Dear Reader, A year ago (September 2015), I wrote in the Publisher’s Letter that “print is not dead”. I opined that magazines are the most trusted form of media and one that does not have pop-up ads, 30-second commercials, requires no battery power, cannot be hacked and has unlimited shelf life. Here we are a year later, and the experts have added one more benefit. The newest print media benefit is a more generally accepted concept that print media is an introductory pathway to the web. It’s similar to putting your phone number and/or web address on a billboard in an upscale neighborhood. This means that magazines (like the one you are holding) are the entry way to the marketplace. This is not like TV where commodities and things-you-have-to-have are sold. It is not a need. It is a desire. And, when someone who desires a special automobile, watch or other luxury accessory, they often (very often) begin right here in the pages of the duPont REGISTRY™—a trusted form of media with a long history of providing a place-to-go to satisfy those desires. This magazine establishes the legitimacy of the seller simply because of brand association. As many of you know, our mission is to make the best possible resources available to both buyer and seller. Recently we confirmed an inquiry from an “enthusiast” who was asking about buying a Ferrari Aperta. W
e knew it was coming, and now it’s finally official: Ferrari pulled back the sheets on a new droptop LaFerrari. The removal of the top from the hypercar is as expected in the evolution of the model. When it comes to power, don’t expect much to change. Ferrari stated that while the technical aspects of the new LaFerrari variant are under wraps, the iconic vehicle will still house the same V12 engine and electric motor found in the coupé model. With this, Ferrari expects the drop-top LaFerrari to retain the same performance figures. Because the drop-top LaFerrari pushes out the same amount of power as its coupé sibling, Ferrari

made extensive modifications to ensure it will also have the same torsional rigidity. Furthermore, aerodynamic features of the car have also been refined in order to keep the car’s draw coefficient in line with the coupé, even when the top is down. Unfortunately, all available examples have already been spoken for after the Italian automaker showed the model off during a special preview for clients. As of date of publishing, the new LaFerrari has not been given an official name. But, Ferrari does state that they will unveil the true name of the car at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, starting on October 1. Stay updated with the latest news by visiting Autofluence.com.

t this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, BRABUS unveiled their new 850 6.0 Biturbo Cabrio, based on the Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet. The aftermarket tuner states that this new Cabrio is “the world’s fastest and most powerful four-seat cabriolet.”
BRABUS is not one to take tuning lightly and that’s why they’ve upped the ante on the S63 Cabrio, pushing the power all the way up to 850 hp and 1,069 lb-ft of torque from the base version’s 577 hp and 644 lb-ft. To do this, BRABUS started by increasing the displacement of the engine from 5.5-liters to 6.0 (5,461 cc to 5,912 cc). This was accomplished through a new BRABUS crankshaft and re-machined cylinder heads. And, in true BRABUS fashion, they added two new turbochargers, exhaust manifolds, down pipes and more.

1956 CHEVROLET BEL AIR HARDTOP. One of a kind with over 20 subtle custom body modifications, from the kickedout grill to the 66 Porsche headlight lenses set back 1 inch, fenders pulled in 1 inch. Rear tail lights were also pulled in 1 inch at the top, removed stainless flippers from roof & replaced with cleaner 1 piece stainless from an Oldsmobile. Removed vent windows and replaced with new side glass with a different profile. Hood humps from a '57 Chevy were used to make the hood cowl, back bumper was notched for twin exhaust pipes, custom motorcycle mirrors were added to base of each A post and slim Jag door handles to name a few.
