250 GT California (Tina); Toyota FJ Cruiser (Kenny).

Watch OMEGA Diamond Constellation. Even though it is diamond-encrusted, this has become my everyday watch (Tina); Rolex Submariner. It was the first gift my wife gave me, so it will always be very special (Kenny).

Charitable Cause

The Columbia Restaurant because it combines great food with a great visionary man, Richard Gonzmart (Tina); Gasparilla is special because of its history with Tampa. I love the way the community embraces its history with the reenactment and period dress for a weekend (Kenny).

Give Kids The World and The Children's Cancer Center. Tina and I agree that the most rewarding aspect of life is being able to give back and help those who can’t help themselves. It reminds you what all our purposes should be, which is not about us but about helping others (Tina and Kenny).

Museum or Gallery

Reality TV Show

Salvador Dali Museum because it has exquisite architecture blended with the largest collection of Dali's works outside of Europe! Throw in its waterfront location and great cafe, and you have a winning combination (Tina); I love MOSI because of all the interactive exhibits and the children’s science center, which our grandchildren love to spend time playing in (Kenny).

The Amazing Race (Tina and Kenny).

Piece of Tampa Bay History

Destination While on Amazing Race After 40,000 miles and nine countries in under 30 days, we LOVED New Zealand! (Tina and Kenny). www.duPontREGISTRY.com/TampaBay 35

Restaurant Bern’s Steak House. I’ve always enjoyed going there and it’s always an experience. I love brining new people there because it’s a special, old restaurant with great wines. I bring people from France there that are used to the vineyards, and they can’t believe what they are drinking at Bern’s. It’s a really special place.

Way to Relax or Escape I was going to say golf, but I don’t really relax. So, I’d have to say going to the beach. Florida is a great place for beaches. And during the hockey season, when you have a day off, it’s good to go there and relax on the water. And that’s unusual for a hockey player because most of them are somewhere cold.

Workout Music I can go from house music to rock to just about anything. I love Coldplay. It doesn’t have to be upbeat; it just has to be good music.

Gadget or Electronic I’m going to go with my Apple TV. I love to watch TV shows, but I’m not a big gadget guy, so I don’t have a ton of electronics around. It’s my cell phone and my Apple TV. If I have those two, I’m good.

Vincent Lecavalier p p p p

Professional ice-hockey player Former Tampa Bay Lightning star for 14 seasons before signing with the Philadelphia Flyers Stanley Cup winner Founder of the Vincent Lecavalier Foundation

In the Tampa Bay area, what is your favorite: Hidden Treasure I would say going with my kids to the beach on Davis Islands. Not the dog beach but there is a little beach there with only three or four people there. We love going there and just relaxing.

Charitable Cause Pediatric cancer. I have been involved with that for many years and with All Children’s Hospital in St. Pete. A lot of the Lightning guys and I used to go the hospital and see these kids – these really courteous kids — and everything they were going through. That’s why I wanted to be involved and help make a difference.

Place to Skate Montreal since that’s where I’m from. There is something about that building … and when you go out on the ice. It’s a loud building and it was always one of my favorite teams growing up.

Advice to Give a Junior Player I would tell a kid that whatever you are passionate about, that’s what you should continue doing. If you have passion for a sport or something else, you work your hardest to become as good as you can be.

Game-Day Tradition Museum or Gallery I usually go to the Glazer Children’s Museum with my kids on Ashley there. The last three years have been more about the kids (as they have gotten older), so I like to go there with them. There are a lot of activities and things they can do and see.

The whole game day is a big routine: from what I eat to how I stretch to how I put my equipment on. The whole day is a big routine. I think every athlete is like that.

Moment in Your Hockey Career Book I’d have to check my library, but I really liked the last book I read. It’s called Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team SIX Operator Adam Brown. It’s a military story about a really courageous man, and I love to read books about that.

Winning the Stanley Cup in 2004 in Tampa. There is nothing that beats that moment. It’s been 10 years and it’s still surreal. It’s a dream come true. There are no other moments in hockey that beat that. dR www.duPontREGISTRY.com/TampaBay 37

The horse stables not only provide accommodations for your equine friend, but for the quarter horses that are tacked and ready to go for trail rides. ALL EYES ON SAN FRANCISCO Preparing for the 34th America’s Cup

Say hello to the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and you’ll see why San Francisco offers one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.

