Dear Parents, carers and all in the Chessington community
Summer feels a distant memory now especially with the cooler weather we have been having, but I do hope that our families managed to have some quality time together over the summer. In my assemblies I have been hearing about the various holidays and activities that the students have been doing and I must say I am jealous of the places that some have been to!
RESULTS DAY
My favourite part of the summer was Thursday 22nd August where our Year 11 students from last year received their GCSE results - I was so very proud of them all, seeing their faces full of joy (& some surprise!) made my day. All of their hard work paid off As a school our overall results are very pleasing with many subjects achieving above the national averages Our progress score is set to be above national average and also up on 2023 which I am delighted with The students and staff worked tirelessly and the results reflect this
NEW STUDENTS
The term has started well for all of our students but especially our new Year 7 and 12’s who have settled in incredibly well I have visited lots of essons in the last 10 days and have seen excellent learning taking place where our students are actively engaged - I hope that this continues for the rest of the year.
The Year 7’s have been to The Chessington World of Adventures today - I know that they would have had an awesome day with their new riends. I am also looking forward to having a burger and drink with the Year 7 parents at our annual BBQ, let’s hope the weather warms up a ittle!
