GLC COLOR PIAZZA | 2022 The exterior and interior architecture are unified in a common expression. Tree columns naturally grow and form the interior space. Whiplash curves roam gracefully onto the surfaces creating one connected homogenous feeling, celebrating the essence of Art Nouveau: The abstraction of nature and movement. The curves on the side wall create slits as openings to light the external passage. Abstract Loïe Fuller’s picture perforates the iron mesh façades. The perforations, along with the graceful column in-between, give a sense of Fuller morphing into a butterfly bringing art nouveau to life. The outside light permeates the perforated façade same as the golden sun rays permeate Cairo Downtown’s alleys. Among the rich palette of GLC 2022 trending colors, we selected off-white representing the dominant colors of Art Nouveau. Walking outside the pavilion using the side ramp, the light revealed from the slits invites the visitor to remember the fading beauty of Cairo Downtown and an influential movement: Art Nouveau; the in-between style. 8

Located on the beautiful Crystal white beaches of North Coast , ENCODE designed a modern vernacular retreat as a reinterpretation of Cycladic architecture spirit. Inspired by the traditional at roofs ,cubic forms, desert landscaping and dazzling brushed whitewashed walls which are consid- ered dominant features of the architecture introduced. Glitters in an abstract concept under the glorious Mediter- ranean sun adding a minimal touch to the white summer house. Simple, modern and conservative, but utterly beau- tiful and unique,Nestled into the the site’s plot, the struc- ture’s design features an expansive terrace with a pool, overlooking the crytal Mediterranean sea shore . The masses are clad in a white plaster facade and are joined by this shared terrace. At the edge of plot , a rectangular modern in nity pool extends out toward the coastline. In addition to presence of large openings in North facade to afford the area expansive views.Speaking of the idea behind the concept, the designer introduces the enagement of the interal spaces with the splended exterior sceneray .

// Namma Residences | Safaga| EGYPT Namma shipping lines_ Nesma Holding Company Ltd The project represented a completely new development along the coast of the Safaga which is considered a serious attempt to shape the future of “identity” to the city. This compound is envisaged as a locale where residents and visitors will experience an exceptionally ‘Good’ quality of life where the design aims to revive the traditions, not in an out-fashioned manner, but adapted and integrated to the needs of today’s technical and practical world. It aims to establish balance between new spatial concepts and existing context in almost all aspects of urban design. The compound intends to provide the residents a living environment that is advanced, satisfying and safe. Cohesive, yet varied and interesting, it is hopefully to be recognized by its leading edge architecture and design process in the area in order to achieve a contemporary expression of the structural principles that govern traditional desert architecture.
13
The client for Namma shipping compound provided an open brief to build a prototype development of residences for the company’s employees in Safaga. The architect’s response to this site of natural beauty was to create an inspiring and exemplary model of responsible compound, modeled in small scale residences of low density, and integrated with the environment to bring residents into closer contact with their natural surroundings. The concept is to create a pleasant space that people may live, gather and share experience willingly, providing variant residences for employees of the company or guests to rent. Since the land has no relief and had few planning possibilities, the designers wanted to take advantage of the site desert properties to totally fit in place amidst the horizontal lines of the site and surroundings in order to make the most of the immediate environment and create sufficient interesting desert type landscape.

SOM is a computational design process to find the optimum solutions based on the project data and parameters. The process is cyclical from data to design to optimize the concept values . SOM method enables to render a space where every object in the scene is linked to the others through an abounded of data. Data Values are derived from ; Areas ,matrix of relations between project elements [1.0 to 0.0] - Environmental Aspects [ Solar radiation-airflow-shaing - visual accessiability. etc] . By Generating all the possibilities in between the project elements we arrive to the optimum solutions for each type of villas. Which after it goes into a sub cyclical process of design development and evaluation.

The design is motivated by the sense of “SEE-Through“ which enable the integration of the space through translucent and reflective materials. The reflections adds a dynamic layer over the surfaces, but with perspective and shadows which extends the space over the surfaces and consequently deepen the surface . That is a part of the space identity where the Quartz floor reflects the surrounding. Based on this approach, the design idea considers a range of reflecting and translucent materials in a dynamic yet elegant mood.

The ‘Biophilic landmark stations’ elements are introduced in the space creat- ing an element of nature and making the most of the original characteristics of the space, the designers adopt the concept of the “Biophilic Nodes” where their taregt is to achieve a totally continuous feeling between the 3 floors of the companyThe creation of such vertical Nodes distributed along the oor empha- sis on the continous , growing , dynamic feeling between the spaces inorder to de ne the new workspace of being connected instead of being segregated .The Biophilic stations act as connective spines between all 3 oors. The ‘Landmark stations’ , inspired by concept of “Biophilia” is an important feature that owing underneath a lot of L’Oréal concept starting from natural plants to products , spiral upward and become a central gathering point at each zones.

