THE NEW “LAB” COLLECTION BY PERRELET
The “LAB” model by Perrelet, a name bound up with the origins of the automatic movement since 1777, heralds a new casual chic collection and remains true to the values and DNA of the brand with its signature “dial in motion”. The steel 42 x 42 mm case boasts an original architecture of the dial. The three-dimensional effect dial is available in silver-toned, anthracite or black versions with cut-out hour-markers enhanced with white SuperLuminova applied to a sapphire crystal ring. This transparent element enables one to admire the most distinctive feature of this watch: its oscillating weight which is generally visible through the case-back. This technical innovation was made possible by Caliber P-411, produced within the Manufacture. The rotor moves on three ball-bearings which also serves as shockproof and is adorned with a decorated screw-down plate. Displaying the hours, minutes and seconds by central hands and the date at 6 o’clock, the LAB has a 42-hour power reserve and is fitted with a black alligator leather strap and a steel folding clasp. With almost forty years of tuning and competition under its Bottrop (Germany) belt, Brabus has evolved into the largest independent tuner of Mercedes-Benz automobiles and sport (emphasis on the ‘sport’) utilities. For those wanting a singularly American spin on Brabus’ over-the-top template, Dallas-based Starwood Customs is all in, creating your personal vision of what an off-and-onroad experience can – and should – be. For Stars center Tyler Seguin, Starwood Customs adapted a subtle menu to Seguin’s wants and needs. Under the hood is 5.5 liters of Mercedes V8. With forced induction via twin turbochargers, the hyper-tuned Benz delivers 620 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. Those wheels are Modulare’s 24x10-inch Monoblocks, their B14 design finished in Tinted Brush. Between wheel and road is the rubber, where Pirelli Scorpion Zero Assimmetricos reliably deliver the G-Wagon’s prodigious power to the pavement. But performance wasn’t Seguin’s singular motive. Outside, the Brabus ‘face’ is upgraded with a carbon fiber hood, black light conversion and Euro-sourced bumper mods. And since they’ll hear you – via Brabus’ G63 exhaust amplifying the twin-turbo tenor – before they see you, the exterior is finished in a Mercedes Designo Magno Night Black matte. That exterior forcefully complements the G-Wagon’s Designo interior, which surrounds Seguin in diamond-quilted Black Nappa leather. The iconic M-B grill and all badges are gloss black. Tyler could have chosen a bigger – albeit not better – street vibe. But as an accomplished, successful professional, Seguin pursues his downtime in a confident, up-tempo rhythm. U
ugatti has said that the Chiron is “the world’s most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and most exclusive production super sports car.” Powering the car is the 8.0-liter W16 engine with two-stage turbocharging, which pumps out an extraordinary 1,500 and 1,180 lb-ft of torque between 2,000 and 6,000 RPM. With this power and the sevenspeed dual-clutch gearbox, Bugatti states that the Chiron is ready to set a

new world speed record, especially with the stated top speed of 260.9 mph. It should also be mentioned that the Chiron will be able to run 0-62 mph in less than 2.5 seconds. And if you expect there to be a lot of radiators, like the Veyron, the Chiron hosts ten of them. To make the Chiron more nimble, especially when compared to the Veyron, Bugatti installed a new carbon fiber monocoque, newly designed adaptive chassis, tires designed especially for Bugatti, new brakes with
Formula One technical modules and more. The adaptive chassis includes five driving programs, including Life, EB “Auto, Autobahn, Handling and Top Speed. Inside, French luxury is on full display. The cockpit has been designed specifically for a driver-oriented experience. When sitting down, the driver will have climate control, infotainment systems and other features all within an arm’s reach. Separating the driver from the passenger is an
illuminated C-bar that Bugatti is calling “the longest light conductor in the automobile industry.” If you’re interested in the Chiron, you’ll want to act quickly. Bugatti says that they’ve already taken orders on one-third of the Chirons planned for production, which is 500 total. Each comes with a base price of €2.4 million, roughly $2.6 million USD.

