Dear Parents, carers and all in the Chessington community

I cannot believe that we have finished the first half term of this academic year already! It has been a crack 7 weeks with so much happening but most of all some great learning.

JACK PETCHEY

I was lucky enough to attend the Jack Petchey award ceremony last week and celebrate with our winning students. Our families were definitely the loudest cheering!

GCSE RESULTS

Speaking of celebrations, I mentioned at the start of the year about our GCSE results but wanted to share some more official data now that National averages have been finalised. Our Progress 8 score is above National and has improved on last year which is a great credit to the Class of 2024 and their teachers We also did incredibly well against national averages in the core subjects of Maths, English and Science. Showing that Chessington is truly a great school where students succeed better than nationally!

CLASS OF 2024 CELEBRATION

EVENING

The Class of 2024 are welcomed back on 14th November for an awards evening to celebrate their successes and to receive their certificates I look forward to seeing them and finding out how they are getting on at Sixth Form, College or apprenticeship.

The Class of 2025 are preparing for their Mock exams which start on Tuesday 5th November, their work ethic has been impressive so far, I know this will continue Thank you to the teachers that are giving up their time after school for our period 7 booster classes - these will supplement the work in lessons and revision at home. Good luck Year 11!

PHOEBIE’S FUNDRAISER

Phoebie held her donut sale and made over £200 for her charity Little Lady Locks, my Maths intervention class benefited from this Krispy Kreme sale too! Still time to sponsor her here.

ALTERNATIVE LEARNING WEEK

The eagerly awaited Alternative Learning Week brochures have been shared with you, a huge amount of work has gone into ensuring that different student interests have been catered for. There will be plenty of time for parent questions after half term and before the payment opens so please do get in touch Ms Jacob has done a fantastic job and I know it will be an amazing experience for all students.