L’OREAL Goes Green Sustainability is no longer a trend, but a way of life for many corporate environ- ments. As Green-building initiatives continue to rise and property developments in o ce buildings, We believe it L’OREAL new vision should adopt eco-conscious interior design .L’OREAL’s busy environment with ever changing technology, a well-designed work- place should change e ortlessly according to the task at hand. Developing areas that can be easily adapted to suit changing require- ments is an essential element. A Productive well-being is an aspect of workplace design that has been embraced by designers more recently. With the health and well-being of employees being central to design, we see a positive impact on health, happiness, and productivity in the workplace., The design adopts com- fort, air ow, lighting, indoor plant life through individual plants and connectivity to increase the productive well-being of L’OREAL’S sta members. Also bringing the outdoors inside is an o ce design trend will boost the o ce workers whom are spending around eight hours a day inside, we can see the bene ts of bring- ing more natural elements into the workplace to enhance productivity. 34

The light runs the entire space celebrating the goal of SAP: The best-run businesses make the world run better. Our main actors inside SAP office are running light, crisp materials, and specifically selected furniture for SAP. They are performing together in a homogeneous way. Once you enter the external space, you will have an intuitive feeling of SAP running live and simple. We used the energy of light and its properties: shape, intensity, and size for guiding the users inside the space in both static and dynamic sequences. This symbolizes the continuous motion and constant innovation of SAP. We provided SAP employees with a variety of both independent and open workplaces while taking acoustic treatments in mind. On one hand, we designed independent workspace in a way that enhances privacy, acoustic independence, and concentration for the employees. On the other hand, we wanted our design of collaborative spaces to enhance brainstorming, engagement and design thinking. Other spaces like auditorium and meeting areas needed a flexible design to allow sharing information, discussions and making presentations during events.

Advanced planning variations allowed us to tailor SAP’s workplace design solution to fit their specific needs. We can see clearly how Activity-Based Work (ABW) designs help make the office space more like the outdoors and less like the indoors. ABW workplaces often incorporate plant life, natural light, and fresh air into their schemes. As the simple act of walking in a forest has been shown to reduce stress, we added actors from nature into the play: green plants, earthy materials, and natural lighting. In the ABW environment, employees can choose the workspace that best suits their mood and their current task from individual to collaborative tasks. This freedom of choice has been linked to positive feelings, and therefore employees’ well being. As open spaces are crucial for opening minds, SAP floor plans are decentralized, with connecting pathways axes that allow clear lines of sight, necessitating movement between and among a wider variety of individuals and groups, ultimately driving SAP business success.

EXPANSE | Cryptography of Nature In today,s world, we can do so much when viewing computers as abstract machines for exploration. We used the potentials of coding to create a digital space inspired from nature. One folded space unfolds to spawn millions of complex, detailed, yet surprising patterns inspired from nature. Taming of the infinite, we extracted a collection of 3D wall paneling system with variant patterns and harmonically integrated them to tell a story about the un expected magical beauty of nature. Our design process from exploration, prototyping, to final design has been rewarding. It simply spurred our imagination of what is yet to be explored. Our standard collection consists of 18 motifs with an infinite range of bespoke pieces create graceful features with modular panels offering new interesting interior and exterior moods surprising functional and remarkably beautiful. The cladding systems comes in 3D modules that can be arranged in a standard and innovative organization to accommodate different areas and can be easily installed on-site. EXPANSE Unit-Based wall panels target both residential and corporate consumers who like to explore intresting shapes yet at the same time seek a “modern” style made up of high quality, combined with a distinctive design of new geometry in a dynamic dialogue between different materials and cutting edge technologies toward elegant and unique designs. 56

ORNAMATICS SURFACES Patterns have been always a distinctive part of our daily life products, whether it is ornamental or functional, it often embeds cultural and historical values. Islamic patterns evolved over centuries while branding our heritage not only as an art/craft object but also as a geometrical and mathematical innovation. The evolution of the legacy is fading due to the shortage of craftsmanship and also for the lack of development of its design. ENCODE challenges the reviving of the valuable legacy by exploring new path ways through experimentation in cutting edge design systems and production techniques. ENCODE introduces as series of Islamic patterns that incorporate the traditional themes with contemporary and modern spirit, colors and materials, creating masterpieces of high expressive value and functionality. A complete collection of home furniture, characterized by geometric shapes of strong aesthetic effects aiming to stimulate the viewer eye to reveal the hidden order of the patterns and its shadows, and to encourage the collective emotional response that the act of meditation inspires. The pattern system is introduced through a wide range of scales and materials suitable for many applications .

// THE CITY
The 6th international Biennale for the artist’s book. | Library of Alexandria Cities are complex dynamic systems which identities evolve and mutate over time in response to the dynamic flow of surrounding and embedded forces. What if we consider the city as a vital evolving book? Who would be the writer, the reader, and what would be the content, the script and the message? Are books and cities temporary forms of communications? What is the lifespan of the book ideas or the city identity? The installation debates if architecture is a frozen ideology in time or is it active and responding simultaneously to its context? It explores the development of space that expresses this evolution/devolution process based on past knowledge and memory, as well as, an expectation. That continual, unpredictable change is inevitably forthcoming due to people different readings of the spirit of the city as parameters to revive the classical idea that a city expresses its own distinctive ethos and values where time is reappeared in the world as something real as a destabilizing but creative milieu 75