By Cindy Cockburn

Photos by Rod Millington and Mike Dupre | Oracle photographed by Guilain GRENIER

The City by the Bay will host the 34th America’s Cup Race this September where the top sailors in the world will literally fly along the surface at 40 mph aboard a high-tech catamaran. Visitors will gather to see the finest super yachts in action during the Final Race set for September 9-13. The Emirates Team, New Zealand, Defender Team Oracle plus the Italian Boat Luna 56 www.duPontREGISTRY.com/TampaBay

Rossa are actively practicing daily on the Bay. New safety rules have them suited up in padded body armor, crash helmets and emergency oxygen tanks. The Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Series runs from July through September and determines who will race the Defender, ORACLE TEAM USA in the Finals.

Visitors can follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest sailors of all time and sail the America's Cup official course aboard the America's Cup Challenger, USA 76. At 84 feet long and holding up to 20 passengers, the 12 meter departs from

the central location of PIER 39. Help with the ‘hoist’, take your turn as a ‘grinder’ and be the skipper of your own America’s Cup team as you take the helm of this high speed yacht. Tours are offered daily from 10:30-1pm from the East Marina.

Unique ocean-related experiences will take place all summer: The America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Series features guest speakers like sailor and filmmaker Sprague Theobald, author of The Other www.duPontREGISTRY.com/TampaBay 57

Side of the Ice discussing his journey to the Northwest Passage. The private St. Francis Yacht Club or the Golden Gate Club offers the best views for the race, but only if you hold a membership. Enjoy the City during your visit and all the new offerings: The brand new Exploratorium Science Museum is gigantic in a new palatial 330,000 square foot home. It opened in April on Pier 15 on the Embarcadero and is three times larger than its previous location at the Palace of Fine Arts. The Buena Vista Café is renowned for

Irish Coffee (the secret is Tullamore Dew whiskey) and located at the Cable Car turn around at Hyde Street. Fresh seafood is king at the Tadich Grill on California Street dating back to 1849. The Petrale Sole Filet and Seafood Cioppino are the most popular dishes and paired with the Concannon Cabernet from Livermore. Seafood also rules around Pier 39 and the Fog Harbor Fish House is a great place to visit before or after the Aquarium of the Bay. The Osso Steakhouse in Nob Hill is brought to you by restauranters Jerry and

Jennifer Dal Bozzo in partnership with Dante Serafini. Check out the Hot Iron Dungeness Crab. Longtime resident Marsha Monro claims it has the “City's best martini” and if visiting with a date don’t forget to ask General Manager Myron Potter for a romantic private booth for two. The Presidio Social Club, Park Tavern (where the high tech crowd hangs out: brussel sprout crispy chips are a favorite) and Original Joe’s are the “in” trendy places with great bar scenes. Music lovers will enjoy the brand new SF Jazz Center which is the nation’s first stand-alone jazz performance hall. YOSHI’S at Fillmore Street is a local favorite, offering an extensive food and wine menu along with Jazz. Sushi rolls are fresh and the Hess Chardonnay makes the evening complete. Feel the power of Mother Nature and drive along the Pacific Ocean to check out surfers braving the notorious rough currents. Head over the Golden Gate to Marin County and explore the Redwoods on the way to the wine country. Domaine Carneros is open from 10 am to 5:45 pm daily. Secret tip: join the Chateau Society Club Room & Terrace for a tour and tasting. The Sparkling Cheese Plate includes a fine selection including Carmody, Mt. Tam and Midnight Moon. The Caviar/Smoke Salmon selection is a treat. In Napa the Merryvale Tasting Menu offers current releases of the classic varietal wines. The Westin St. Francis Hotel in the heart of Union Square on Powell Street is a shoppers paradise and perfect central location for a visit to San Francisco. Dine in their Oak Room where Old World surroundings Chef Thomas Rimpel’s ultramodern cuisine. dR HOME

ENHANCE YOUR OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE

It’s that time of year when we like to be outside and enjoy our outdoor spaces more and more. Of course, that enjoyment is enhanced when the space is personalized, well-decorated and comfortable to be in. Dominique Martinez, owner of Rustic Steel, first became immersed in the art world when he worked at an auction house in New York City, researching artists and assisting in writing appraisals. Since then, he finds inspiration from his travels to art galleries in New York City, and throughout Europe and South America. And he brings that inspiration to his clients’ homes. Over the past few years, Dominique has noticed that clients are breaking the mold from what has been de rigueur. Instead, they are now interested in pieces that are decorative while still maintaining their functionality. When the project is finished—whether it be a balcony, gate, garden art—clients tend to say, “wow, I’m so glad I did it slightly different,” according to Dominique. “Anytime you have a chance to change the landscape of someone’s backyard, that’s a compliment to us,” said Dominique. “I love what I do with an extreme, undying passion.” That passion is evident in the works of art that he and his team of seven create. Passion and inspiration certainly fuel the fire of the artists whose works on are display at the Duncan McClellan Gallery in St. Petersburg. The gallery showcases a variety of art from 40 different artists, with monthly shows that enable art enthusiasts to learn of new artists, some of whom are internationally known. Dale Rogers, one of the gallery’s featured artists, works with Cor-Ten Steel that takes on a rust over time. “The rust actually protects the steel,” said Duncan, gallery owner. “It’s particurlarly good for use in saltwater areas like ours,” he said. Duncan himself works in glass, and has recently completed a large sculptural piece that illuminates, as well as lamp posts that are made of blown glass. The fragility of the glass plays well with the textures of the out-of-doors, complimenting both. Outdoor decorating starts from the ground up, and Tuan Ho with StoneMart says that French pattern pavers continue to be 62 www.duPontREGISTRY.com/TampaBay