ony Stark will need a larger garage, now that Audi has released their latest V10 powered R8 Spyder at the New York International Auto Show. Earlier this month we spotted a few topless Huracans at the Amelia Island Concours, and we figured the new R8 convertible would follow close behind. Huracan and R8 are now closer than ever, with both models benefiting from a 50 percent stronger aluminum space frame. The stalwart 5.2L V10 is tuned to 540 hp, which allows 62 mph (100 kph) to arrive in 3.6 seconds. The powered soft top is also faster, stowing away in under 20 seconds, operating at up to 31 mph. More carbon fiber allows for a dry weight under 3,600 lbs, a featherweight in the AWD convertible marketplace.

ontana was the site of the latest Ferrari of Newport Beach track day during which clients were able to unleash their vehicles under expert guidance. A wide range of models took to the course including 360 Coupes and Spiders, 430 Spiders, 458 Coupes and Speciales, California, California T, F12, a 575 Maranello, a 360 Challenge car and the new 488 GTB. Clients enjoyed the day pushing their Ferraris to their limits on the 2.8 mile, 21-turn Sports Car course with some exceeding speeds of 175 mph.

incoln’s Navigator was the first Luxury SUV, and it plotted a course that competitors have tried to follow. A press release and new website explain the motivation and engineering behind this new model. On the outside, the most obvious features are the large gullwing doors. Before Mr. Musk tweets about being first with the Tesla Model X, take into consideration that Lincoln is offering access to four seats simultaneously. The sleek body is shaved of exterior handles for a smooth & flowing appearance. Designers were influenced by yachting and sailboats, and the press photos taken along a windswept beach make the Storm Blue paint appear flawless.

ext year’s GT3 season will have a fierce new competitor. Acura is making their return to FIA sanctioned racing with a hardcore version of the new NSX. The first generation car was fielded as a Honda NSX for the 1995 season, so this new entry is long overdue. In order to comply with GT3 class regulations, the hybrid AWD system has been deleted, making the car rear wheel drive only. For power, the NSX will use a production twin turbo V6, but the transmission will be a six speed sequential instead of the production car’s nine speed. A production body and space frame will be sourced from the Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio.

tilizing a redeveloped version of the Continental’s 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine, this new GT Speed is capable of 633 hp (a 7 hp increase from last year’s) and 620 lb-ft of torque (14.75 lb-ft increase). With a breath of fresh power, the ’16 GT Speeds will be able to hit a top speed of 206 mph and rocket from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds (.2 seconds quicker). Unveiled along with the GT Speed is the new GT Speed Black Edition. This new variant for Bentley’s fastest is available for both the coupe and convertible styles. What makes the Black Edition special are the high gloss black trimmings on the exterior, carbon fiber trimming in the cabin, contrasting colors on the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser and contrasting leather that matches the exterior accents.

nveiled at the New York International Auto Show, the new Nissan GT-R boasts significant body and performance enhancements. The new installment of Nissan’s premier model includes an exterior facelift complete with a new hood and matte chrome finish. Additional exterior enhancements include a “freshly designed front spoiler lip and front bumpers situated immediately below the headlamps,” which make the model look like an authentic, “pure-bred racecar”. The new design also features an enlarged–but only slightly– “V-motion” grill, which provides better quality engine cooling. The profile of the vehicle was altered to promote better aerodynamics. When it comes to power, the “award-winning” 3.8-liter V6 twin-turbo brings 565 hp and 467 lb-ft of torque to the table. This is an improvement of 20 hp and 4 lb-ft of torque from the 2016 model.

or buyers who need more style from their compact SUV, Mercedes formally launched the GLC Coupe. It does, however, have four doors, so it will be a coupe in name only. Lesser manufacturers would be content to simply change the roof line and call it a new model, but Mercedes-Benz engineering went so far as to sharpen the steering ratio to make the Coupe more sporty than the full-size SUV. Initially, two engines will be offered. For the base model, a turbocharged four cylinder is rated at 241 hp. If you need more AMG in your life, their 3.0L twin turbo V6 will send 362 hp to a nine speed automatic. Equipped with 4MATIC all wheel drive, 60 mph is achieved in under five seconds.