popular with their clients. Of the French pattern pavers offered, those in Desert Gold compliment the warm Florida sun, while the lighter, cooler Leonardo shade is the most popular. Fortunately for those of us living in Florida, the trend this summer is a coastal look—incorporating blues, browns and greens with floral, sea life and aviary prints. Pottery Barn seamlessly throws it all together with their comfy outdoor pillows, sure to add some fun to your outdoor seating area. Anthropologie in Hyde Park Village is filled with inspiration. Why not take that same style and inspiration outside? The Pelican Garden Pot brings a smile, and the Knotted Melati Hanging Chair makes for a fun place to sit and relax on your lanai. There’s much to be inspired by when it comes to decorating your outdoor space—go for it! dR

DUCATI 1199 PANIGALE By Ed Jones

The Ducati 1199 Panigale is a revolutionary superbike, setting the bar for years to come. Not only is it one of the most extreme superbikes Ducati has ever created, it is also a historic moment in the famous Italian motorcycle manufacturer’s long history. When creating the 1199 Panigale, Ducati set out to build a bike with the greatest power-to-weight ratio ever. In order to accomplish this, they needed to not only increase the power, but reduce the weight. To increase the power, the most powerful twin-cylinder production engine on the planet was put in place, upping the output to 195 hp and 98.1 lb-ft of torque. The decrease in weight comes from the groundbreaking monocoque chassis, which eliminates the traditional frame and drops the weight to 362 pounds. Both efforts led to the greatest power-to-weight ratio among production motorcycles. The 1199R has the most advanced electronics package of any production superbike. Each Panigale R comes with the 94 www.duPontREGISTRY.com/TampaBay

ability to switch between three different riding modes: Sport, Race, and Wet. The Race Riding Mode is perfect for the track rider, giving the rider access to all 195 hp with instant throttle response, minimal traction control intervention, and front wheel only ABS. In the Sport Riding Mode, the 195 hp is delivered with a “smooth” throttle response for high-speed commutes, traction control is at a higher level, and ABS is on for both wheels. When using the Wet Riding Mode the max power of 120 hp is delivered with even smoother throttle response, DTC system intervention is again increased, the DQS (power shifter) is turned off, and the ABS is fully enhanced. With the plethora of adjustments found in the Wet Riding Mode, the 1199 Panigale is optimized for low grip conditions and daily commuting. Suspension is state-of-the-art Ohlins electroncically adjustable fork and monoshock. Each mode has increasingly sporty settings, or the rider can make his own rebound and com-

pression choices for each mode. Since the 1199 Panigale’s release, it has been widely regarded as one of the most groundbreaking superbikes ever created. Due to the combination of the engine management and suspension features, It can easily be ridden as a daily commuter, but has the ability to open up and become one of the fastest superbikes on the track. dR

photorealism captures the essence of the subject Nicole Morris By Janan Talafer Nicole Morris’s grandmother Helen Wilson established St. Petersburg’s iconic Wilson’s Book World back in 1971. Today, the bookstore is still family owned and operated and continues to offer a diverse selection of current, rare and out-of-print used books. Nicole’s paintings are on display there, treating visitors to amazingly realistic black and white acrylic portraits in a photorealism style—paintings inspired by photographs of the subject matter, which makes them even more life-like. Her portraits run the gamut from stars like Marilyn Monroe and Woody Allen to family groups, individuals and favorite pets. She also enjoys creating highly detailed drawings of still lifes and animals, especially birds. The drawings are done with illustration markers, which gives them a feel similar to a pen and ink sketch. Morris, 25, has been an artist ever since she can remember and showed talent from a young age. She graduated from Seminole High School and attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She’s now back in the area and aspires to hang her art at galleries in the near future.
